Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I support the full right to life of the unborn. Pregnant women, especially minors, who may be pregnant under difficult or unwanted circumstances--including rape or incest, should receive committed and comprehensive support--financial if needed, and counseling, through private, faith, non-profit, adoptive and public services and financial sources.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. Vaccinations should be the choice of individuals, employees, and for children, parents. North Carolinians and Americans who decide against being vaccinated should never be punished, have a loss of a job mandated, or suffer the loss of any other rights.

States should allow parents to use the Opportunity Scholarship Program to fund private school for their children.

Parents should have the full right to both help to determine and to know what their child is being taught in public school.

Legislation should be passed to protect the parents complete right to freely speak at school board meetings. There should be no restrictions.

Require voter ID. Require a proper chain of custody and verification of voter identity for mail-in ballots. Require voting precincts to allow reasonable transparency of verification of election results.

Economic, legal and social rights have improved greatly in America since the founding of the United States. As with anything in life, improvement and progress need to continue. The diversity in America of races, ethnicities, and legal immigrants from across the globe, along with the greatest economy in the world driven by free market capitalism, and the rights we all enjoy, strengthen America's domestic security.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

As a faith conservative, I understand the critical importance of an elected representative’s willingness to commit to “going the distance” on issues impacting constituents. At times, to suffer the attacks of well-organized and vicious opposition groups. To be less concerned with a political career, but to be more principled in protecting the rights and in reflecting in legislation the values of good people. And this I will do.


CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
