QUESTIONNAIRE*
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I am 100% opposed to abortion. If there are situations where the life of the mother is at risk, I support medical procedures {not abortion} to seek to preserve her life while doing all that is possible to save the life of the baby as well.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Never. This is the right of the churches and this decision belongs to them, not the government.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
"Walk softly and carry a big stick." - Teddy Roosevelt. We must be the world leader in defense and striking capability along with employing a respectful but "no nonsense" approach to countries who are engaged in such things.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Neutral
I generally support Israel, and would ideally love for them to be able to work this out. But in the meantime, we need to take seriously the threat of terrorism and the loss of a key ally.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C for now, but would love to see those replaced with free market alternatives!
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Never. Medical Freedom and constitutional rights must be honored.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
As a free market entrepreneur, current business owner and 10 year veteran of industry, I want to see tax burdens reduced across the board for individuals and business, along with burdensome taxes and regulations that hinder the growth of business, jobs and individual prosperity.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I would first strive to empower and work with the state auditor to audit all appropriate state entities and then help develop a plan of accountability that can be implemented at the local level to cut waste. This will help us identify areas where we can cut spending and then allow us to also do things like eliminate the gas tax and the grocery tax.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
We need to encourage young people to avoid college debt and work their own way through. This is a key & formative time. Working their way through school {as I did} is very impactful on young people for good.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
People who want to come here legally and walk through all our legal processes.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
As long as it is with "no strings attached" and the government can't control
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
We just need to make sure our departmental policies are fair and just!
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I believe in constitutional carry.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
"That the sole object and only legitimate end of government is to protect the citizen in the enjoyment of life, liberty, and property, and when the government assumes other functions it is usurpation and oppression." - Alabama Constitution, Article 1, Section 35
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
https://whnt.com/news/politics/your-local-election-headquarters/alabama-house-dist-7-candidates-on-the-issues-and-the-right-choice-for-voters/
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
My campaign slogan is "Make Alabama Local Again". I strongly believe that our rights, values, faith and freedoms must be the basis of how we vote and the decisions we make. I am firmly committed to serving my district "in the trenches", riding with farmers, visiting businesses, having "freedom forums" where I gather input from various groups and spear-heading bringing in businesses, maximizing local involvement and empowering our educational system with the moral courage and educational worldview to inspire an brand new group of leaders who love God and live in excellence in mind, soul and body. I have taught pre-k - 4th, high school literature, philosophy & logic, and ran a community college math lab for 2 years. I love our emergency services and am excited to get our community engaged like never before to serve and help and pull together toward freedom and a brighter future!
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Agree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a deacon at my Presbyterian church. I am a Protestant Christian and strongly hold to the idea that loving God and my neighbor is best and most fundamentally expressed in the 10 Commandments.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Government issued ID should be required
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
We need to gate/control HOW people get ID. I think they should have to do something like show their birth certificate to get it. And we need to enforce our ban on curbside voting and make sure that all our voting facilities are bi-partisan, that the voting machines are in NO way connectable to the internet and that the chain of custody for ballots is clearly marked and totally followed.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I don't believe it is as wide spread as some think it is. I want to lock arms with all races and serve in community projects. That will greatly help heal real or perceived racsims.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
