QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I firmly believe that Life begins at the moment of conception. I further believe that all Life is precious in the sight of God, the Creator of Life. As such, the taking of Life through the act of abortion is diametrically opposed to God's intention for Life. I do not support abortion under any circumstance.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
My opposition to abortion also extends to any abortion provider receiving funding from any federal, state, and/or local government to continue this abominable practice.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
As the Giver of Life, only God has the supreme authority to determine the number of days we are given to live on this earth. Assisted suicide and euthanasia attempt to subvert the very authority of God, therefore, I do not support any legislation legalizing assisted suicide and/or euthanasia.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
For too long the moral and religious beliefs of citizens have been trampled and discarded as being "racist", "sexist", or any other "ist". Religious freedom and liberty is a founding principle of our great nation, and any attempt to suppress those freedoms and liberties should be fought at every turn.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Government action against a church should only occur if that church has taken overt, hostile action to overthrown the government of the United States. Otherwise, government regulation over churches should be strictly prohibited, except in an instance to immediately protect human life.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
As Islamic terrorism is a threat to the world it is important that our country is ever-vigilant to eradicate this threat. It is equally important that our country does not become involved in long-term conflicts or prolonged military presence on foreign soil. Not only does this place our soldiers in harm's way on foreign soil, but also weakens our overall national defense.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
Our nation has long stood beside Israel and defended the rights of Israel. This stance is a Biblical stance. I too stand beside Israel and oppose any legislation that would seek to pressure Israel to relinquish any part of her land.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C. However, stricter rules for applicability and eligibility must be implemented. Additionally, any funds so designated to Medicaid and/or Medicare should be scrutinized to ensure that those funds are indeed provided for those programs and those who are eligible for them.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Under no circumstance should the government, schools, or employers be allowed to require vaccinations.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
The tax code should be simplified to reduce "loopholes" which allow skirting of payment of legitimately-owed tax obligations. Simplification of the tax code would also provide transparency to tax filers and preparers, thus making the process easier to handle.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Our economy is in shambles, and increased taxation to support government wastefulness should not continue. Our government should be held accountable for the manner in which they spend the money the citizens entrust to the government. Reduction in the length of "entitlement programs" is an important part of reducing government spending. Any program that attempts to fill the place of individual responsibility should be carefully scrutinized, as those programs are among those that tend to foster wasteful government spending.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
Public education is not a right of the citizen. The opportunity to attend college should be available to all, however, that opportunity should not be guaranteed by taxpayer funding.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
While we are concerned with the threats occurring worldwide our nation remains vulnerable at our southern border due to the resistance to physically secure said border. Regardless of public perception of President Trump his assessment of our vulnerability was accurate - our nation can never truly be secure until we prevent rampant influx of drugs and domestic terrorist (gangs) into our nation through our southern border.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Our nation has long been a "melting pot" of diversity. All who desire to LEGALLY immigrate to our country should be allowed to do so. Our current immigration system is not broken, but only needs to be enforced.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
Parents are the proper authority to determine the best educational systems for their children. Parents should also have a choice as to which school system receives their tax dollars. School choice provides parents that right and also encourages competition amongst the school systems, which results in better education.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
The key is "conduct consistent with departmental policy". Any officer who operates outside those policies have ceased to operate as a protector of law-abiding citizens. Officers who do so should be prosecuted to the furthest extent of the law. Any officer who comports to those policies should be protected while on duty and performing their job.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
Our police departments have a difficult job as is. Any redirection of funding will further compromise their ability to enforce the law and protect the citizens.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Law-abiding citizens should have no restrictions on gun ownership. The right to keep and bear arms is a constitutional guarantee that requires no further restrictions. Our law enforcement officers are dedicated to protecting public safety.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
Firearms dealers and manufacturers should not be held responsible for the unlawful actions of others. Personal accountability is required, but lawsuits against dealers and manufacturers shifts the blame.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The general purpose of government is to provide a framework in which the citizens can exercise the freedoms and liberties guaranteed to them by the Constitution. Government should not control the lives of citizens but merely provide the opportunities necessary to succeed. Government should not dictate who success or who fails. Government should be limited in its effect upon its citizens.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
Each of the organizations of which I am a member support Biblical principles and the political views that I have expressed. I believe that a person can be characterized by the associations he keeps.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I will be a candidate for public service, not a politician. Voters will have open access to contact me to discuss their concerns and voice their opinions, whether in disagreement or support.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
Without strong Judeo-Christian values our country devolves into the moral abyss. Biblical principles would assist our elected officials in many of the difficult decisions they must make because Biblical principles are designed to please God and to benefit the whole of society, not just those with money, power, and influence.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
God created male and female. Period. The movement to promote this idea of "gender fluidity" is nothing more than a further attempt to remove any and every semblance of God and accountability to Him. "Gender fluidity" has resulted in the confusion of many of our youth, even resulting in suicide. As a Black man I find it extremely objectionable that a person's choice is given the same protection as the skin in which I was born.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Agree
Again, any attempt to redefine what God has created and instituted is merely another attempt to eradicate Him from our society.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Any doctrine that requires one race to be subservient to another race is evil. CRT has Marxist, socialist origins and seeks to further divide our country. Any attempt to rewrite the history of our great nation is done for ulterior motives.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe that God is the Creator of all. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins and to redeem man back to the Creator. As a Christian I have been called to be a Light to all. In so doing, every action that I take has to be guided by Biblical principles, therefore, my political beliefs must also align with those principles.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Part of election security is the integrity of each vote that is cast. Requiring photo identification is another means of ensuring election security and integrity.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Absentee voting has been problematic for years. Stricter compliance and perhaps new legislation is needed to ensure that all votes are being counted and that those votes are legitimate votes.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism is a tool utilized for the further division of our country. While our history has true accounts of racism, our present cannot be said to be rife with racism. One may be able to point to isolated incidents of racism in our country, but racism is not a threat to domestic security. The threat to our domestic security are those who would use racism to spark race wars and unrest.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
No people should be provided any funds based upon their race. Reparations are another attempt to further divide our country and to assuage the masses who believe they are "owed something". The "promise" of reparations is simply a tool utilized to cause racial unrest.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A. While laws and regulations are necessary, any law or regulation that stifles industry and results in loss of jobs is unnecessary. Legislation must include a common-sense approach to regulating energy while also protecting the environment. Too often the regulatory pendulum has wildly swung in extremes that provide no stability for our economy.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
Our nation is bursting at the seams with natural resources. Our nation should never be dependent upon others for energy when we have the ability to be self-sustaining.
