QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I believe that the life of an unborn child should be protected by law and abortion should be permitted when necessary to prevent the death of the mother, rape or incest.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Disagree

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Repeal the gas tax increase from 2019 based on the Federal government's infrastructure bill which will bring $11.5 Billion to Ohio for infrastructure. Completely eliminate personal income tax in Ohio over the next 10 years.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Reduce the amount of money that we spend on incarceration in Ohio by low level non violent offenders, training them and getting them to work. We can then reduce the budget and help the business community and Ohio economy.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

There are so many options for students upon graduation besides college. Tax payers should not be on the hook to pay for college when other vocational opportunities exist.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Religious liberties are protected under the First Amendment to the Constitution. Government should not close churches under any circumstance.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

While vaccination is an important component of public health, under no circumstances should a government, school, or employer force or require someone to be vaccinated. We need to balance the desires of the community with the desires of individuals, for which they can decide for themselves.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

While the FBI has increased its use of social media, the government should make sure that this tool is widely available in order to thwart attacks by terrorist groups. We need to address how social media provides a platform and a cloak of anonymity to terrorist extremists and conduct undercover stings — online and in person — to gather evidence and deter possible attacks in the United States.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

We need a layered approach to border security, one that includes technology, manpower, a commitment to the rule of law, and the elimination of incentives for illegal immigration.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

A legal path to immigration should be allowed in a way that protects American soveriengty. Priority admission should be granted under four circumstances: 1) immigrants who are immediate relatives of U.S. citizen(s), 2) family sponsored preferences, 3) employment based preferences and 4) refugees. I, along with the majority of Americans agree that legal immigration of approximately 1.1 million people annually. Like other countries, I also believe should have an emphasis on highly skilled workers as that is beneficial to the American economy.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Neutral

I believe Marraige is God-ordained, sacred and a legal union of one man and one woman. However, there are other religions that believe differently and they should be free to express their faith and religious ordinances without interference from the government.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Disagree

Critical Race Theory is a dangerous ideology that only further exacerbates hatred and division in the United States by indoctrinating kids early about racism rather than educating them on the value of diversity, equity and inclusion. I support initiatives that brings people together, unites people amongst race and does not make any ethnic group feel superior or inferior to others.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. I love God and practice the Christian faith. My values and beliefs are God centered which provides me with peace and purpose. My faith helps me to love others as they are, and to serve humanity without judgment or condemnation. I believe in helping those that cannot help themselves and uplifting people to help them become the best version of themselves. It is important to be kind to others, lead by example and treat others the way that you want to be treated.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

To increase confidence, election integrity and fair elections, all voters should have to provide photo identification in order to cast their ballot.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

The underlying goal should be that it is easy to vote but hard to cheat. To that end, I would propose an expansion of voter registration to allow automated voter registration and verification whenever people visit the Bureau of Motor Vehicles and to update their addresses, driver license numbers, legal name changes, and other information. I would also propose requiring a photo I.D. to vote, and that voters must be U.S. citizens.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Yes. Any kind of racism is a violation of human rights. As a country we cannot live up to our potential if racism is not addressed and abolished. We need to demand racial justice from all of our individuals and institutions and strive for full inclusivity.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Disagree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Agree

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The general purpose of government is to protect the liberties the and freedoms that are granted to us by God and the U.S. Constituion.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

https://www.gongwer-oh.com/news/?newsedition_id=9116202 Senate District 3: Candidates Put Family First In Tight Race

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I have a family-first agenda. My mission is to ensure that Ohio families have a protected path to prosperity that will help them actualize their version of the American dream. My goal is to help eliminate barriers that threaten the safety, security and sustainability to Ohio families. That means addressing inflation, preparing a strong workforce, addressing crime and improving education.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Agree

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I defend second amendment right to bear arms, and believe that people have the right protect themselves and their families. However, freedom comes responsibility and responsible gun ownership is in everyone's best interest. To protect public safety, restrictions should be placed on those who lack responsibility based on immaturity (underage), mental incapacity (mental deficiency or illness), and those with known violent propensities (violent behavior, violent criminal history). To accomplish this, we need universal background checks and a system of accountability.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
