QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Abortion is never medically necessary to save a women’s life. There is a fundamental difference between abortion and necessary medical treatments that are carried out to save the life of the mother. Prohibition of abortion doesn’t affect the availability of optimal care to pregnant women. When a ‘life in danger’ medical condition arises, the solution is not to directly kill the baby, but to address the women’s medical situation.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
If federal, then I recommend eradicating the income tax. If state, then no change. Florida's economy is out-performing the national average and our state treasury has a 21.8 B surplus.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
The FL state budget is above the national average. Now is not the time to be cutting services to our citizens.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
Not everyone will be attending college. There is no need to attend college and not everyone is academically inclined to attend college. Our economy has many jobs as in vocational jobs that don't need academic degrees.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
The government cannot force a kosher delicatessen to sell ham sandwiches.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Never. Unconstitutional.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
The government can encourage employers and employees to collectively bargain for lower group rates for private insurance. C. Only those who fully qualify for these two healthcare programs should receive them. The qualifications must be fully reformed.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
When the vaccination is proven safe and the employee is at elevated risk of exposure to the disease or placed by employer at a risk of exposure.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Embrace our Muslim neighbors-they too hate terrorism-as we stand side by side protecting our constitutional freedoms. A free and just society is our best defense.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Disagree
There are better ways to work for justice and peace in the Middle East that maintains the rights of the Palestinian people and security of the state of Israel. Positive social and political engagement is key.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Disagree
Decisive action is urgently needed to cease the flow of illegal drugs that are devastating American communities-primarily black-and to stop human trafficking of Latinos which is modern day slavery.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Any person who is not a criminal and follows immigration policies/laws for qualification. We are a nation of immigrants and a beacon of hope for the world.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
This provides maximum power and choice to the parent regarding the education of their children.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
All religions stress the importance of good actions and family values. This should not be interpreted to exclude other religions. They all preach good deeds, good citizenship and family values.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
I support human rights for all people. All Americans have rights.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Agree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Whoever believes that all American institutions are fundamentally racist must logically believe that all American institutions are illegitimate. Although, America has a history of racial injustices, we also have a history of continuous advancement of civil rights. Our American institutions have upheld these rights.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
The founders of our nation came here seeking religious freedom and believed they were guided by divine providence to establish a nation where all faith could enjoy these freedoms. I wholeheartedly stand by the same Biblical principles that guided them.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
The integrity and security of our elections is necessary for the proper functioning of our democratic institutions.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Better oversight of mail in ballots. Additional safeguard of computerized voting machines to include auditable paper and electronic records.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
America has made great strides to ensure civil rights and justice for all since the 1960s. The government should continue to monitor hate groups, but currently the threat to domestic security is minimal. Thanks to the efforts of our law enforcement and civil rights leaders-racism poses much less of a domestic security threat than a generation ago.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
The reconstruction era (1865-1877) had addressed this issue.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
Proper enforcement of established laws is sufficient at this time.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Choose not to answer
There is no hydraulic fracking in Florida.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
"We the people of the United States, in order to form a more per-fect Union, established justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
I entrust maximum power to the people with the government remaining within its constitutional boundaries.
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
I have spoken on public radio stations and at several Republican clubs.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
Never
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
In the military the leader does not eat until the soldiers have eaten, because it is the leader's responsibility to ensure the soldiers have enough to eat. Similarly, the government should put the people first. I would continue this servant-leader role in the Florida legislature.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
It is required that police officers follow department policies established by elected leaders and vetted by teams of lawyers. If the police officer is in good faith acting in the capacity of their office then we cannot prosecute them for doing their job.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
Community and mental health programs are important. The state of Fl has a $21.8 budget surplus-so there is no need to cut police budget to secure other programs.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Proper enforcement of current gun laws are sufficient. No additional restrictions are required.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
