QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

As I have stated I am not for abortion, as a means of Birth Control. I have stated and will stand firm on if the mother's life is in danger and if there are genetic informality ( some form of defect that the mother and doctors can agree on that it would be shameful or the child could not live a normal life, I would support and defend that decision.) I think there are many things that can be done in this area of Abortion. I want to be clear again it’s not a means of birth control and certainly people can take responsibility for their actions, of course accidents do happen, the lack of responsibility is certainly a cause of this discussion. I also believe in the cases of rape, incest a woman has the right to choose her own path. > I have 3 daughters and had 9 sisters, there has never been an abortion in our family we have 2 with Down syndrome that we all love dearly, and they are functioning adults. > I lost my first daughter to cancer at 1 year old, there were many decisions during her treatment that my wife refused to take part in, however I would not let them mutilate her for a 10% chance of living with only part of her body. > I just hope and pray that your family will continue to grow and that this genetic disorder will bow to Gods will. > Sorry, this is so long but it brought me back to that time and place in my own life. I don’t know if this is exactly what you wanted to hear, but it is my own honest opinion. That’s the trouble with asking me question I will and do always give my own honest answer. > God Bless > James Powers > You can call me anytime if you wish to, I will serve everyone if elected. > 9194271229

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

If Roe v. Wade is overturned by the US Supreme Court, how far are you willing to go to roll back North Carolina's statutory abortion law that allows abortion up to 20 weeks?

I again believe that there are certain situations that cannot be legislated, and the life of the mother as well as the health of the fetus to survive, as well as rape and incest should be allowed when a doctor has given the women as advice not to carry to term or birth. As I have stated above, I would stand firm on it used as a means of birth control.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Neutral

This is difficult for me when I value life so much, a person losing the will to live because of sickness, tired of being in pain, no option of getting better. Playing God is something I can't do. I would assume that if someone has the mental facilities too this would be up to them, the same as a DNR agreement

Would you support a limitation on chemical abortion that protects women from taking abortion pills without the care and supervision of a qualified physician?

Yes

But a limitation on the number of doctors that could administer it.

Highway 55. The incident happened late Saturday outside James Powers’ home, and Powers said another Trump sign about 1 mile away was burned during the early-morning hours on Oct. 30. No injuries were reported, but Powers said about 20 shots were fired at the sign, and some bullets hit the home sometime between 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Saturday. The sign was hanging on the front porch. Powers said he found the damage to the sign after returning home from dinner with his son, and immediately called Cary police. "I don't try to speculate on the what-ifs. The good thing is, every bit of this can be replaced. He's safe, I'm safe, but it's disappointing," he said.
