ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

In Texas, we need to move away from property taxes and rely more on consumption tax. Texas Public Policy Foundation's Lower Taxes, Better Texas whitepaper is a guide that should be given strong consideration (https://www.texaspolicy.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/2021-07-RR-Ginn-Quintero-Antoni-RTT-Eliminating-Property-Taxes1.pdf)

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

The Texas Legislature’s practice of fiscal restraint while meeting the needs of the state has been good news for Texans. We need to continue this trajectory with one exception: Border Security. The reality is the Federal Government is not going to help Texas secure our border and we must never be in a position where we must beg a hostile President to build the wall. Texas must secure our border and it will be costly.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

We should definitely not be requiring COVID vaccinations and we must protect Texans who chose to not get COVID vaccine at this time from businesses that want to mandate it. Further, I am open to reconsidering repealing previous vaccination requirements in the next legislative session of elected.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Like Reagan, our policy to eradicate the evil empire that is Islamic terrorism should be simple: "We win, they lose."

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

People that are truly being persecuted and can not find asylum elsewhere and people who want to assimilate to the Great American Experiment and help make America great.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

All men are created by God and have infinite worth. We live in a fallen world with great pain and suffering because of our own desire to reject God's laws. I personally have accepted the gift that Jesus gave on the cross to redeem me and be born again in Christ. I encourage others to do the same, however, it is their choice. As much as possible, I strive to live at peace with everyone (Romans 12:18)

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

We must restore felony penalties for election fraud and also add forensic audit as a normal practice for elections.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Without question, there are powerful forces that are pitting races against each other. Critical Race Theory (CRT) is a poison that started in our universities and has worked its way down into every level of education and significant areas of business as well. To say "All Lives Matter" should not be controversial.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Very Conservative

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

Every other year, thousands of grassroot republican leaders meet during the State Convention to consider what the Legislative Priorities of the Republican Party of Texas should be. When we meet again this summer, there will probably be some changes to the priorities from 2020. Below is my assessment of what the 87th Legislature accomplished and the priorities that I think will remain for the 88th. If elected as Representative for House District 52, Our Republican Legislative Priorities will be my legislative priorities. I will only support a House Speaker who pledges to deliver legislation addressing these priorities to the governor. Emergency powers This priority was added by Chairman Allen West in response to the government ordered mandates and shutdowns. Statewide emergency orders that extend beyond 30-days must have legislative input from the people’s representatives. Election Integrity While there was much sound and fury on this issue and the democrats even fled to DC (without consequences I might add), the fact is we reduced the criminal charges from a felony to misdemeanor and failed to require regular forensic audits. It needs to be easy to vote and hard to cheat in Texas. Religious Freedom A constitutional amendment was passed. I will always support and defend religious freedom. A Republican leader should have never allowed our places of worship to be shut down. Children and Gender Modification Speaker Phelan allowed legislation that would have prevented this barbaric practice to die in committee. That is unacceptable. Abolition of Abortion The Heartbeat Bill is saving hundreds of babies a day. I am thankful for everyone that supported this bill and will continue to work towards the goal of abolishing abortion in Texas. Constitutional Carry Constitutional Carry passed in the 87th legislative session. I will always support the 2nd Amendment and defend your God-given right to keep and bear arms. Monument Protection As a direct descendant of Davy Crockett, we should always honor the sacrifices made by men and women of all races, creeds, and nationality who have fought for Freedom, Security, and Prosperity. School Choice for All Is anybody satisfied with the current state of our education system especially here in Round Rock and Leander? We need significant reform that places the parents at the center of their child’s education. Ban Taxpayer-Funded Lobbying Every elected official in House District 52 will have an open door to my office. They will not need to spend taxpayer dollars to make sure the needs of our community have a place at the table in the State House. Should public entities choose to hire a lobbyist, all correspondence should be subject to open records and all lobbyists hired by public entities must disclose all their clients and the issues they lobbied for or against.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Disagree

Unfortunately, we are seeing Law Enforcement Officers put in untenable positions enforcing illegal policy (i.e. enforcing mask mandates or removing parents for public comments at school board meetings). These officers need to know that we will support them when they resist illegal orders and will hold policymakers responsible for enacting illegal/unconstitutional policies.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Disagree

Law Enforcement is often at the front line of dealing with acute mental health problems. We should not redirect funds from law enforcement, but it is time to have an honest conversation about how we deal with people that are mentally unhealthy.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The Right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
