QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I believe that abortion should be allowed before the mother hits 20 weeks gestation or in the case of medical emergency for the mother. I believe that what happens in your doctors office is between you and your doctor.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Disagree
I believe supporting the educational and prepregnancy programs that keep teen pregnancy down, help low income families get birth control, and educate the community about sexually transmitted diseases and testing.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Agree
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
We have to start by diversifying our educational income so that we can get our property taxes under control. That helps every single Nebraskan, even renters, in keeping housing costs down. We need to invest in education, healthcare, and our citizens by finding revenue streams that don't affect our middle and lower classes.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I spent the last 5 years as an accountant for the state of Nebraska. Having known our budgets inside and out, I am not sure I would cut anything as much as I would reappropriate to the right places. Why are we building a lake when our education system, healthcare, and infrastructure aren't fully funded. My goal would be to protect and provide our resources to every citizen in Nebraska and that means funding projects that matter across the state.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Agree
If we diversified the way that we financially support schools, through sales or income tax, we could lower property taxes in nearly every school district across the state. If we used the trust fund aspect of LB 890 from last year, we could fund pre-k through college for every Nebraskan, we just have to be willing to take a chance and trust our state to fund the program fully and school boards to follow through with dropping the levy, they want it to drop, for themselves and for their neighbors.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Agree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?

HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
I believe in universal healthcare. We have to change our current system. No one should go broke trying to save their child's life or have to choose between prescriptions and food.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Terrorism of all kinds is an issue and I would work to eradicate all of it.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
