QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
If mother and baby are at risk I would like to think that would be only a last resort. I believe all life is sacred and there is no definitive answer as to when life begins. A life is still a life no matter the current condition. Personally, I struggle with even this but I also understand that there are situations where both mother and baby are doomed if the pregnancy is not terminated.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Agree
I do not believe in any taxpayer dollars being used to perform or advocate for abortion. I understand that these organizations do more than just abortions though
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Disagree
I just don't feel like this is a good thing to endorse. There are too many ways that this could be abused.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I am a believer in a flat tax rate. Everyone should pay their fair share
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
All of it. I think the fed really needs to be audited in order for us to really understand where the waste is
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree
While I don't think the government should be paying for people to go to college I do think that there needs to be some new regulations on government-sponsored student loans. The cost of a college education has gotten astronomical. I believe that this is a result of the greedy institutions that wanted the maximum amount of taxpayer dollars per student.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
This is the land of the free. As a rule, business is business to me. However, I don't think the government has the right to force someone to violate their convictions. They have right's to if they choose not to sell to someone for their religious reasons that is their choice, not the state and definitely not the federal government
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
None. It is the right of every American to worship how they see fit. We don't have to all agree we just need to all get along. The government has no right to interfere with relegion.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C. This is a much more complicated issue than we currently make it out to be. I am not a fan of government health care.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
With a local Vote, The people should decide not the government
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Terrorism is not a war you can fight. There is not really an army or country of origin. We need to work with our allies and remove the threat piece by piece. There is no short-term solution.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Neutral
I do not know enough about this subject to make a good case one way or the other. At first glance, I have issues with the hostile occupation of a foreign nation by anyone including Israel.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
I do not believe we should allow illegal immigration. No countries allow illegal immigration.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
There are rules already in place follow them
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
I was homeschooled K-12 and my wife is a teacher. This gives me a unique perspective on the education system. I think that the numbers don't lie.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Agree
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
All classes are protected under the laws that govern this country. I don't think we need special laws.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Agree
Marriage is a biblical term. There are too many ramifications that may or may not interfere with people's religious freedoms. If you would legalize gay "marriage" then what would prevent someone who is openly gay from suing a religious organization because they would not endorse and perform a "marriage" that violates their religious beliefs. That said I do not hate anyone I just believe that marriage is a religious ceremony.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a follower of the teachings of Jesus Christ
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Why would we allow someone to vote who is unable to show proof of who they say they are. You need two forms of ID to open a bank account.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I think all voting needs to be audited at this point.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I am not a racist and I don't really know anyone who is truly racist. I do think there are a number of popular organizations that are both racist and commit domestic terrorist-level acts of aggression. But I do not think racism is a threat to domestic security.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
I'm not going to answer that one way or the other. I believe that we need to take care of our environment. I don't think that the information that is being distributed freely about it is accurate. There is currently no viable way to get away from fossil fuels in a matter of years we are looking at Decades
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Agree
I do. I do think there needs to be some oversight on it. The oversight should probably be both government and private. There are issues that can be created by irresponsible acts by companies acting on greed.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The government has a responsibility to represent the people. We do not need anyone else in our government who is pushing their own agenda. There are things in every level of society that needs to be managed and paid for from fire and police to the military and public roads. As Lincoln said "government of the people, by the people, for the people"
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
NA
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
As a husband and father, I believe it is a parent's responsibility to make the world a better place for their children. I decided to run because I believe that as Americans we need to fight for America. That starts at the State and Local Levels. I did not enter into this election with an agenda nor do I plan to develop one. I entered because I believe we that the job of a public servant is to represent the public not your own agenda.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Agree
I do not think you can process an Officer who is following the rules set out by the department. My brother-in-law is a police officer and I am a big supporter of the police. This is a broad statement in my opinion.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Disagree
I don't think we should divert funds away from the police departments. I'm not saying that I would not support these types of programs. I'm just saying the funds should not come from the police budget.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
There are more than enough gun laws as it is.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
How can we blame a manufacturer for someone else's misuse of a product that works as it should
