OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Disagree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I believe abortions are acceptable in the instances of incest and rape.

ECONOMY

Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.

Strongly Disagree

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Our nation's tax codes should be fair, equitable and easy for the average citizen to interpret. Although I am a staunch fiscal conservative, I do believe major U.S. corporations and our country's wealthiest citizens (i.e. top 1%) should pay higher corporate tax rates and a more equitable rate relative to other income tax brackets, respectively.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

Contrary to popular, common belief, the relationship between church and state in our country is not separate and never has been. Freedom of religion is protected under the United States Bill of Rights. Our national motto is "In God We Trust" and is printed on our national currency. There have only been a handful of members of Congress who have self-identified as atheists and our country has never had any completely, non-religious Supreme Court Justices, to the best of my knowledge. Like it or not, we are predominantly a faith-based nation and our democratic Republic is founded upon a belief in God and champions religious freedom.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

I do not support vaccine mandates and vaccine "passports." The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that COVD-19 vaccination can be mandated in healthcare workers in federally funded facilities. I believe the choice to receive or refuse a vaccine should be a joint decision between a patient and his/her healthcare provider without any other individuals or entities participating in that decision. I do not support compulsory vaccination as a condition of employment in any instances.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C. Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

C) The U.S. has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding own sovereignty unless in imminent danger.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

The U.S. must always intervene (by whatever means are necessary based on the specifics of the situation) when our country's citizens are harmed and/or killed by Islamic terrorist groups or individuals.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Individuals should only be allowed to enter and remain in our country if they immigrate here legally. Period.

VALUES

Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian. I was raised in the United Methodist Church. I support Judeo Christian values and always attempt to do my best to treat others the same way I would like to be treated in all aspects of life. I am a sinner and I make mistakes. I pray for forgiveness and my own and others' salvation.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

We already have to provide photo identification in so many different interactions and aspects associated with our daily lives. Why should having to provide proof of your identity with a current, valid photo in order to legally cast your vote even be an issue?

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

I would propose Federal legislation to abolish voter harvesting.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Reparations have been and are still being made in the form of affirmative action. No one has been a slave in this country for more than 150 years. Broad-scale reparations would in no way positively impact American society as a whole.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. The United States is not a racist country. The same opportunities are afforded to all citizens regardless of race or ethnicity under our current system of government.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Agree

We have to take safe and reasonable actions to restore the United States' energy independence.

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I am running for office because I believe our incumbent representative has completely broken trust with Congressional District 7 voters. I will be a Congressman who recognizes my role in being closest to the people and strictly represents their will in terms of Federal legislation and constituent issues impacting the district. I previously represented Congressional District 7 on the SC Board of Pharmacy from 2013 to 2020 during which time I learned a great deal about the regulatory process and public health policy. The following are my legislative priorities: 1) Sponsor and/or support Federal legislation to increase drilling and enhance oil exportation to restore our nation's energy independence, 2) Obtain Federal funding to promote new jobs and economic growth in the Pee Dee Region of SC, 3) Secure our nation's borders against illegal immigration and bolster our country's foreign policy to project peace through strength, 4) Oppose Federal gun control legislation, 5) Limit the role of government to prevent future overreach in public health.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Agree

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

No restrictions are necessary. Gun control legislation only hurts law-abiding gun owners. Criminals will always have access to guns through non-legal channels. Bad people don't care about gun control laws and law-abiding citizens who own firearms for sport shooting, hunting, and/or personal protection should not have their rights questioned as a result of the nefarious activities of criminals who don't obey gun laws anyway.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

The individual who uses a firearm illegally to injure another person is the guilty party, not the manufacturer of the firearm in question or the gun dealer who legally sold the firearm to the perpetrator.
