QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Strongly Agree
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Agree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.
Strongly Agree
It is called freedom of speech.
School districts should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Agree
Everyone has a right to abide by their beliefs. The school system shouldn’t ask about beliefs or discriminate based on knowledge of an individual’s belief or a company’s founding principles.
Students should not be allowed to pray in school.
Disagree
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Proven immunizations make sense. However, vaccines that are experimental or forever changing without strong outcomes should never be required. Covid vaccines are like flu shots hit and miss. Long-term side effects of Covid vaccines are unknown. Forcing Covid vaccines on young children who are the least effected is ridiculous. The adults can get vaccines if they choose to.
ECONOMY
School districts should be able to use taxpayer money for lobbying the state legislature.
Agree
The school system is ruled by federal and state laws along with the State Board of Education and Department of Public Instruction not all laws and policies positively impact local schools. School Districts come in a variety of characteristics, sizes and needs. At times local systems need to address issues and push back on laws and policies that would negatively impact the local system.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
Politics, bureaucracy and free money has caused the decline of education. Taxpayer money is considered free money by politicians and wasted at an exorbitant rate. I agree college tuition is astronomical however everyone needs skin in the game to value education. A complete review and assessment of the education system needs to be done. Too many money carrots are being dangled at the Federal level to influence public education which may or may not assist in improving academic outcomes. We have to get back to focusing on strong foundational education that will lead to productive careers. Strong full-time pre-k can assist student readiness for kindergarten. However, new studies are coming out challenging the structure of pre-k. Free is becoming a negative these days. The more the government gives seems to correlate to increase cost.
EDUCATION
When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?
Never, parents should make their statements in a PG13 manner.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): Mathematics, Information Technology, Science, Political Activism, Personal Finances, Gender Identity, Physical Fitness, American History, Critical Race Theory, Language Arts, Art & Music, Vocational Learning, Sexuality, Foreign Language, Social Emotional Learning
Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, American History, Information Technology, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Art & Music, Vocational, Foreign Language,
American civics education should emphasize our nation's founding principles of liberty and equality.
Strongly Agree
Before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE) or Social Emotional Learning (SEL), they must opt-in with written parental permission.
Strongly Agree
The loss of local control in education is too high a price to pay in exchange for federal dollars.
Strongly Agree
I support the teaching of curricula (such as the 1619 Project, No Place for Hate, Second Step, etc.) that emphasizes slavery and racism as the foundation of American history.
Strongly Disagree
Nikole Hannah-Jones stated 1619 Project is not about history, it is journalism as well as journalism is nothing more than activism. Public Education is to provide children with a strong foundational education not to create activist.
Parents are the ultimate authority in their child’s education and should be able to freely pursue whatever educational options they deem best for their child.
Strongly Disagree
What is the function of the local school board?
The local school board should determine the vision and goals for the district and set performance goals. The board creates policy to govern the district. Hires a Superintendent to run the district under their leadership.
Do you support the National School Board Association's characterization of parents who speak out at school board meetings as "domestic terrorists"?
No
I was shocked, they would call parents domestic terrorist.
Who should have the authority to set curriculum and determine resources used in those curricula?
The school board has oversight.
Who has the ultimate right to control the education of children in public schools? (a) parents (b) teachers (c)school boards.
Parents have the right to control the education of their children.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
Under what circumstances (if any) should schools be allowed to require vaccinations?
Proven immunizations I believe should be considered. Covid vaccines should absolutely not be required.
I support mask mandates.
Strongly Disagree

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

A candidate's personal moral values should not be relevant when considering a candidacy for elective office.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

VALUES
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian. I believe respect and kindness wins over anger and hate.
I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.
Strongly Disagree
There are physical differences between men and women. Biological women cannot compete against biological men. Biological women who choose to participate in men’s sports are never on the news, point made. A birthing person will be a biological woman. Women spent years to gain ground in a man’s world. What is currently happening is a setback for women. No need to have women’s sports if it is going to be taken over by biological males.
Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
Parents are responsible for teaching sexual education and when. Sex Ed classes are available with parental consent.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- Physical and emotional health outcomes; contraceptive methods; consent; abstinence; sexual orientation and gender identity; human anatomy/the reproductive system; abortion methods and side effects; stages of pregnancy and fetal development; sex acts and pleasures of sex
Sex ed is offered in schools. The topics covered should be human anatomy/the reproductive system, stages of pregnancy and fetal development, abstinence, and consent. Stress pregnancy can happen the very first time without protection and with protection. Contraceptives are not a 100% effective.
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.
Agree
No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent.
Strongly Agree
No school official should be involved in the sexual transitioning of a student, including the use of alternative names and pronouns.
Agree
EQUALITY
I support the teaching that an individual, solely by virtue of his or her race, is inherently racist, whether consciously or unconsciously.
Strongly Disagree
