QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Strongly Agree
Abortion Providers are just that - abortion providers. Abortion Providers are not values providers or morals providers; they are abortion providers. When we value abortion, it is because society has taught us to value the opposite of life - - death. Why would we value death in our schools while simultaneously adhering to a 0% tolerance for bullying? Abortion is not planning out parenthood; it is is planning out death.

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
A fetal heartbeat means cardiac activity or the steady and repetitive rhythmic contraction of the fetal heart within the gestational sac. A Gestational age means the amount of time that has elapsed from the first day of a woman’s last menstrual period. If human life is not valued in the womb, it will not be valued outside the womb. When we learn to value who's inside the womb, we'll learn to value life outside the womb.

ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Free enterprise offers more than equality of income; it offers equality of opportunity. Allen West says it best: "One of the main differences between conservatives and progressive socialists is that the former believe in protecting each individual's opportunity to succeed, while the latter believe in having the government provide them with the same outcome, thus rewarding everybody the same way."

School districts should be able to use taxpayer money for lobbying the state legislature.
Strongly Agree
Schools are non-partisan; lobbying by its mere definition is the act of lawfully attempting to influence the actions, policies, or decisions of government or elected officials; therefore lobbying is partisan; schools are non-partisan.

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
Student aid should be available to all schools - public and non-public schools of choice Pre-K through college.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.
Strongly Agree
If the caveat is "including Christianity," there stands the bias. Yes, students should be able to speak freely about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity without the threat or penalty of consequence. America was founded on Christian principles, so if conversations in classrooms involve matters of conscience and faith, students would be remiss to remove American history through the excluding of our Christian heritage.

Students should not be allowed to pray in school.
Strongly Disagree
When we study our history and learn of people groups who enslaved others for profit and while doing so, stripped them of their ethnic identity, we ascribe that behavior as inhumane. When we remove the ability to pray in school, we are stripping people of their spiritual identity.

EDUCATION
What is the function of the local school board?
The function of the school board is to, along with parents, students, staff, faculty, and the community, build the strategic plan for the district. That strategic plans acts as the North Star which governs and provides boundaries to ensure the opportunities, choices, and goals are actualized. Through this strategic plan, visions, policies, tax rates, and budgets are adopted. With this plan, the entire district holds themselves accountable to make sure the North Star stays in place for today, tomorrow, and the future. When the local school board agrees on the plan, that sense of unity is actualized in the classrooms as studies have shown that board member unity/discord and retention/attrition affects children negatively or positively. What happens in the board room does not stay in the board room. Children feel the impact of board room decisions in the classrooms. This is why the relationship between the school board members must be functional and healthy because the health of entire communities depend on it.

Who should have the authority to set curriculum and determine resources used in those curricula?
Parents, staff, community, students, and teachers should have stakeholder interest and the authority to decide. Curriculum governance should not be decided in a silo. Unfortunately, not everyone who serves on the board as a trustee has the best interest of children in mind and therefore the board - even as team - should not have the sole governance to decide what curriculum is being implemented in schools. Simultaneously, a part of a strategic plan for a district is deciding what curriculum is from the adherents of the curriculum - those who teach it (staff and teachers) and those learn it (students). Allen West says it best: "Education should be based on cooperation among the state local government, and parents, with a built-in-accountability system to promote quality curriculums."

When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?
Parents should not be restricted. Ideologies and philosophies should be restricted, the 1st amendment is still constitutional.

Before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE) or Social Emotional Learning (SEL), they must opt-in with written parental permission.
Strongly Agree
Absolutely! Parents who believe the home is the nucleus of the family will teach those disciplines at home and opt of those courses. Conversely, parents who believe the school is the nucleus of the family will opt for those courses.

The loss of local control in education is too high a price to pay in exchange for federal dollars.
Strongly Disagree
Local control is essential, necessary, and will always be timely. Individual states are in the best position to make decisions on funding and strategies for improving and sustaining schools.

I support the teaching of curricula (such as the 1619 Project, No Place for Hate, Second Step, etc.) that emphasizes slavery and racism as the foundation of American history.
Strongly Disagree
The 1619 Project, No Place for Hate, Second Step and all the other Marxist driven curricula have a plank, and that plank is a framework that teaches history in the context of racism is not an outlier, but is the foundation of how America was built. The CRT plank is that racism is the central narrative of America's existence and that is not true. Racism is a part of America's narrative, but it is not the crux, the central theme of America's narrative.

VALUES
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a part of a community of Believers called Christians and we believe there is only one true triune God who is self-existent and yet relational. This belief guides my thoughts, words, actions, and ideologies. John Maxwell noted that a person makes somewhere around 35,000 decisions a day. No person on the planet has time to give thought to what they will think 35,000 times. Our morals and values guide our decisions. Conversely, our lack of morals and values guide our decisions. My adherence and friendship with the Triune God guide my day and night and this is why I serve as a public servant to my communities and beyond.

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
Parents are responsible for teaching sexual education to children. Parents may decide when is the appropriate age. It is not a lie that the age of sexual education has gradually lowered from year to year. There was a time when children were taught sexual education when they approached their teen years. Due to the infiltration of sex and pornography so readily available on social media, children are awakened to sex, but in devastatingly unhealthy ways. If the home is the nucleus of the family, then sex is taught and discussed at home. Unfortunately, not all homes value 2 genders and so sex is taught as a course and not a covenant. It is taught as curriculum and not as covenant. Nonetheless, to hand off sex education to the school is to tell children, "The school is your mom and dad and whatever they say is right." Nonsense. Children should learn about procreation and sex from their parent(s).

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- Physical and emotional health outcomes; contraceptive methods; consent; abstinence; sexual orientation and gender identity; human anatomy/the reproductive system; abortion methods and side effects; stages of pregnancy and fetal development; sex acts and pleasures of sex
I do not support Sex Ed.

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
Absolutely agree! As an Assistant Principal, if I had a dime for every time I heard a teacher or parent quote the proverb "Spare the rod, spoil the child," I'd be rich. That's a Judeo-Christian value and parents and teachers miss the actualization of that proverb. If I had a nickel for every time I heard a stakeholder say, "This all changed when they took prayer out of school," I could have retired years ago. People yearn for a non-negotiable framework of morality.

Teachers who are licensed to carry should be allowed to carry guns at school.
Strongly Disagree
Everyone in a school cannot be CPI trained. Why? The likelihood of child restraint increases when everyone believes a child needs to be restrained. People, when given the opportunity, will actualize their rights and qualifications. The likelihood of a teacher using a gun increases when everyone believes the time to use a gun is rationale.
