QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

This should be between a student and the child.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Teachers should be required to refer to students by pronouns which are misaligned with their gender at birth even if it would violate the teacher's moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Teachers should not be required to do anything that goes against their religious beliefs. If a child is misaligned and wishes to be referred by a different name or a different pronoun, I don't believe a teacher should be forced to refer to them as such.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

The Article 7, Section 1 of the Texas Constitution says that it shall be the duty of the Legislature to establish and make suitable provisions for the support and maintenance of an efficient system of public free schools. Education of our youth is one of our most important roles within our community. We must provide every child with what they need to be successful, and I believe public education should be adequately funded in order for that to happen.

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Strongly Disagree

Providing information about abortion or gender-affirming providers should be between a child and their parents. It should not be the responsibility of the school system to provide this to parents and students.

Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Strongly Agree

Teachers needs flexibility in the classrooms to discipline appropriately but they also need support from upper administration and their school board members.

Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?

Yes

Fort Bend ISD gives the option for parents to review instructional materials before they get approved, which I fully support.

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Strongly Agree

I 100% agree that we should be teaching our students the history of this great country and what it means to be an American citizen. We need to build productive members of society and create life-long learners and by teaching our students of the hard work of our Founding Fathers, it helps to shape their minds and see what was sacrificed in order to become a free society.

I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Strongly Disagree

I support the hiring of the best and most qualified candidates for the position. Without the best people, you cannot have the best outcomes.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

Language Arts (Reading), Math, Science, American History, Civics, Foreign Language, Information Technology, Vocational Learning, Personal Finances, Art and Music

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Disagree

I support School Choice and the State of Texas has school choice now. Parents can send their child to any school they want, however, I do not believe in allowing taxpayer money to be given to private institutions with no accountability to the taxpayers. Private schools do not have a publicly elected board of trustees to oversee the management of my tax dollars, and therefore less accountability. Private schools are also not held to the same standards as public schools.

Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?

While we want all students to succeed, every child learns differently. So having the same outcome for every student is not always possible. But we must do what we can to make sure every student has the same and equal opportunity to be successful. Equal opportunities could include, equal access to technology, online resources, in-class supports and small group participation.

Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.

Opt in

2ND AMENDMENT

Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.

Disagree

While I support the 2nd Amendment and personally have an LTC, I do not believe putting teachers with extremely minimal training in a very difficult and stressful active shooter situation is the best solution. Fort Bend ISD has an armed resource officer at every elementary school campus and every middle and high school has a FBISD police officer.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

In the event of a pandemic, school districts can mandate whatever health precautions they deem necessary (including masks and vaccines) to protect students and staff.

Strongly Disagree

Parents should have the option to wears masks or get vaccines for their children.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

I voted in these primaries and general elections:

2014 Republican Primary 2014 General Election 2016 Republican Primary 2016 General Election 2018 Republican Primary 2018 General Election 2020 Republican Primary 2020 General Election 2022 Republican Primary 2022 General Election

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian and I believe in family. I am a servant leader at heart and I serve the school district with integrity. I pride myself in being a voice of reason and listening to all who have questions. I work very hard for our students, and I want to see everyone be successful beyond high school.

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?

Parents should be responsible for this. And it should be taught at whatever age the parents feel is appropriate. Schools that offer it, there should be an opt-in so that parents can choose if they want their students to participate.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

Sex Ed should be limited to human anatomy and the reproductive system as well as physical health outcomes. Sex Ed should not include education about sexual orientation or gender identity, sex acts or abortion methods.

Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause infertility and a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.

Strongly Agree

Any sort of gender modification or gender transformation procedures is banned in the State of Texas and I fully support it. Our children are bombarded day in and day out by alternative lifestyles and it causes serious confusion among our youth. We need to stop subjecting our youth to harmful life-altering procedures and prevent them from making grave mistakes they will regret later in life.

Children have the right to be protected from hypersexualization (including drag shows and explicit materials) in schools and libraries.

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.

Strongly Agree

Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.

Strongly Agree
