QUESTIONNAIRE*
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
I believe every human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection. I believe it is my duty to always defend those who cannot defend themselves.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I believe federal, state or local funds should only be directed towards programs that support pregnant women, adoption and family support services.
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
As a Christian, and a father, I believe every child, born or unborn, has a God-given right to life. The Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act is a moral imperative. I stand for every baby's right to receive the same care and protection once they are born, no matter the circumstances.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I don't believe it should be allowed under any circumstance. There are extremely rare circumstances when the mother may be in grave danger in the case of severe medical anomalies. In this case I would defer to the mother and leave it between her and God.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Neutral
I remain neutral because I believe government funds should be kept separate from any specific definition of marriage. This is not the role of government.
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I strongly agree because I believe religious liberty is a fundamental American right. Everyone must be able to worship freely without fear of government infringement or discrimination.
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
Yes, I do, because I believe that freedom of Christians to share the gospel and live by biblical principles is essential to a free society. I also believe Christians are under attack more than ever in my lifetime.
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
To me, the idea of separation of church and state appears nowhere in the Constitution. It was first expressed by Thomas Jefferson in his 1802 letter to the Danbury Baptists. As a conservative, I believe the Constitution safeguards religious liberty, and we must ensure that all Americans can practice their faith without government interference.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
As a retired military officer, I strongly agree because I’ve seen firsthand that a strong military is the best deterrent to conflict. Peace is preserved when our defense is credible and ready, ensuring security for our nation.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Disagree
I do not believe it's the government's job to ensure healthcare for everyone. Instead, I believe in protecting basic freedoms, so individuals have the power to choose their care in a free market.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I would promote healthcare coverage by fostering competition in the market, expanding health savings accounts, and reducing unnecessary regulations.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
The government should never be in the business of picking winners and losers.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Free enterprise and private property empower individuals, drive innovation, and create lasting economic growth that benefits everyone.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree
I believe in supporting a strong K through 12 education whether it is public or private. We need this foundation for a free society. I believe college is an individual responsibility.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
The top two would be discretionary federal spending and some entitlement programs
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
I strongly agree because a nation without a secure border is not truly a nation. By building a wall and the necessary infrastructure, we restore rule of law, protect our sovereignty, and ensure we know who is entering and leaving the country.
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
I strongly agree because when cities refuse to enforce immigration laws, they undermine the rule of law and create a dangerous precedent. Taxpayer dollars should not support jurisdictions that willfully defy federal immigration laws, putting safety and national security at risk.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
I believe we should allow immigrants who are law-abiding, ready to contribute to our economy, and willing to assimilate into American society. Those who come with a positive track record, a commitment to hard work, and a desire to build a better future for themselves should be welcomed as part of our American fabric.
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
Yes, I believe teachers should be allowed to carry guns in schools, but only if they undergo rigorous, professional training, comprehensive background checks, and a thorough assessment of mental stability. Safety for both students and staff must be the top priority.
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
As an NRA board member, I firmly believe that gun ownership is a constitutionally protected right. Any restrictions must be carefully balanced to ensure public safety without infringing on that right. I support laws that focus on keeping firearms out of the hands of criminals and the mentally unstable, while respecting law-abiding citizens' rights.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Agree
From a constitutional republic perspective, I support the legalization of recreational marijuana because the federal government should not overreach into states’ rights. States are best positioned to regulate and manage this issue, as long as public safety measures are in place. This respects both individual liberty and the constitutional balance of power
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
First, I will prioritize fiscal responsibility by sponsoring balanced budget legislation. Second, I will strengthen our national defense and support for veterans. And third, I will make public safety a top priority, ensuring a strong conservative approach to law enforcement and keeping our communities safe.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
I strongly disagree because laws must be grounded in the Constitution, and under no circumstances should Sharia law be allowed in the United States. Our nation’s laws must remain anchored in the people’s elected representatives and the clear framework of the Constitution.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
I am a staunch conservative across the board, in economics, social issues, foreign policy, and immigration. However, after traveling extensively, I’ve gained a deeper compassion for those in difficult circumstances, which helps me balance my principles with a sense of compassion and understanding.
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
After my first term in office, the John Birch Society ranked me as the most constitutionally conservative member of the Indiana State House. Furthermore, my four-year voting record consistently upheld limited government, traditional values, and a strong constitutional framework, defining my approach as a conservative leader.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I hold a traditional college degree, but my qualifications come from a life dedicated to service. As a retired lieutenant colonel and commander, I led individuals, made critical decisions on a large scale, and drew on my extensive travel experience around the world. I’m also a family man and a business owner, and these experiences have given me a well-rounded perspective on leadership, practical problem-solving, and the values needed to serve in the U.S. House.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
Beyond my experience and qualifications, I want voters to know that I feel deeply blessed to have been born where I was and raised as I was. I am committed to giving back to the community that shaped me, and I will fight every day for the people of this district and the future of my grandchildren.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I strongly agree because Judeo-Christian values formed the moral foundation of America. Our Constitution was crafted with these principles in mind, ensuring a system of limited government that respects individual rights, accountability, and justice.
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
The law must remain grounded in biological facts and traditional values. I believe everyone should be treated with respect, but expanding these categories as legal protections destabilizes the equal application of the law and threatens the foundations of our constitutional order.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian, and my faith in God is the cornerstone of my life. I believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ, the importance of loving my neighbor, and living with integrity, humility, and faith in God's plan for me.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I strongly disagree because voter integrity is essential to a functioning democracy. Requiring photo ID ensures that every vote is legitimate, protects against fraud, and preserves public confidence in our electoral process.
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
The Electoral College should not be abolished because it ensures a balance between large and small states, protecting the voice of less populous regions. It prevents a few urban centers from dominating the entire country and keeps our union truly federal.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I absolutely condemn racism as a deep moral wrong and a threat to our national unity. However, from a security standpoint, I believe the greatest threats come from organized domestic terrorism, foreign adversaries, and large-scale criminal networks, which require targeted action and strategic vigilance to keep our nation safe.
