QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

The right to life should be protected from conception to natural death.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Consumption-based taxes are the fairest form of taxation; those that buy more pay more.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Ohio already has a balanced budget, but that does not mean we are spending dollars in the most efficient manner. We should ensure that our level of taxation does not overburden our working class simply to maintain current levels of government spending. I am a proponent of government collaboration through shared services to facilitate budget reductions.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

Taxpayers should not be asked to fund college degrees. Doing so would serve to disincentivize the skilled trades, which are already seeing a large workforce gap, at a time when we should be promoting these jobs as family-sustaining career opportunities.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Governments should not be in the business of closing churches absent criminal activity.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. These programs should be viewed as part of a social safety net, and not a way of life.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Current vaccination laws should not be expanded.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Did not answer

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

America is the greatest country in the world. We should welcome immigrants who seek to enter the U.S. legally, but that does not mean we should not secure our borders from those seeking illegal entry.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Expanding protected classes has a disparate impact on small businesses.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Choose not to answer

The premise of the statement is flawed. Marriage is a God-ordained and sacred union of man and woman. Government recognizes marriages for census and tax purposes.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a devout Roman Catholic.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

I support Photo ID requirements to vote in person, and multi-factor authentication (2 or more unique identifiers) to vote absentee.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

As long as some in politics and our national media seek to divide us, then racism will continue to be perceived as a bigger problem than what it truly is. We should seek to stamp out racism where it does exist, but it is not as prolific as our national media would have us believe. It should not be controversial to say that our children are not born racist.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

Common sense regulation makes sense when narrowly tailored to meet a need. Advancing renewable energy for nothing more than the sake of advancing renewable energy, when it is not technologically able to meet demand, will lead to overtaxing our energy grid, increased risk of rolling blackouts and putting lives at risk.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

Government exists to defend our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Dan Crenshaw says this best, that these are “Two things that we ought to have as such—and one thing that we deserve merely to pursue. Government should not guarantee happiness but clear the path for us to chase it.” Government should work to ensure equality of opportunity, and not equality of outcomes.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

Though I promise to be a strong conservative voice on many issues, my campaign has focused on: Putting People Back to Work: We currently are in a workforce crisis in this country. As someone who has worked nearly a decade in workforce development, I know we can build on existing state resources to create a pipeline of meet the needs of our state’s job creators. Being 100% Pro-Life: Being pro-life—from conception to natural death—is more than a campaign slogan. Ohio should be a leader not only in protecting life in the womb, but also in creating streamlined pathways for adoption and assisting foster children as they age out of the state system. Cutting Government Red Tape: Businesses and individuals cannot prosper with the weight of government deciding who and what is essential. Small businesses in particular are the backbone of the American economy, and Ohio needs to do more to reduce overburdensome regulations.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Agree

Qualified immunity is essential for our police to do their jobs, but it is not absolute when an officer acts outside the scope of his duties.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

We should focus efforts to protect public safety on things that actually work, like single point-of-entry at our schools.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree
