QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
None. Life begins at the moment of conception and any disruption to that life is murder. When complications arise to save the life of the mother, every effort must be extended to save both lives because two lives are at stake.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
They have operated under the guise of women's health, and until the practice of abortion is abolished, they should receive no funding.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Agree
The sanctity of life begins from the moment of conception to life's natural conclusion. While efforts to ease pain and suffering should be utilized, withholding life sustaining nutrition and water needs is an unconscionable act.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
We need to address the doc stamp issue which affects the Sadowski Act. Government has raided that fund from its original purpose which is creating instability in our housing infrastructure.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
First I would say that we must always balance the budget according to fiduciary responsibility. In times of necessity I would always start with an across the board percentage reduction and then set exceptions based on priorities starting with safety first then with infrastructure.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
School choice and parental rights must be protected and the opportunity for parents to send their children to whatever they deem best, including private school, must be afforded them. Children are not a ward of the state, and their upbringing is solely the right of the parents. Secondary education is the responsibility of each individual to pursue, as well as, vocational paths, and should not be made a burden of the general tax paying public.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Absolutely not. Our freedom of religion is the first and paramount protection under the first amendment of the constitution. Freedom of conscience must be afforded every individual when it comes to religion and worship.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Never! Churches should be allowed to remain open as every individual has the right to attend as they deem fitting.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C. Principally we should have never been in this situation, as Medicare and Medicaid were social programs that started us down a wrong pathway. However, there are thousands who have already paid into the system, and it would be unjust to undermine their support. We will have to fly the plane as handed to us, and aim towards solutions that restore us to personal responsibility and charity as the foundation of our medical system.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Never. Vaccinations are a personal issue and choice, and no entity has the right to force these things upon a sovereign human being.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
We must adopt the national policy of America First and protect our home as any individual would protect their own home. That being said, we must start with our borders and make sure that we know who is crossing them. We also must never allow sharia law to supplant our Constitution as a legal foundation for any American jurisprudence. Any known terrorist activity must be addressed by freezing assets and shutting down active cells that contradict our laws. We should also stop the infiltration of un-American interjection and indoctrination into our educational system. Internationally, we must remain strong in our stance, including our support for our democratic allies, namely Israel, who are best positioned to maintain stability in the Middle East region.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
I am adamantly opposed to this propaganda that undermines Israel's right to protect itself and would never support such measures.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
We should immediately respond federally to support the southern states and close this sieve that is flooding our nation with dangerous people, drugs, and human trafficking, and restore a sensible way for practical immigration practices. We need to enforce the laws that are on the books and reinstate the policies set in place by the previous administration.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
We should utilize a merit based system that encourages the brightest and best, and continue our long practiced measures for true political refugees in need of asylum. We can continue a workforce program that permits qualified individuals who pass the necessary background checks against criminal activity. As a nation of immigrants ourselves, we must always keep the posture to welcome those who love this nation and all that it stands for and seek the correct path for legitimate entry. However, we must stop the practice of offering benefits to non-citizens which only entices illegal entry. Finally, we must protect the flow of entry as to not undermine the stability and rights of those who already call America home.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
We must put educational choices back in the hands of the parents where they belong, including home school options.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
The foundation of western law is based upon the laws of nature and natures God as promoted by Blackstone commentaries which the founders based the laws of juris prudence. The premise of our liberty is predicated on the fact that there is a God who has given us inalienable rights, and that rights come from God and not government.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
There are clearly two genders, as supported by both science and common knowledge.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Agree
Marriage is not an institution of the state and therefore should not be defined by the state.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
This is a socialist based philosophy historically used by communist propaganda to create division and thereupon to seize power through manipulating the supposed downtrodden.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian and believe that man is born with a fallen nature and needs redemption which was accomplished through the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus the son of God on behalf of mankind to reconcile us through grace to a loving and restored relationship with God. Our key responsibilities are revealed through God’s law encapsulated in the Ten Commandments, and demonstrated through Christs commands to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourself, which is the sum of the law and prophets. Our duty is to live a life that serves others and through this we find fulfillment and joy. I believe there is a final judgement, that there is a heaven and hell, and that only through Christ is there redemption.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
We must protect the integrity of elections and this is a vital part of that protection from fraudulent voting.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
We should return to paper ballots and auditing of elections, and get rid of the drop box fiasco.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism is a straw man argument that though is does exist, it is not institutional as proposed. You cannot fight racism with racism, and the supposition that it is an inherent white trait is in itself a racist notion to undermine the foundation of western thought. This racist theory is itself the true domestic threat.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
You don’t penalize sons for the sins of the fathers. There is no legitimate way to parse such notions historically. In fact there were Barbary coast pirates of Africa who were enslaving whites, and many involved in the slave trade were other black tribes selling their brethren to the slavers on the souther African shores. Though this was a horrendous practice, future generations did not commit these crimes and many of them were the most vociferous in ending these crimes and restoring virtue.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
The first view comes closest, however we must remain stewards of our environment and use best practices to do so. We must guard our natural resources without worshipping them. As my father said, leave things in a better way than you found them, and treat others things better than your own. We can leave things for our children through good stewardship and common sense practices that both utilize and preserve nature.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
It is a false notion that this practice has caused harm and denied us much benefit and energy independence.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
It is a creation of, by, and for the people for the preservation of our God given rights. Federally it was both created by the states and limited constitutionally by the states. Government itself should be limited to regulate equal liberty and opportunity for all men.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
The further our nation has drifted to the left, the more the right has drifted from the sound moral and economic principles that have made us great. What was once right and sound thinking has been labeled as extreme when our founders called it “common sense”. Yes, there are extremists on each end of the spectrum, but let us not confuse sound principal by the measure of societal drift, but rather let us use truth as an anchor in the storm to restore soundness and wholeness to our society.
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
I would say the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution including the preamble most clearly show these truths that are self evident. Beyond that the writings of our founders such as federalist papers underscore such common thought. I honestly don’t know how you can improve upon these documents as foundational proof for conservative thought. We can also point to historical foundations of the Republican Party and its formation founded in the abolition of slavery and the overturning of the Dredd Scott decision of 1857 to show the value of a strong conservative value as the basis for sound society. I don’t know of any particular media and interviews done of myself that would back up my views but I believe the past 26 years of service in our community and my public service as a city Commissioner show this in both my policies and practices. I am endorsed by the Consrvative Ministers of Central Florida and being interviewed with them.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No, never, and am a happily married man for 35 years. My wife and I founded Love your Mate ministries and have travelled and ministered on the issues of marriage and sexuality from a Biblical perspective. We are known for having a strong marriage and for helping other marriages be restored.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I believe in America First, limited government, equal opportunity, strong security, and justice for all. I believe in supporting and valuing the precious gift of life from conception to natural conclusion and will support every measure to do so, including the disabled. I am fiscally conservative and have a record of fighting for low taxes and responsible government including having healthy reserves to stabilize our budget. I will fight against the skyrocketing insurance rates as well as the inflationary practices that are plaguing our nation. I am also a strong advocate for restoring states rights and protecting us against federal policies that undermine our liberties.I believe in America first principles and would stand for both sound borders and strong support for our law enforcement with true accountability to keep government in check. I am a firm believer in our constitutional liberties, and a staunch defender of our first and second amendments as well as all the guaranteed rights our founders passed along to us. I will fight for our children against a radical agenda of socialist indoctrination and social experimentation and seek to restore our education system to scholastic knowledge and vocational opportunities as well as secondary education pathways for success, and to put school choice back in the hands of the parents where it belongs. I will always fight for equality for all understanding that we are all created in God’s image and inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are fundamental rights that must be preserved for us and our posterity.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Neutral
I typically have strong views and on this issue it is a challenge due to the heavy attack against our law enforcement community. I do believe there must be a strong accountability for all who serve, but we cannot put someone in and untenable situation either. Where there is misconduct it must be dealt with and no one is above the law.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
This is a consistent problem in many places in government, and redirecting funds is a breach of their intended purpose.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The second amendment is clear and must not be infringed upon. Statistics prove that the safest areas are where the rights of law abiding gun owners are protected and where the laws are the most stringent the public is at greatest risk. We must protect due process and cannot restrict gun owners their rights. I believe in constitutional carry.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
Firearms are inanimate objects with no will of their own. It the user that must be held accountable.
