QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

None.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

It is important to note that the "separation of church and state" does not appear in any of our nation's founding documents. In fact, it is profoundly obvious of the influence of God and church on our founding fathers and in the early days of our nation. When Thomas Jefferson first penned the words outlining the separation of church and state in his letter to the Danbury Baptists, his premise was that the state should have no authority over the operation, doctrine, or attendance of the church. In contrast to the Church of England, there should be no state-run church. The membership of American churches, however, should be encouraged to be involved politically to support and promote morals, standards, and values held dear by religious teachings and traditions. US Attorney general William Barr said, “Separation of church and state does not mean, and never did mean, separation of religion and civics,” he said. “As late as 1952, Justice William O. Douglas could write for a majority of the Supreme Court that ‘We are a religious people whose institutions presuppose a Supreme Being’.”

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

A. The United States is a beacon of Freedom for the world. We don't need do go around picking fights, but when the God-given freedoms of people are threatened, they need hope. America is that hope.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

1. Energy independence from Middle Eastern oil would cripple the funding of many terrorist organizations. America should strive to achieve energy independence. 2. Aggressive approaches to state-sponsored terrorism with military consequences deters the threat. 3. Religious freedom is the first and most powerful freedom in the world. You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Supporting religious freedom on a world-wide scale naturally reduces terrorism.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Under no circumstances should personal medical decisions (like a vaccination) be required.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

Ideally, D. But we don't live in a perfect world where the taxes would be given back to the citizens if Medicare/Medicaid would be abolished. Considering the precedents in our country, I would stand by an option similar to C. With no private options to create competition, healthcare prices would soar to more outrageous levels than they already are.

ECONOMY

Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.

Strongly Disagree

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Policies that reduce the tax burden on families and businesses allow all to have more money in their pocket. A strong family is the foundation of a strong economy. Fiscal responsibility and proper stewardship in a national tax policy will enhance the well-being of the American family.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

As the plaque affixed to the base of the Statue of Liberty states the poem The New Colossus: “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” The blessings of liberty should be available to anyone who wished to obtain legal citizenship. America is a country of law and order. Immigration enforcement should respect the rule of the country’s immigration laws. This often requires challenging decisions that affect real people in a personal way. However, failure to enforce the law will lead to the breakdown of what actually makes America attractive to legal immigrants. We need a secure border, but we also need a clear and attainable path to citizenship for those who seek to legally enter our country. A common-sense approach to embracing new citizens who seek to transition to our country is imperative to welcome immigrants and asylum seekers in a way in which we can all prosper.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Agree

I support qualified immunity as long as the officers are following department policy. When they step outside the protections of policy, they forfeit their immunity protections.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The same ones listed in the Constitution. A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

Guns don't kill people. People kill people.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I am a battle-proven leader, a trailblazer, and I have a burning desire to make a difference. My experience of over twenty years of military service and non-profit work throughout Northwest Indiana has prepared me to fight on behalf of the Region in Washington, D.C. This is not a joke to me. I am not running because my friends convinced me to or because the establishment asked me to. I am running because I believe in America and I believe in the influence Northwest Indiana can have for conservative values and traditional freedoms in this country. I believe strong American families create a strong American economy and those are both worth defending.

VALUES

Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian first. My Christian faith provides the guideposts by which I make all of life's decisions, both personally and politically. I am a Republican because my Christian faith most closely aligns with the platform of the Republican Party.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Requiring government-issued Photo ID or proof of citizenship is a no-brainer. As we saw in the last election cycle, mail-in voting and absentee voting laws already on the books for states need to be enforced. I am not a proponent of national election laws. This process should be left to the states. States should be resourced to clean up their voter rolls and staff polling places.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

By pure nature, people are not racist. But, when they are convinced that someone is bad just because of the color of their skin, their religion, what language they speak, or what side of town they live on, that racial divide stoked by the media and race-mongers is a threat to domestic security. Racism is a threat when it is used to divide people. Everyone has an inherent desire for love and acceptance. If each of us would approach everyone with respect, consideration, and love, I think we would all amazed at how quickly racial problems could go away.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A
