*Additional information was received after the evaluation was assigned and was not considered in the Panel Evaluations, therefore it is for additional educational purposes only.
RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

If the mother's life is in jeopardy due to complications of the pregnancy or delivery, I believe the mother's life should be spared instead of the baby's life, especially if she has other children to raise.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Planned Parenthood has ruined the fabric of our society.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

I believe there is a place for hospice in the life of a person who is already in the process of dying (with the person's consent) but I am strongly opposed to assisted suicide and euthanasia. I base my beliefs on the Francis Schaeffer book, "Whatever Happened to the Human Race".

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

We are a free country and in the State of Nebraska the Constitution Article 1, Section 4 says that "all persons have a natural and indefeasible right to worship Almighty God according to the dictates of their own consciences...nor shall any interference with the rights of conscience be permitted."

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

I cannot think of any circumstances that would give the government the power to do so unless there was a total curfew in the event of war.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

All people in the U.S. have freedom of religion, but those individuals who use their religion as an excuse to harm others or to kill them should be considered criminals whose crimes are punishable by law.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

I am a total supporter of Israel.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C. Medicaid and Medicare should also be highly monitored to prevent abuse.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

They should be allowed to require vaccinations when people's lives and threatened AND the vaccinations are truly vaccinations that will STOP a disease, unlike the Covid "vaccinations" that our country just experienced.

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

I need to research the answer to the that question. However, I believe that small businesses should be given every opportunity possible to thrive in the post-Covid environment because they were hard hit by government overreach.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I would comb through social programs that may not be needed, especially those that are helping able bodied persons and students who should be responsible for their own futures.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Agree

As someone who paid my own way through college, I disagree with that. it is a sacrifice to do so, but no one else owes me, my children or grandchildren an education.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

What is happening at the southern border will probaby destroy our nation if it is not stopped.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Those individuals who abide by the laws of the U.S. and those who are TRULY refugees and are willing to abide by our laws, should be able to enter the U.S.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

I think this is the answer to the education debacle which our nation faces of producing non-readers in our public schools. If public schools have to compete with private schools, everyone's standard of education will improve.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Agree

As long as they are following policy, they should not be prosecuted for errors made due to the pressure which they are experiencing.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Disagree

There is a place for mental health and community programs but police departments enforce the law.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Convicted felons should not be allowed to have firearms.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Disagree

A gun, in itself, is not guilty of a crime and more than a butcher knife in the kitchen is guilty of a crime. People are guilty of committing crimes with various instruments.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

To guard and protect individual freedoms as they are spelled out in the Constitution of the United States.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

KETV and KPTM news have both done interviews.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I am very acquainted with the criminal justice system due to my employment at the Department of Correctional Services in Nebraska for 15 years. I have compassion for the incarcerated individuals but also believe in the rule of law.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

Our government is based on a Judeo-Christian ethic.

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Gender identity is not valid as a specially protected class.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Strongly Agree

Totally agree--no more comment.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Critical Race Theory is a Marxist doctrine.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a born again, Bible believing Christian. I committed my life to Jesus Christ as a young person and have a personal relationship with Him. I credit those who raised me and influenced me at an early age for introducing me to the truths of Scripture. As a result, of following Jesus Christ, I have an inner compass that does not come from myself, but from the Holy Spirit who gives me guidance. Psalm 119:105 says, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path." That Word has proved true to me every day since I yielded my life to Christ at the age of 16.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Photo ID is absolutely necessary.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

I would like to see local precincts take control of the elections and would prefer paper ballots.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. Racism is a threat to our domestic lives as neighbors but I would not say it is a national security threat. We always need to work at being kind to one another, regardless of race.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

That Civil War is over. Many lives were given in the battle for freedom. We need to go forward and be kind to one another but I am not responsible for what happened 200 years ago.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree
