QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Neutral
If they do receive federal funds, they should be subject to yearly audits by the federal government to ensure that any federal funds receive are not used towards abortions.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Neutral
This is a subject I have never been asked about and one I will need to give some thought to. It would be irresponsible to have a strong opinion either way at this point.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I believe it should be allowed in cases of rape, incest, and when the life of the mother is threatened.
ECONOMY
Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.
Strongly Disagree
There is no incentive to work if you are going to be given what someone else has worked for.
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Strongly Agree
They should also better prioritize when they do spend. All foreign aid should be given as a loan to that country.
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
As a tax professional by trade, there is so much I would change. The tax code needs to be simplified and easier to understand. There are more changes that need to be made than can be listed here.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
Everyone should have the freedom to practice their religion, or non-religion, without interference from the government or any other outside forces.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Most of the businesses in this country are not faith-based and do not object to services. However, should you choose to go to work for an organization that does have faith-based values, you then also choose to accept any restrictions that they put into place in regards to certain services.
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
The only way for Religious Liberty to exist is a separation of church and state.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
If a vaccination is going to be required, it should be made known to the employee, student, etc. BEFORE they join. This way they have a choice if they want to join the organization. Once a person has joined the organization, whatever it may be, new vaccination requirements should not be allowed. The government should not be able to force new vaccines on soldiers, schools should not be able to force new vaccines on students, and employers should not be able to force new vaccines on employees.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. In addition, the rules and regulations required to become a health insurer need to be modified to allow cross-state sales. They rules also need to be changed to allow new insurers to enter the market. Both of these changes would lead to increased competition in the health insurance market and drive down costs to the American taxpayer.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Neutral
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
The Chinese are our best frenemy. While they own over $1 trillion of US debt, they are also responsible for cyber attacked, ignore copyright and other intellectual property rights, and back countries like North Korea who are a threat to the world.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Give military leaders more autonomy to act. They get the intel, know who the bad guys are, and where they are, but then have to wait for orders from the chain of command. That chain of command usually stops at a politician somewhere who has no real idea what is happening, like our current President. How can we effectively combat terrorism when the Commander in Chief doesn't even know where he is half the time.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
In 2021 the US budgeted $38 billion for foreign aid, meanwhile the wall on the southern border proposed and started by President Trump would cost between $12 - $22 billion depending on which estimate you believe. So for less than our foreign aid budget, we could secure our border.
State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
If a state or city is going to violate federal law, then they should forfeit all federal funding as a result. That is a perfect example of a punishment fitting a crime.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
There are stories of immigrants who come here with nothing and become very successful, so I do not think having a prestigious career or special skills should be necessary to be a US citizen, but those people should probably get consideration first as they will begin making contributions to our country right away. Anyone trying to migrate to the US should undergo a very extensive background check, mental health screening, and physical screening to ensure they are not going to move here and immediately put a burden on our society. There is an old saying "When in Rome, do as the Romans do", but too many people move here and then expect the US to adapt to them. There should be a class for all those wanting to migrate that teaches them the basics of our society and presses upon them that they are choosing to come here, so it is their responsibility to adapt.
VALUES
Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Sexual orientation is something that if never brought up, nobody would ever know. It doesn't need to be protected because it's not something you should be sharing with your employer or similar organizations anyways. Gender identity should not be a protected class because a lot of businesses try to portray different images, having a man dressed up as a woman may not be the image a business wants to put forward and they shouldn't be legally required to do so.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
CRT is a deceptive acronym. Calling Critical Race Theory a "theory" is being generous. That would be like calling the disproven belief that the earth is flat a theory. Something that is untrue, disproven, and just plain wrong but still believed by some is called ignorance. I will only refer to CRT as CRI or Critical Race Ignorance.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
While not specifically religious, I believe in right and wrong, good versus evil. My wife is Lutheran and I tend to rely on her judgment in grey areas.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
2020 proved that voter ID laws are a necessity. Nobody should be allowed to vote without proving who they are.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
An unexpired, government issued, photo ID should have to be shown before voting. If voting by absentee, a service like ID.ME (currently used by the IRS for ID verification) should be used before sending the ballot to the voter.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Nobody alive today was a slave and nobody alive today owned slaves. Time to move past this issue.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism is a problem that barely exists. It is kept alive by the media and liberal politicians as a way to keep ratings and secure votes.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
I support any form of extracting oil that helps the US to be more energy independent.
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
None exist right now. I am new to the political arena.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
I have not.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I am not a politician. I have never held office. This is usually used as an attack by opponents when a politician runs against someone new. They talk about the lack of experience. I consider a lack of political experience to be a good thing. I have not been corrupted and do not owe any favors to anyone. I think we have seen what political experience looks like compared to outsiders. Just look at the differences in our economy when comparing Trump to Biden.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Disagree
Maybe in the future, but not currently. We need to fund mental health and community programs first. Ideally those programs would reduce crime and lead to a need for fewer officers. Until those results are achieved though, we still need fully funded police departments.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Those convicted of violent crimes should be stripped of their gun rights. No other restrictions are needed.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
That would be like suing a fork manufacture for making you fat. A gun is a tool, like a hammer or a fork. It cannot do anything without a person behind it. You cannot sue a tool manufacturer because a crazy person misuses a tool.
