OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion should be allowed up to 15 weeks. After that, it should only be allowed in cases of rape, incest, and harm to the mother.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

If Roe v. Wade is overturned by the US Supreme Court, how far are you willing to go to roll back North Carolina's statutory abortion law that allows abortion up to 20 weeks?

I will go as far to repeal the law and put in place abortion up to 15 weeks.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Agree

Would you support a limitation on chemical abortion that protects women from taking abortion pills without the care and supervision of a qualified physician?

Yes

ECONOMY

The government should do more to close the gap between the working class and the wealthy.

Disagree

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Small and local businesses should have very little tax. Taxes across the board should be kept low.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

None

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

There should be a complete separation of "Church and State". Governments should not interfere with any religious practice nor make laws based off religion. You should have complete religious liberty; however, that liberty shall not infringe on another persons rights.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. Keep all private healthcare options available.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

There are no circumstances unless the vaccinations have been studied thoroughly and for an extended period of time. Eg. flu, polio, tetanus, diphtheria, measles, and many more. Many of these vaccinations are a requirement in order to attend many schools.

EDUCATION

States should allow parents to use the Opportunity Scholarship Program to fund private school for their children.

Agree

In what situations does a parent not have the right to know what their child is being taught in public school?

No situation exists.

When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?

Parents should never be restricted from speaking in school board meetings.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree

When our state and federal governments where founded, they were founded on these Judeo-Christian values which did establish a framework of morality. In todays world, the values of everyday people regardless of religious affiliation can have the morality that is necessary for our limited government system.

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian and believer in Christ. I believe everyone should be treated equal no matter their race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender, and nationality. I believe governments should not interfere with businesses or people in regards to religious liberty; however, we can not allow people to be discriminated against under any circumstance especially in regards to marriage or the rights already given to people.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

I would propose a voter ID law to ensure that one person one vote is held true.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. Racism does exist; however, it does not constitute being a threat to domestic security. We should not stand for racism in any capacity and punish those who unlawfully discriminate based off race.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. We should care for our environment and pass laws and regulations that are economically feasible.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The general purpose of government is to provide security, law and order, and to provide assistance to the people when needed.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

On foreign policy, the economy, and religious liberty I am conservative. When it comes to social matters I lean conservative. For example, I believe in anyone having the right to marry whom they please. The government should stay out of peoples lives in all aspects including that. Everyone has a right to religious liberty so long as you do not infringe on any persons legal rights and vice versa.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

Facebook- brandonfornchouse

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

NO

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I am the son of an immigrant from El Salvador. I am currently in the United States Marines Corps Reserves. My priorities are to improve infrastructure, increase teacher pay, ensure our first responders are cared for, and to genuinely represent the people of my district. I want to mend relationships across party lines and try to achieve things in the legislature together because North Carolina is not just Republican or Democrat, we are a mixture of many different political parties and ideals.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Agree

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

You should be restricted from owning a firearm if you are mentally unstable, a felon, and not a citizen in order to protect public safety.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree
