QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

No circumstances.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

If Roe v. Wade is overturned by the US Supreme Court, how far are you willing to go to roll back North Carolina's statutory abortion law that allows abortion up to 20 weeks?

As much as we can pushing towards a total eradication.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

na

Would you support a limitation on chemical abortion that protects women from taking abortion pills without the care and supervision of a qualified physician?

Yes

I support limiting all abortions. Anything ending the growth process after conception I define as abortion.

ECONOMY

The government should do more to close the gap between the working class and the wealthy.

Disagree

The government should not pick winners and losers

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

The tax code should be changed to encourage saving and investments.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

na

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

The free market should handle such matters.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

There are no circumstances where a government should be able to close a church.

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

People should bring their spiritual ideals to government. We should be careful not to create a state religion as there's never a time in history where state religion has not led to prosecution.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

Medicaid and Medicare should remain until we can bring it to an end without harming anyone on it. It's a harmful system that needs to be phased out.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

There's not a circumstance where I believe that the government has a right to stand on these issues.

EDUCATION

States should allow parents to use the Opportunity Scholarship Program to fund private school for their children.

Strongly Agree

We should expand school choice as well so that the money that's dedicated to a student can be spent on such systems. This will force competition among the school system.

In what situations does a parent not have the right to know what their child is being taught in public school?

Parents have an absolute right to know. They should consider other education options should that be a problem.

When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?

There's always rules you have to follow but school boards should not be allowed to ban parents from speaking or questioning over someone's point of view.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree

Of course. This is not to force our religion on others but even atheists when honest admit that these principles are a net good on society.

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Boys can't be girls and vice versa.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

CRT and anything in the category of social studies is a Marxist creation meant to discredit and weaken the United States.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I'm a Christian who follows the Bible.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

You should have to prove who you are to be able to vote. No discussion is necessary.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Enforce the will of the large majority of North Carolinians who voted for voter I.D. Clean our voter roles more efficiently and work with other states to track voters moving. Audit all election processes in North Carolina for weaknesses. Modernize the voter registration roles to update regularly when someone registers from a different state. Review all technology used in the voting process.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism doesn't pose a domestic threat, but a racist media does. Our media has stoked the flames of any sort of race issue with the promises of better ratings. This has created an environment where several groups are suspicious of each other when in fact they're not as different as they may think. Everyone is just trying to find a good job, take care of their family, and worship God.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

I'm all for protecting the environment with things that are proven effective and are not detrimental to the economy but this should be done with free will. We can't legislate technology into existence and us trying to has created harmful solar farms that are ineffective, short-lived, and destroying valuable farm land. Fun fact: Biggest investor in solar farms is Blue Cross Blue Shield using them for tax breaks. Unfortunately most "environmental regulations" are(not very well) hidden communist policies that expand government.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The purpose of government is to act as a semi-passive referee. They should not intervene unless a rule is broken. The rules should few and clearly spoken.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

I grew up homeschooled in a small business. I'm running because I've found its the little things that have the biggest effects on small businesses.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

https://sandhillssentinel.com/bortree-announces-bid-for-nc-house-in-district-78/

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

Nope

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I'm running to better this state. I'm pro-God, pro-life, pro-gun, and pro-school choice. But it is easy say that on the big things. I'm running for office because I've seen bad zoning laws destroy business, inefficient bureaucracy harass business owners, and licensure laws more strenuous than New York. It's easy to be conservative on the big things. I'm conservative on the little things to.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

I understand this to mean that should the officer be found not criminally guilty they are protected from a civil suit. I would also support anonymity for officers in those situations unless proven guilty.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

In fact, after speaking with many NC highway patrolmen, and retired law enforcement, I believe we need to have more mental health resources available for law enforcement. One story I will tell to make the point an officer had to lift a dead toddler from behind a couch, he told me years later while helping his wife bring in groceries he froze, and in his mind he was back there and he couldn't look at his hand for the horror he saw.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

Absolutely not, and "gun-free zone" buildings should be able to be sued by victims of criminal acts that take place on their premises.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Would you support legislation that prohibits biological boys from competing on girls sports teams?

Yes

The answer is this: Don't be silly, boys can't play on a girls sports team.
