OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Congress should repeal the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Disagree

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Agree

The U.S. military should wait for militant Islamic groups to directly threaten our national security on our shores, rather than eradicate them now wherever they may be worldwide.

Strongly Agree

The United States must maintain a nuclear arsenal that is safe, reliable, modern and numerically superior to those of potential adversaries.

Agree

I support legislation such as the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) that would prohibit discrimination against individuals, organizations and small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

The federal government should establish Common Core as a nationwide academic standard for high school graduation.

Strongly Disagree

I oppose the resettlement of Syrian refugees into the U.S. without proper vetting.

Current regulations on domestic oil exploration and drilling are more restrictive than are necessary.

Agree

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health care and a livable income.

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

As long as a developing child is dependent on the woman for nourishment, it should be considered the woman's property to carry or not as she thinks best. Only the woman knows whether or not the child will be loved and cared for, and only the woman's judgement counts. Any restrictions on a woman's choice would lay the legal groundwork for severe restrictions on women's diet, lifestyle, and freedom. For a picture of such a future see: murphy444.org/FederalMaternityLaws.pdf The Roe v. Wade decision should be considered a good compromise on this issue for Christians, since religious traditions hold that a child doesn't receive a soul until it quickens at about three months.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The seven deadly sins - Pride, Envy, Wrath, Gluttony, Lust, Sloth and Greed.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I subscribe to the Christian views of Arius, the 4th Century Bishop who fought with Athanathius at the Nicene Council in 325 AD. Don't do unto others what you don't want them to do to you. Love your neighbor as yourself. Luke 17:21 - "...Behold, the kingdom of God is within you."

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

I'm a Libertarian, so none of the above categories apply. I would be considered conservative in economic policy, and liberal in social policy. I'm a strict protector of both gun rights and women's choice. I want to repeal the Federal Reserve Act that Wall Street has used to corrupt our currency, as well as the Harrison Narcotics Act that led to the development of the Drug War and the militarization of our police. I have run for office many times in the past 40 years advocating a return to our founding principles of individual liberty and individual responsibility, and I'm personally responsible for initiating the Term Limits movement with a report on the subject to the Oklahoma Constitution Commission at an OCU meeting in 1987. I consider our foreign wars to be a racket, serving to enrich the coffers of military contractors and the egos of game-playing strategists who are happy to spend our blood and treasure on their whimsical notions of world domination.

Additional comment from candidate:

I'm a sinner, but I've dedicated a big portion of my life to trying to educate as many as I can that our government is in the hands of unelected bureaucrats who think they know what's best for us, and they use the law to force their ways on us. Every transaction is recorded, and almost every aspect of our lives is under some sort of control. The Constitution is ignored, and our culture is under threat. The two major parties focus on power, the power to print money, to borrow, to define crime, and to wage war. The Libertarian Party is the only party that focuses on individual liberty and individual responsibility. Remember that freedom is the genius of American civilization. Other great nations were born in conquest, but ours was born with the Declaration of Independence and the enshrinement of individual rights. Individual freedom has had its good days and its bad days in the United States, but that ideal has always survived. It is our answer, and our hope.
