ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Tax code changes is a topic I need to study further to be able to answer that question specifically and intelligently. First, I oppose any proposal that would increase any tax. We should be looking for multiple ways to decrease taxes and I can say that I want to reduce taxes as much as possible. Any taxes that prohibit or make it more difficult for Small Businesses in particular to be successful would be where I would begin. We should be doing everything we can to ensure Small Businesses have the least amount of tax required or no taxes at all. A successful Ohio is one that will focus on removing barriers to entry for Small Businesses and keeping the cost to run a business as low as possible. Ohio should take steps to help move the balance away from consolidated big corporate manufacturing and retail and shift to entrepreneurial small business owners. This will create an ideal situation for Ohioans to focus on their passions and bring great products and services to the market, increase competition and product quality and shift the balance of success back to the businesses we have lost over the past decade. Sales and excise taxes should be reviewed as well as the overall State tax that may also be considered. We need to make it easy, desirable and affordable to move and stay in Ohio.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Across the board reduction in budgets to as many agencies as possible. We need to do a thorough analysis and accounting of what is being used and where the money is going. We also need an evaluation of the effectiveness of each agency. The obvious situation is related to health care as that has expanded greatly due to the pandemic (Hospital Associations, DOH and all of the connected agencies such as CDC, NIAID, NIH). It was capitalized upon as an excuse to spend without analysis or consequence and it must be cut off and reduced in all directions. The amount of Marketing dollars (using it as though it were Monopoly money) that were blatantly wasted on promoting and coordinating health care was needlessly astronomical and has been used to propagandize the People to move in a direction that benefits big business and big government, not in a way that results in better health for the People. This needs to be reversed immediately. The majority portion of the General Fund (which accounts for 45% of the total Ohio Budget funds Medicaid and Education Expenses. Both of which can be reduced based upon the waste we saw over the course of the last two years and the indoctrination efforts that spread across both of these largest expenditures. The Federal Fund Group is the next largest bucket of the Ohio budget and that would include the State apportionment. In these areas that come to mind are any agencies involved in travel (Homeland Security, TSA), transportation and communications (FAA, FCC), safety (OSHA), education (DOE), taxation (IRS), justice (DOJ), food production (FDA). The list is too long and the cuts that can be produced from these agencies should land a waterfall of money back into the hands of the People. The question is how far can we pull back from these expenditures, not whether or not we should. The Fiduciary fund is the next largest proportion and this can also use a haircut across the board. We saw overspending in all areas of Government. It should be small. So small that we do not notice it.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

Paying for college is a rite of passage. What we need is less government control of education and more open competition to reduce the cost and markets that are not joined under Government oversight. It's clear the Education system has been hacked and the public system is filled with political agendas rather than the true intention of developing skill sets and a love of learning and finding passion for what each student seeks. We should also place a new and revived emphasis on trade education.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Religious Liberty is protected under the Constitution. No one should be forced to participate in doing anything that goes against their religious beliefs. This is why our country was born in an effort to get away from such edicts.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

We have seen and it's now been proven that our Government cannot be trusted with even the simplest of things and especially providing health care. Medical mistakes are now the 3rd leading cause of death in the US next to Heart conditions and Cancer. Why would we want to allow them to continue to expand their reach in Health Care when they are literally killing 250,000 people per year? (https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/news/media/releases/study_suggests_medical_errors_now_third_leading_cause_of_death_in_the_us?preview=true) After what we have seen the past couple of years, my answer is D. Realistically, we would need a path to get there. We need a new revival of affordable health care options for people, including providing cleaner and healthier food and water and natural health care remedies so that people do not develop long-term health issues (of which many are a result of the society we live in and the products and chemicals we consume). The only way we get to a new system of more affordable health care is to open it up, decentralize it and create opportunities for more health care workers to open up small businesses to provide services in niche health service areas.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

First of all go back and get all the weapons, equipment and vehicles we left behind in Afghanistan and in parallel secure our borders. We will need a broad and comprehensive strategy to focus on both short and long term plans to ensure peace may be maintained in the face of radicalism. It will likely involve special operations forces.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

The decline in our society has been marked by a slow and steady dilution of moral and ethical code, which was driven by these values. Bring these back and maybe we can still save America.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

It only becomes a threat when the media uses it as a propaganda tool to purposefully divide the population with it.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A. HOWEVER - Our food and water supply is contaminated and our pharmaceutical products are causing us all to become sicker. The issue with the regulations is that all of the people who are supposed to be tasked with enforcing the regulations have been compromised. We need to ensure these agencies have the best interest of the People in mind and are not corrupted by lobbyists and outside influences. For example, Kroger is being sued for having Lead in their salad. HOW does a grocery store who supplies food get away with selling a product that contains lead? This is unfathomable to me. The problem is not with the regulations. The problem is that there is absolutely no one being held accountable for breaking all these laws - including the leadership in our Ohio State Government presently - and the People are being harmed.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I LOVE AMERICA. :) I'm the daughter of a WWII Marine Veteran who instilled in me a love for my country and a Mother who gave me my deep and unshakable faith and the youngest of 7, so I know how to survive and can make it an adventure along the way. I'm also a 25 year career businesswoman and a wife and mother (which is my biggest accomplishment) and we are a small family business restaurant owner.
