QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
Schools primary purpose is for education. In the event medical advice is wanted or needed, schools can offer a list of services in the community, but not partake in any medical directives.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The public school system does not mandate one religious viewpoint. Our country was founded on biblical principles, but does not require everyone to hold those viewpoints. Families and staff are free to hold their own religious values without imposing those views on others while in schools.
ECONOMY
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
I support a student weighted funding model for Prek - 12. Different weights could include more funding for classifications such as economically disadvantaged, gifted and talented, and exceptional children, to ensure we are addressing all learners. Education opens doors to opportunity beyond graduation. Employment opportunities, enlisting in the military, or a college degree are all ways for individuals to be successful. I support the government paying for military college opportunities.
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Strongly Agree
IMMIGRATION
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.
Strongly Agree
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Strongly Disagree
Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.
Strongly Agree
Inclusion has slowly crept into society allowing for tolerance to eliminate accountability. In order to have a quality education system we must maintain consistent expectations for all. One child can disrupt a learning environment, hindering the rest of the class' ability to learn. We must keep education the focus over inclusion.
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.
Strongly Agree
Educators have a responsibility to inspire the next generation. Understanding the American founding documents and patriotism will ensure students value and appreciate the great country they live in and the opportunities they have because of it.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
The elimination of the Department of Education back to the states allows for a more targeted focus of advocacy. The model currently involving local, state, federal, and grant applications to fund schools creates multiple tiers of advocacy. Having funding streamlined allows for a more targeted support for students and an educational experience that is more responsive to students needs. All federally protected classes, such as exceptional education, should continued to be supported.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development
Sexual education should be an abstinence first stance. It should include bodily anatomy and autonomy. Parents permission should be gained first for their child to learn about contraception methods, and how STDs spread. Sexual orientation and gender identity should not be promoted in our schools. The sexual education should be about preventing the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and the anatomy of the body. Parents can discuss with their children beyond that scope if they so choose.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning
Language Arts Mathematics American History Civics Science Vocational Learning Art and Music Personal Finances Physical Fitness Information Technology Foreign Language
Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and building character necessary to preserve American traditions and self-government.
Strongly Agree
School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.
Agree
I support families to choose what is best for their children. Public schools need to continue to be innovative so that families choose that option. However, I also understand it takes time to change regulations to allow for flexible innovation in public education. I also support a change to the current funding model in the form of a weighted funding approach. I will continue to work on both of these.
2ND AMENDMENT
Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.
Choose not to answer
I support the 2nd amendment, but this question requires a more thorough response of what "ongoing training" looks like prior to me being able to accurately agree or disagree with the sentiment. I support having school resource officers on site to be responsive in the event of a dangerous intruder on campus.

Conservative
VALUES
Biological males should be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Disagree
As a female athlete myself it is imperative we continue to give women opportunities the way Title IX was designed.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian. I believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins and redeemed us all. Honor the Lord God with all of you heart, soul, and mind, and do undo other as you'd have them do unto you bedrock principals in our home. Honest, open dialog is how I have and will continue to govern as an elected official.
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Strongly Agree
The North Carolina General Assembly’s passage of the Parents’ Bill of Rights empowers parents to be fully involved in their child’s education. Parental involvement in education is instrumental to a child’s success.
I support the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.
Strongly Agree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Agree
Mental health conditions such as anorexia and gender dysphoria need to be treated, not affirmed.
Agree
School library books that have literary value, as determined by experts, should be exempt from obscenity laws.
Strongly Disagree
It is important that students have access to age-appropriate materials, and obscenity standards should not be waived simply because a book is labeled as having “literary value.”
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
