QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

None! We are all created in the image of God (see the Book of Genesis in the Bible). I do not believe that we take the lives of the innocent and there is none more innocent as a child in the womb. I do not even believe in abortion as a solution to rape or incest...adoption is the better solution. I also oppose all vaccines that are derived from aborted fetal tissue or contain aborted fetal tissue and that currently includes all the COVID-19 vaccines as well as many of the other more traditional or commonplace vaccines. We have created a culture that hates children. We kill our kids and call it "abortion". We have kids and push them into daycare. We stick our kids in government schools where they are taught that they are evolved from apes and there is no God. We need to start finding leaders that want to build a culture of life and are bold enough and strong enough really mean it and make it happen. For too long we have supported "pro-life" candidates that say they are "pro-life", but when they have the power to truly end the culture of death we call abortion, they do not get it done. That needs to change and one of the many reason i am running for elected office.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Planned parenthood should NOT be funded by tax-payer dollars. In fact, i think this was one of the promises by the abortion advocates and supporters of Roe v. Wade (no tax dollars would ever go to fund abortions). That was quickly pushed aside once abortion was legalized. I believe spending bills containing money for Planned parenthood should vetoed even if that means a temporary shut-down of government.

If Roe v. Wade is overturned by the US Supreme Court, how far are you willing to go to roll back North Carolina's statutory abortion law that allows abortion up to 20 weeks?

I do not believe it should be legal at any number of weeks. Again, all of us are created in the image of God. I would support rolling back abortion as much as possible if that was a bill that would pass but would like to see it abolished completely and would push for that and find

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

I 100% oppose both legalizing assisted suicide / euthanasia. Again, we are created in the image of God. The Book of Job tells us that God numbered our days and not man. When a man takes another innocent man's life, that is murder in the eyes of God and the State should not legalize such practices. Furthermore, the risk of abuse far outweighs any possible benefits. The State and laws should not decide when and where and how a person is to die.

Would you support a limitation on chemical abortion that protects women from taking abortion pills without the care and supervision of a qualified physician?

Yes

I am prolife. Whether it is a chemical abortion or a suction machine at a Planned Parenthood facility, i do not support abortion.

ECONOMY

The government should do more to close the gap between the working class and the wealthy.

Neutral

Government's primary job is to protect the nation from foreign and domestic enemies, law enforcement and the courts. Their secondary role is to protect life, liberty and the "pursuit" of happiness. We are a Democratic Republic with an economy based upon "Capitalism". As a result, government should promote fair competition. Hard work should be rewarded regardless of class or wealth and dependence on government should be reduced. By doing these things, the gaps will be closed.

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

I believe there needs to be "school choice". By this i mean we need the right as parents to divert our tax dollars to the school / institution / system of our choice. This will create competition and break down a near public school monopoly. It will improve public schools by forcing them to improve their performance or lose out on tax dollars when parents choose to spend those tax dollars on homeschool, private school, private Christian school, charter school or other. As a Christian, my faith is banned from the public school and classroom and it has been replaced with Secular Humanism, Evolution, Big Bang Theory and the like. I should have the right to divert my tax dollars to the education system that is consistent with my faith and values and not in opposition to it.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

K-12 funded education is more than sufficient and in some cases does not align with the needs of some families. I am a big fan of "vocational technical" schools starting at grade 11 where kids can learn a skill or trade the last 2 years of high school rather than sitting in a class room. I do not believe that the NC State Constitution calls for taxpayer funded "higher-education".

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

I strongly disagree with this and believe in many cases it is a violation of the 2nd amendment and Religious Liberty to force an individual to provide a service that is contrary to their religious beliefs.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

None. Our NC Governor closed churches by limiting gatherings of 10 or more by Executive Order #121 (3/14/2020). He should be impeached for violation of the NC State Constitution Article 1, Section #13 so that never happens again.

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

Separation of Church and state is one of the most misunderstood phrases in our culture, our government, our politics and the law. This was NOT part of the founding fathers documents or thinking. Separation of Church and State is NOT part of our Constitution. Nearly all of our colonies aligned with a Christian Denomination of one kind or another (Quakers, Shakers, Methodists, Baptists, Lutherans, etc.). The founding fathers did not want the Federal Government picking or preferring one Denomination over the others which would give preference to a specific colony. So the "original intent" was NOT that the Church stay out of the state but rather that the Federal Government NOT pick a Denomination over the others. Christians and Christianity has a huge role in government; see the NC State Constitution "Preamble" along with Article 1, Section #13 and Article 6, Section #8 for requirements of State Government elected officials to acknowledge the Creator/The Almighty or be disqualified from service.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

Probably "C". Unfortunately, these systems are in place and many are dependent and reliant on these programs. With that said, they need to be reduced in size, scope and scale.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

None!!! If you do not control your own body, you are not free... you are a slave! As a pro-life Christian, i cannot support vaccine mandates that force a vaccine onto and into people that is abortion derived or contains aborted fetal tissue. I tried very, very hard to get HB 558 passed in NC that would have stopped all vaccine mandate but the Republicans and Democrats in the NC General Assembly opposed the legislation. If elected, we will get HB 558 or some bill like it passed BANNING ALL VACCINE MANDATES!!! Regarding schools, under NC law kids and opt out for religious reasons from vaccines but this is not widely known or advertised and this is what my wife and i utilized for our kids and they are not vaccinated. Vaccines as with all other medical procedures should be a choice by the individual and not forced upon someone under threat that they will terminated from their job, kicked out of school or tossed out of a government building.

EDUCATION

States should allow parents to use the Opportunity Scholarship Program to fund private school for their children.

Strongly Agree

Yes, i 100% support school choice and parent's rights to divert their tax dollars to the school system or institution of their choosing that aligns with their faith and values. FYI...My kids go to a private Christian School and we still pay taxes to support secular public schools. So we pay twice because we feel it is that important to raise our kids in the "fear and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4).

In what situations does a parent not have the right to know what their child is being taught in public school?

All situations! There is NO case where a topic, subject or information should be given to a student WITHOUT parental notification. Public schools should not be in the business of indoctrinating kids or hiding what is taught to a child. God gave children to "PARENTS" not to the State, Public Schools or the culture.

When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?

Never. Obviously there may be limits on time or the number of parents that can speak at one meeting. But School Boards should welcome parental involvement and comments at all times.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

Read the NC State Constitution Preamble for how clear it is that Judeo-Christian values established the framework of our State Government in NC.

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

God created two genders. He (God) created "male" and "female". The Book of Genesis in the Bible is clear on this.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

There is one race which is the "human race". We are all created in the image of God. So i oppose CRT which seeks to divide and destroy our founding fathers, our founding documents and ultimately our laws and culture.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Romans 1:16. For i am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation for those that believe; to the Jew first and also to the Greek. My faith in Jesus Christ and the Bible informs all of my world views and is the first place i go to when determining a position on an issue.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

In a COVID world where "vaccine passports" are being pushed to travel, go to stores and live your life, it is insane to think one can vote without showing an ID of some kind. This is our most important civil duty and it deserves to be protected. Showing an ID to vote and ensure a fair and legal voting process and prevent voter fraud is nothing to ask.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Redundant voting methods which include paper ballots and electronic ballots with automatic audit if the two did not add up to the exact same number. Voter ID is a must. Paper ballots should be kept for 90 days minimum if they are not already.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Our Threats are at the border, economic (inflation) and those who are looking to surrender our national sovereignty among others. I do not believe that racism is a domestic security threat. It is an issue that is used by Democrats and the Media in election years to divide our nation and distract us from real issues and true politically accountability of elected officials.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

(A) i believe that "global warming" or "climate change" has become a near religious cult by many. It is not based in fact, data or science. It has become the worship of mother earth. We are seeing now the massive mistakes made by Joe Biden and the extreme far left who shut down the Keystone Pipeline on the first day of his presidency each time we go to the pump. We need energy independence now more than ever due to what has happened between Russia and Ukraine. We can do both. We can address environmental issues and be energy independent and create jobs all at the same time. If we look at the nations around the world, the biggest threat to the "environment" is not fossil fuels but rather "poverty". When a nation is poor, it does not have the resources nor the will to address environmental issues and needs.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The general purpose of Government is to protect the nation via the military, provide law enforcement and the courts to protect life, liberty and property and encourage good morals. All laws passed by Government are moral judgements on what is good and what is evil and what is promoted and what is punished. As a Christian, i believe that God has delegated a portion of his power to the State to protect the people. John Adams said that "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other". So i believe that government should encourage good morals and punish bad was not as defined by me but by his Word which is the Bible.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

If you read my answers, i think you will agree with this.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

If you speak to anyone that knows me, they will tell you who i am and what i believe. I have not run for office before so i don't have many if any interviews or media reports. You can probably get podcasts from Cornerstone Church in Clayton, NC where i sometimes spoke on Sundays and that is online.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No. I am licensed architect with the State of NC and that comes with a Conduct Clause. So i have to address this and keep a clean record each year with re-licensing.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

My yes is my yes, and my no is my no.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

I agree with this with "qualified immunity" . Clearly having a badge does not give a law enforcement officer unlimited rights to do whatever they want. But by in large, i very much agree with personal qualified immunity.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

NO! I do not support any portion of the "Defund the Police" movement. mental health care workers are NOT police officers or law enforcement officers.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Very few. I do not support any fees for having the right to own or carry a gun as this is a 2nd amendment right. However, i do support a "background check" for prior crimes, court orders or mental health checks before a gun permit is issued (at no cost).

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

What someone does with a gun, a knife, a car, or a pipe is the responsibility of the criminal that misused whatever weapon they could find. We do not hold car manufacturers responsible when someone kills someone with a car. We do not hold steak knife manufacturers responsible when someone kills someone with a steak knife. Why would a gun manufacturer be held responsible in civil court for producing a gun which is a 2nd amendment right to have and use in lawful circumstances.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Would you support legislation that prohibits biological boys from competing on girls sports teams?

Yes

We need to protect our daughters from unfair competition. A biological male has a competitive advantage over biological females.
