What is the function of the local school board?
A school board member roll is to be abale explain to the community the next coming school years vision that as been put together by the superintendent and administrator of your district. We must be able to review all the documents with in time provided by law (72 hours) and a parent must be able to question any agenda they feel might be a problem. The community should be able to communicate with there board member in regards to any school issue that effects the children of our district a d community!
Who should have the authority to set curriculum and determine resources used in those curricula?
Superintendent and his administration, we has a board approve or disapprove it. But we must be allow to question any item that seem questionable and not just keep voting 7-0 to move along! Team of 7
When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?
A parent should "NEVER" be limited to how much time they are aloud to speak. Parents pay taxes and elect us to our position on the school board and whether we like it or not or want to hear it or not a parents voice should never be silenced and realistically we as board members should encourage more parent to be involved with the board so we can educate our children as a community!
