RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Life begins at conception. Rare exceptions for when the mother's life is in danger.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

If Roe v. Wade is overturned by the US Supreme Court, how far are you willing to go to roll back North Carolina's statutory abortion law that allows abortion up to 20 weeks?

Life begins at conception and abortion only approved in rare circumstances when the mother's life is at risk.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

Would you support a limitation on chemical abortion that protects women from taking abortion pills without the care and supervision of a qualified physician?

Yes

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

There are no circumstance in which the government can close a church.

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

Government exists to establish peace, order, and prosperity so the church can do what God calls the church to do. Government meant to ensure constitutional freedoms so that people are free to make individual choices, live in safety, and not hindered from knowing God and being redeemed.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C & D

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Mandatory vaccines infringe upon constitutionally protected religious freedoms.

ECONOMY

The government should do more to close the gap between the working class and the wealthy.

Agree

This is a complex issue and needs to be addressed in totality. Clearly government enforcement needs to be addressed but not at the expense of taking from one group to balance another group. It's not always a matter of adding more government regulations as it is clarifying roles and narrowing the scope of government focus to allow for all working class American's to gain and hold generational wealth.

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Support: business expensing that contributes to wage growth and increased job creation; lower corporate income tax rate in favor of businesses paying higher wages to employees; lower individual tax rates and pair with reducing/eliminating credits and deductions; focused tax reform that eliminates unjustified tax subsidies and special interest projects.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Neutral

EDUCATION

States should allow parents to use the Opportunity Scholarship Program to fund private school for their children.

Strongly Agree

In what situations does a parent not have the right to know what their child is being taught in public school?

There is never a situation in which a parent is denied knowing what their child is taught in school.

When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?

Parents should never be restricted from speaking in a school board meeting.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Would you support legislation that prohibits biological boys from competing on girls sports teams?

Yes

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

My Biblical Christian worldview is that our government was instituted to protect our unalienable rights from our own selfish tendencies. We need government and political systems that protect our rights such as: right to life, liberty, property, work, and worship from those who want to prevent it.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

As a first-time candidate I do not have a public history of disclosures, interviews, or public conversations to pull from.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

Anne Marie Peacock will bring experience, compassion, and a common-sense approach to representing the Constituents of NC. As a former Army Officer, who cut her teeth as an enlisted soldier, Anne Marie knows first-hand the effort and discipline needed to successfully handle current challenges and build for the future. She is ready to meet the demands of representing the interests of every member of District 88 in the North Carolina General Assembly. Like all veterans, Anne Marie fought to defend the U.S. Constitution and continues to do so. As a leadership consultant and aspiring small business owner, Anne Marie has worked with the less fortunate, helping them transform their lives and achieve upward mobility. Deeply compassionate, Anne Marie volunteers as a rescue foster for the Humane Society of Charlotte. As your State Representative in the North Carolina General Assembly count on Anne Marie to fight for you without sacrificing her core principles. She will always have an open door and sympathetic ear whenever you have an issue she can assist with. Work to combat inflation with sensible fiscal policies to help individuals, businesses, and local governments. Work with local officials and Law Enforcement to reduce crime, ensure fair and appropriate sentencing, and enact measures to reduce recidivism. Promote policies and programs to improve Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools' performance and ensure all students are prepared to launch post-high school. Promote Universal School Choice for students to enable parents to select the right education for their child - public, private, charter, or home schooling Support Veterans through increased outreach for physical and mental health services, favorable taxation, and employment opportunities Seek policies to require and hold accountable all North Carolina municipalities to adhere to United States and North Carolina immigration policies Work to reform State and Local Public Health Bureaucracies to ensure healthy communities and individual freedoms Support election reform so all eligible citizens can vote in secure, transparent and fair elections. Anne Marie remains centered on her Christian faith and enjoys life coaching with women, building a part-time leadership consulting business, and volunteering her time for several organizations, including the Humane Society of Charlotte. Anne Marie is a credentialed Life & Leadership Coach and holds a Bachelor’s in Communications/PR and a Master’s in Organizational Leadership. Three key policy priorities of Anne Marie’s campaign are: Local Economy & Inflation. Help families who are being hurt by inflation by protecting North Carolina's economy with sensible fiscal policies, and fight back against the destructive policy coming out of the Biden Administration. Education Reform & Parents Rights. Your tax dollars should follow your child to the school you believe will be the most beneficial for your child. Parents are the final authority on all matters concerning their children and should have free and open access to review any material being used to educate their child. Crime & Law Enforcement. Rising crime threatens the security of all North Carolinians. Law enforcement officers must be trained to resolve disputes peacefully when possible, but also held to the highest standards of professional conduct when they act to protect the public with force. Like many of her fellow Americans, Anne Marie wants to return both North Carolina and the United States to the constitutional principles that have protected individual freedom and allowed the State and Nation to grow and prosper. In her words, “I know what failed leadership looks like. I know what failed morality looks like. We need to right the ship, and I want to be one of the State House Representatives that will keep North Carolina firmly in-step with the Constitution, especially as the White House pushes their unconstitutional policies. Make no mistake - there is a coordinated effort to ruin our country and we need a Republican super-majority in the NC general assembly to protect ourselves locally.”

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in God and have a personal growing relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. I am in the world but not of the world. My morals and principles are guided by the Bible and the Constitution.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

We currently need to fight to enact current laws already in place! Hold elected officials accountable for not following the law or abusing their positions.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I strive for race to cease being a factor in politics and our culture. This may be a state of affairs that may never be fully reached and know that racial discrimination in the system exists. But that statement does not endorse the idea that our entire system needs to be thrown out. American history continues to show we are a country of reform as we pass constitutional amendments and civil rights acts to combat racism and other cultural divisiveness. Political agendas are what threatens our current domestic security as it flames hatred and divides humanity. Our country is at another significant crossroads and cannot honestly yet tell if racism is a true and viable threat to our security. I can, however, demise we are dangerously close to crossing a point of no return or regret if not only our elected officials and church leaders step up but also our community leaders take charge of tangible conversations and actions to speak truth and highlight, through action, how racially united are country is.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A
