QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Nor should the federal govt give out corporate bail outs. I have seen enough death in my time in the Army around the world. I would ask that folks display empathy, compassion and love for women who had or are considering an abortion. We are called to love one another not condemn each other. We need to consider behind the counter medicines such as contraceptions that are available in most drug stores around the globe without a doctor's order.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Neutral

This is a personal issue perhaps a state level one. Definitely not a federal issue.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Death is absolute. Tolkien said it best, " Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement." The same conundrum rings true for those accosted by violence. Can we walk in their shoes?

ECONOMY

Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.

Disagree

Who will get to decide the amount? Why would we allow a bureaucrat or professional politician the ability to pick winners and losers. 2-4 years later the opposing party will try the same thing. This is not the purview of the Federal Government nor is constitutional. You may exercise your pursuit of happiness but you are not guaranteed it.

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

Additionally we must pass the Balanced Budget Amendment to prevent Republicans and Democrats from enslaving future generations with debt.

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Reduce tax burden of everyone to a flat tax 10% until the national debt is paid off and then consider another flat reduction or simply eliminate it.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Agree

Liberty in general is at risk.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Agree

No. Requiring business to submit allegiance to or funding something or someone in order to conduct business is called extortion and this practice is illegal.

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

The federal government does not have the authority to be in the business of religion nor of morality. If this were the case, every 2-4 years there is a political turnover that would seek to use the power of the federal government to bludgeon their political enemies on the basis of perceived morality grounds.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Some professions such as military service due to combat power considerations should require vaccinations. But administered vaccinations should be approved using pre-National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 standards free from political pressure and corporate persuasion. Testing of these vaccines often took 10 or more years to ensure long last effects were accounted for.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

It will take time but we ought to move toward D. Prior to President Reagan medical care was a service not business. After the establishment of well meaning regulations that formed HMOs, big pharma protectionism, and a host of subsequent government interference, unintended consequences have placed healthcare squarely into a corporate business model focused on financial cost benefit analyses, not on individual wellbeing.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

C closer D. I served in both Iraq and Afghanistan and despite spending over 8100 American lives, $8t and disrupting countless families for ever, we did not sow seeds of Freedom and Liberty in the 120 plus countries we conducted operations in. The United States government habitually protects our corporations by meddling in the affairs of other countries. This costs us in moral standing on the global stage.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Neutral

Americans have the right to support whatever they want. It is not the Federal Government's business.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Yep. It is imperative that we reduce our reliance on a sole source for our addiction to consumerism and materialism. It is past time we seriously look at cyber security and take defensive measures to thwart crippling attacks. This does mean I support any prepositioning of troops or equipment. Nor should we provide corporate protections to the industrial defense complex.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Stop feeding it. Stop highlighting it. Countless civilians were killed by US drones and during combat operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan. We are part of the problem. It is time to realize this. Some issues do not have US based solutions.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Agree

Border security reduces potential threats to all Americans. Fences make good neighbors; they also protect the beach house of the president and his family.

State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.

Neutral

First, no federal funding should go to private individuals; if necessary, monies should go to the state to distribute as needed. Local accountability, local control. If you follow this slippery slope argument to its fruition, the federal government will begin withholding monies from cities, counties, or states that the current political denomination disagrees with. To put this in perspective, that could look like no federal funds for Texas because they passed the Heartbeat Bill.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

"Bring me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free..." Nearly everyone without a serious criminal record such as murder, rape, torture, etc. It should be done in an organized, timely and safe manner similar to European immigrants through Ellis Island. Legal Immigrants must use the front door to prevent nefarious Americans from taking advantage of them. As legal immigrants they must understand the freedoms and liberties that extend to every man woman and child along with the constitutional legal protections afforded to them.

VALUES

Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Neutral

The Federal Government and all Americans must be vigilant to protect each other's freedoms and liberties as long as the protection does not infringe upon another's rights and protection. A good example is the baker in CO who is routinely harassed by using the justice system as a weapon. It is none of the Government's business who you go home to, who you go to sleep with or who you love, period. Assault, bullying, stalking, intimidation, harassing are already illegal.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Disagree

We can not expect legislation to improve morality. Parents can improve morality. Local communities, such as the church and youth organizations (think Big Brothers/ Big Sisters), can improve morality. The government cannot legislate morality. Morality is an attitude of the heart.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

First and foremost, we are called to love everyone. Not just the ones we like or the ones we agree with but EVERYONE- no exceptions, even for our enemies. We were not called to judge but to love. We are to be examples of this love in every setting including when we disagree with those around us. We are to be helpers to the poor, the widows, and to the orphans. Secondly we are to be actively serving our community, our neighbors, all those around us. Be a comfort to the widows, the orphans. Feed and care for the poor. "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others." Phil 2:3-4 While my family and I follow Christ it is imperative to remember not everyone does. As such we ought not hold these individuals to the same moral code we apply to ourselves. In working with others we should always be fair, demonstrating empathy and love as an example of the love Christ provided to us.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Neutral

People should be able to vote in accordance with the laws of their State. If you are asking should there be voter id laws, yes. Yes there should be a verification of the voter for election integrity using whatever method the State legislature and Governor approved. The Brookings Institute (left of center) has expressed acceptance of voter ids.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

It is imperative that every American vote. The process should not be cumbersome. Unfortunately there are poor actors in this country (https://www.shorenewsnetwork.com/2020/06/28/election-fraud-in-new-jersey-heres-a-list-of-those-who-got-caught/); to ignore this is simply naive. The good news is in everyday life we use forms of identification to prove we are who we say we are. Voter registration and voter identification promotes election integrity. I am not a fan of centralized solutions, however, requiring a secondary secured and fenced counting machine allows for a voter verification process that is not reliant upon one machine. Using block chain similar to cryptocurrencies also may prove to be useful in ensuring we have election integrity.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Disagree

If States want this they can use their own tax resources to do it, but it should not use Federal funding in any way, shape, or form. The Federal Government should not be picking winners and losers period especial not based on race. That would be a racial motivated decision illegal in many states and in federal regulations.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. Fortunately or unfortunately under the United States Constitution you are free to be stupid. In fact, in many cases you can voice your stupidity. You are however not protected from the consequences of your stupidity. Making regulations outlawing racism much like outlawing hate is not a cure for this form of stupidity. These issues were here from the beginning and will be here at the end. This is however, where the local level leadership and community truly shines with hope and love by serving and loving one another which sets the example for future generations.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Agree

Yes if the local and State governing bodies agree to it. Everything is a balance.

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

I find local control with local accountability produces the best long lasting affects. Ultimately there is a trade off for every action. We should always strive to leave this place better than we found it for future generations. I would prefer environmentalists and others to come alongside industry to minimize impact while developing a natural resource sustainably and safely. In Alaska where we have premier education facilities we ought to be able to conduct natural resource development in a sustainable way. After all Nobody loves Alaska more than Alaskans. Period

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Choose not to answer

This question drives a binary spectrum which does not reflect personal Freedom and Liberty but assigns a label for generalities. Politicians have traded governance for activism pulling further away from Freedom and Liberty.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

The microphone man prefers not to interview me. Perhaps I do not fit into their predefined categories.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

no

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

Continued reliance on Republicans and Democrats has provided us with $30T in debt, 20 years of war, the Patriot Act and a plethora of poor and misguided political decisions. Passing the Balanced Budget Amendment even if it requires a States Convention is a must. It will require politicians to prioritize spending instead of hobbling future generations who have not yet been born. I will introduce the Balanced Budget Amendment within days on my arrival in DC. Poor nonreflexive fishery management has reduced upriver salmon returns changing a way of life far from the ocean where the Northern Pacific Fishery Management Council (NPFMC) governs. We must address this issue to preserve an Alaskan way of life and our environment. 1) Remove Washington and Oregon from the NPFMC. They have their own council (PFMC). Those seats then should be chaired by upriver communities such as Eagle, Fort Yukon, Galena, Nulato, Bethel, and Aniak. 2) Phase out bottom trawling completely. 3) Reduce foreign fleets operating in our waters. 4) Balance commercial industry with statewide concerns placing a higher priority on preserving this amazing renewable resource for future commercial fishermen, subsistence harvesters, sportfishermen, and all Alaskans in general -including the bears. Within the Bureau of Land Management resides a project called the Alaska Land Transfer Program. It retains nearly 36 million acres that belongs to Alaskans. I would endeavor to expedite the transfer of this property and the reduction of regulatory interference by non Alaskans, providing real opportunities to future generations. Currently the Alaska Legislature provides copious amounts of money to the Alaska University System which produces extremely competent professionals in a myriad of skill sets ranging from environmentalists, biologists, petroleum engineers, mining engineers, teachers, nurses, and business professionals. However due to limited opportunities, these professionals leave for other states. Effectively, this becomes a fiscal and professional brain drain.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Agree

Police officers should be immune for conduct conducted per their training. Police Leadership, however, should be held accountable for poor training. It is their job to ensure each officer is trained appropriately.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Neutral

This is a local decision accountable to the local community. We are an extremely diverse nation with equally diverse issues. Shifts in policing strategy and policy may work in Baltimore, Maryland but fail in Kaltag, AK and only be moderately successful in Anchorage, Alaska. The local community must be involved in decisions like this because, fail or succeed, they will be the first to feel the affects.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I would support a moratorium on firearms ownership for domestic abusers and felons with an expiration date determined by the court system.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

No.
