QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

The deliberate intentional killing of an innocent child should never be allowed. I have dedicated most of my life to ending the abortion genocide. Once elected to the Alaska House of Representatives I sponsored HB206 the Alaska Life at Conception Act/Preborn Child Equality Act of 2021. This would guarantee equal protection under the law for all human beings beginning at conception. Article 1 Section 1 one of the Alaska Constitution opens with "This constitution is dedicated to the principles that all persons have a natural right to life,..." This will be my number one priority as Governor.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I sponsored budget amendments banning abortion funding in both years I've served in the legislature. Ending the abortion payments to Planned Parenthood is part of my day one agenda regardless of tyrannical court opinions in Alaska. The Alaska legislature has consistently indicated it does not want to fund abortions. As Governor I will enforce this and tell the courts to pound sand.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

I was instrumental in killing "assisted suicide" legislation while serving at Alaska Right to Life

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Alaska has been ranked the worst state in the country to do business in. This is why we will be launching the "Worst to First Initiative" which will include among other things: -Simplifying the oil production tax code -Heavily incentivizing in the oil tax code the building and operation of refineries in Alaska -Eliminating corporate income taxes (Alaska has one of the highest) -Abolishing property taxes

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

By leaps and bounds the state of Alaska spends more per capita than any other state. Waste, fraud and abuse are everywhere, we will also be looking at significant welfare reform. See also # 3,

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

The University of Alaska was granted an immense amount of natural resources to provide for itself. The state needs to stop enabling them to lock up their resources.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

NONE, EVER!! Yet this is exactly what Governor Dunleavy did. Art. 1 Sec. 4 of Alaska's constitution strictly prohibits any government interference with churches. There is a provision for martial law in Art. 3 but there is no indication that it supersedes religious liberty. Furthermore, "rebellion or actual or immanent invasion" are required predicates to declare martial law.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

D. Not practical to achieve in one fell swoop, also it would be unjust to take Medicare benefits away from folks who paid into it all their life. However, like anything else, the more government has intervened in healthcare the worse it has gotten. We need more freedom, not less.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

None. What happened to "my body my choice" oh wait, that's only for killing kids.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Drill baby drill!! Our energy policies are empowering rogue states and financing Islamic terrorism. This is also empowering Russian aggression.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

Israel has a right to defend itself

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Build the wall

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

People who are legitimately fleeing persecution, anyone who embraces our founding American values. Must be done legally.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

I've been working on a plane for education choice tax credits. As a home schooled graduate and home schooling father this is important to me.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Strongly Agree

Well stated

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I'm a born again evangelical Christian. I seek God's purpose and design for civil government

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Except for very limited absentee voting (like overseas military).

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

I've introduced three election integrity bills in the legislature including one requiring photo identification. The Kurka/Hueper is the only one running for Governor/Lt Governor that has a plan to secure Alaska's election again and stop the fraud Our election reform plan include the following: -Ban Dominion Voting Machines -Go back to hand counting -Audit Alaska's Elections -Repeal Ranked Choice Voting -Fire Gail Fenumiai (current Division of Elections Director) -Clean Voter Rolls -Require Voter Photo ID

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

The lefts Marxist tactic of inciting racial conflict to divide Americans is a threat to national security

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

As stated in the Declaration of Independence "...That to secure these rights governments are instituted among men"

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

Always fun to see how the left wing news paper describes you: https://www.adn.com/politics/2021/11/29/conservative-wasilla-legislator-christopher-kurka-will-run-for-alaska-governor-in-2022/ A more conservative source: https://alaskawatchman.com/2021/11/29/joe-miller-backs-rep-christopher-kurkas-bid-to-unseat-gov-dunleavy/

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

My top priorities: End abortion Secure Healthcare freedom Secure Election Integrity Rain in overspending and return the full statutory PFD to Alaskans

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Disagree

This question needs more defining. Certainly department policy is generally the lens through which we should measure if an officers actions are appropriate but there are other factors as well like the constitution. Also that's not what qualified immunity means.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None. All restriction are unconstitutional, also more restrictions means less safety.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree
