QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

The body of an unborn child is a separate body. Just like you, the children want to live. Understanding that this presents a trap of sorts for a woman with an unplanned pregnancy the answer lies not in throwing away a child as though it were a piece of trash. During the time when my birth mother, who named me by the way, was pregnant with me it was understood that the child (me) would be taken for adoption. I lived in an orphanage for the first two years of my life before I was adopted. Back then there where hundreds of orphanages across the states. Even if a child did not become adopted and ended up being brought up in an orphanage hopefully they had someone that loved them. They perhaps in turn would wed someone who had also grown up in an orphanage and it would be a very strong marriage. Our money needs to go into orphanages. The challenge would then become staffing with people who have plenty of love to give to them. In my opinion this could be done as I believe there are a lot of loving people out there that would take up this work. Also if a mother gives birth and then the child is put into an orphanage and not adopted out there could be ways that the birth mother could be reunited at some point. So many issues across our great land have are rooted in the destruction of innocence. This one tops the list. There are so many ways the issue of unplanned pregnancy / unwanted children could be addressed other than murder.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

If Roe v. Wade is overturned by the US Supreme Court, how far are you willing to go to roll back North Carolina's statutory abortion law that allows abortion up to 20 weeks?

at least heartbeat

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Neutral

an issue worth considering

Would you support a limitation on chemical abortion that protects women from taking abortion pills without the care and supervision of a qualified physician?

Choose not to answer

"protects from taking" does not compute -

ECONOMY

The government should do more to close the gap between the working class and the wealthy.

Agree

I am not against a progressive tax system however the money needs to be spent wisely. A hand up not a hand out. Spending on apprenticeships, training, mental health and health in general are all things that can bolster our economy, help people feel good about working to where everybody can prosper.

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

This is one I look forward to studying in detail. I am not sure right now.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

If a college student doesn't have some "skin in the game" they are less likely to be serious about their studies. It is very tough for young people today to afford college. While it is not fair at all to have taxpayers pay for all of a student's college. There should be some "chip in". Public grants and / or scholarships should be more widely available to defray some of the costs. An educated population benefits all.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Choose not to answer

This is a really tough question. I suppose you could add in political beliefs as well. While seemingly a simple issue it is complex. A lot of different scenarios come to mind. Should a baker be required to bake a cake while big tech censures free speech?

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

During WWII people gathered in churches to pray and sing while bombs dropped all around. If a circumstance warranted the closing of all other public places then perhaps closing churches could rightly be considered.

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

There should be none to speak of.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

The "new" untested, unproven "vaccines" - absolutely no circumstance. Traditional vaccines - for employees working around certain populations, such as in a prison, but only then if a woman is sure or tested to be not pregnant for example.

EDUCATION

States should allow parents to use the Opportunity Scholarship Program to fund private school for their children.

Strongly Agree

In what situations does a parent not have the right to know what their child is being taught in public school?

In no situation.

When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?

I can't think of any time other than if a person is completely unruly.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Neutral

I will need to study this one more thoroughly. People do need protection when the situation truly warrants it. I feel for these people - I really do. Mostly they are children who are under attack.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

a divide and conquer mechanism to be sure

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian. I do and try to love people as I was taught. Christ is the preeminent case for the destruction of innocence. Many of our societal issues can be framed in the persecution, attack on, the destruction of innocence many times by our own government. Be it abortion or fraudulent justice or lies and propaganda to mislead and fool people. I hate it and I know God cries.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Our voting system is like a chain with many, many weak links. This is only one of them.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

This is one system that could stand to be rebuilt from the ground up. In the meantime, the punishment for any type of cheating in an election should be 20 years. That would be for starters.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Only to the extent as "advertised" by the propaganda put out by big tech and the MSM.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

B - there are ways of doing things that should not cost a company lots of extra money if done creatively. Our world and our country are our home. We need to do everything we can to protect and preserve both.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

To do the will of the people - to direct the resources of the people to advance the best possible society for the people

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

though I don't like labels. I think of myself as not even having a box to think outside of. I believe in establishing a common vision. I believe in the application of basic principals to complex issues and problems. There is a book that teaches many, many of these basic principles. It is called the Bible.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

no major

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

no

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

What makes me so good is the way I think - add together character, intellect, education and life experience. I look at the job as a state senator to be just that - a job. I am an engineer and very much the practical common- sense, let's get it done solutions guy. Job one for a leader is to bring people together and that is what I want to do. I have a mentally ill son and have been around this block for the last 17 years. I would like to see NC be number one in mental health care. Next would be education. Health in general. Election integrity. Technology as applied. Highway safety ..... what I like about this job is the wide variety of issues that exist at the state level.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Disagree

Policy only takes you so far. "Consistent with policy" can be very vague. There are nuances. Police chiefs need to be held accountable when the situation warrants. It's a tough job. I wouldn't ever want have to do it.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

This is not the way to look at this - ie - taking money from one essential service to fund another does not compute with me. There are other ways to bolster mental health / care and community programs.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

any are already in place - ie - background check

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

no way
