RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Passed 6 weeks, only in the case of the mother's life being in danger should abortion be allowed.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Neutral
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
The tax code should be simplified. We need to close loopholes and make it easier for small businesses to compete, while also making sure the ultrawealthy pay their fair share.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Michigan thankfully has a balanced budget. Helping get people out of the welfare net and reforming healthcare can be opportunities to lower the budget, and thus lower taxes.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree
College is not for everyone, so not everyone should have to pay.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Protecting religious freedoms needs to take priority.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Only in cases of present danger or high crimes. Our churches need to remain open.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
B. Ideally, our healthcare system would be closer to the system of Singapore or what state employees in Indiana have. Those under that system have private healthcare, with an "account" created by the government that the government puts a certain amount yearly, say $1,000. This helps guarantee our poorest citizens have access to the care they need, while also keeping taxes low. Because unused money in the account rolls over into the next year, it encourages citizens to only use their funds when necessary. Studies show that a system like this preserves scarcity while also allowing citizens to access preventative care, such as biyearly check-ups.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Employers should only be able to require vaccinations if there is due cause for it, such as an occupation that requires you deal with rust needing a tetanus shot. Schools should act similarly. COVID vaccination should not be required.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
The United States needs to stop destabilizing foreign nations. America needs to far stronger vetting process for third world countries. We at home need to promote our values long held.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Neutral
The United States Gov't and state gov'ts cannot and should not punish those who chose to boycott, whatever they are boycotting.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
We need to greatly reduce immigration to the U.S., only taking those who would be seen as a net tax benefit to the country.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Agree
Parents need options when it comes to their children's' education. Our students deserve the best learning environment possible, which often is in places such as charter and private schools.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
Christian values have been at the heart of our nation since the Founders, and we need to promote them again before it's too late.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimation laws.
Strongly Disagree
Men should not be in bathrooms designed for little girls.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Agree
The government should not have the power to define marriage.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
CRT is fundamentally anti-white and must not be allowed to spread further into our country. It's not a secret that CRT preaches against everything that went into the founding of our nation.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a conservative Christian. I attend Kent City Baptist church, where I volunteer to teach in the youth group. My values and my faith is strongly linked. Our government and nation should reflect the faiths of those who have come before us.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
We need and deserve stronger election fortification. We should require a government identification to vote and encourage more people to become involved in running our elections.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism is not a threat to domestic security in the United States. Overwhelmingly most interracial crime in America is black on white.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A. We need to strengthen environmental protections but we should put the lives of our citizens first.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Agree
Fracking is quite safe compared to a lot of the fuel sources we use.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The general purpose of government is to promote general welfare and promote the common good. Government should preserve and protect the interests of the citizens and cultivate the common culture.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
I vote conservatively in nearly all elections and frequently post on my personal Facebook page. Interviews forthcoming.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I am not a politician. I am just a research manager, a father, and a Christian. This is my first time running for office. What I can promise you is a regular, everyday person making decisions with everyone's best interests in mind, not special interests.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Disagree
Officers must act morally.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Disagree
I support mental health and community programs, but if anything, our police departments need more funding to deter the increase in crime we are seeing.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The extremely mentally ill and dangerous felons should not have access to firearms.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Disagree
