QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Life begins when the cells first begin to divide. In what other context do people so willingly discard life? I acknowledge in situations such as rape the decision to keep a child must be difficult, but even then adoption is an option. Other than that, since the dawn of Man, we all know of the consequences of unprotected sex. It should come as no surprise to what can happen when two adults have sex. If a couple does not want or feels they are not ready for a child, there are preventative options.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

I am a fighter and I always feel there is a chance. Furthermore, as a Christian, I can't support suicide on any level. There are numerous examples of people being at their lowest point and the medical community giving one no chance of surviving. However, God has the final say. Assisted suicide would deny someone the chance for recovery and deny God the ability to show His awesome power to restore.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I am not aware of any circumstance in which abortion should be an option. My kids are the greatest things in my life. I can't understand how someone can so willingly take life away. Adoption is always an option. Our society has killed millions of unborn babies. We could have easily killed the doctor who finds the cure for cancer, HIV, or a multitude of disease. We could have also killed famed artists, a president, a great scientist. Sadly, we'll never know.

ECONOMY

Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.

Strongly Disagree

The communist party known as the democratic party would love to kill the American dream. Everyone in this country has an opportunity to be wildly successful through hard work, persistence, and dedication. Threatening to take one's income away, as in Cuba and other communist countries, and redistribute those funds to others who did not work toward attaining wealth cheapens the sacrifice and hard work of those who did sacrifice and work hard to achieve personal wealth.

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

The federal government has an enormous amount of money and yet it wastes funds through such acts as grossly overpaying government contracts or, in the case of democratic leadership, gives billions to terrorist countries who hate the US. I was the departmental RPPO for my ship in the Navy and witnessed the asinine amount of money the government pays for things. For instance, a $40 circuit card should not cost over $100,000 and yet this is common. We need to control the debt.

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

President Trump's tax codes were aimed at relieving many of the financial problems of the overburdened and overtaxed middle class. Our government doesn't spend our tax dollars responsibly. I would rather keep that money myself as would everyone else. Taxes should be lowered across the board. I also agreed with President Trump's approach to corporate tax as I've been saying this for years. If in order to keep jobs in the US we have to offer a much better corporate tax rate or even a zero tax rate, the US greatly benefits because domestic companies would no longer employ foreign citizens but would employ US citizens. As a result, those people now have a job and are taken off social programs like welfare, from the work generated here, those people pay taxes and now those taxes help reduce the national debt. This would create jobs here, take people off welfare, and taxes would be pumped into the system. Instead of people drawing money from the government they would be pumping money into our government. Everyone wins.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

It is protected by our first amendment and yet there are those who seek to destroy the constitution. Make no mistake, we have only been one or two votes away from losing many of our constitutional rights. This primary season is so critical to put forth the best candidate to defeat the radical democrats and, unfortunately, historically the numbers show most people will not exercise the right to protect religious freedom and other freedoms by not voting.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Businesses and individuals should retain the right to refuse service. If this offends someone, simply go elsewhere.

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

Our forefathers escaped many persecutions and witnessed what the state of affairs many times is when the church and state are one. These two should be separate but not so much so as to where it is illegal to pray in school. We never should have tried to take God out of the schools. If praying in school or at a school function offends someone, go elsewhere. For far too long the very vocal minority has dictated their will in US politics. As a result, such things as school prayer, which the majority of the country agrees with, has been taken away. We live in a free society and this never should have been an issue. As long as the state is not dictating to the masses in how to worship, there shouldn't have been a problem. If what one group does offends someone, that someone is free to go elsewhere. Making the vast majority succomb to the whims of a very small minority took prayer out of schools and school functions. What else will offend someone to where the rest of the US has to do and act as the very vocal minorty desires? I'm through with such nonsense and this is the main reason I am running for Congress.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

None. It is unconstitutional, the COVID-19 vaccines have been proven to be ineffective in preventing one catching the coronavirus, and the medical community disagrees on the best approach. Furthermore, I don't trust the government to build roads and construct bridges. I definitely don't want it to inject me with potentially life altering DNA. The side effects of what is happening to people's bodies is horrifying with COVID vaccines. There are some shots which have been proven to be safe and effective. For example, the polio vaccine and the numerous shots we take before going to school. I agree with those shots. I do not agree with the COVID vaccines.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

B Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

I served my country because I believe in freedom. The US should protect those who cannot protect themselves. At the same time, there are many issues here which go unresolved. We will continue to be that shining city on a hill President Reagan quoted Jesus spoke about if we fix our own problems and protect the innocent lives of all. A and C

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

This is yet another attempt to discredit the legitimacy of the Jewish state. This movement goes beyond the time since WW2 but goes back to the time of Ishmael and Isaac. I wish I had a better answer for this but the truth is these two groups have been fighting each other for thousands of years and is perhaps the oldest relative infighting this world has ever seen.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

This is not a secret. The Chinese have been trying to and have been stealing secrets from the US for generations. Moreover, the Chinese government owns a massive amount of property within the US through several companies. This should concern every citizen here and not just because it's China, but just the fact another country owns land in our country. I know of the naval capabilities we have and also know China wants those same capabilities.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Protect the borders, build the wall. We have terrorist cells that are operating in the US and they cross over the Mexican border. My job in the Navy was the defense of the ship and I was in charge of the large weapon systems onboard. To that extent, I am a defense expert. We are leaving ourselves defenseless with an unfinished wall and terrorists will continue to cross over into the US to plot attacks. Building the wall is what we can do for our country here. We will have a much more difficult time since Joe Biden purposely funded Al Qaeda by leaving over $80 billion of top secret and advanced weaponry and assets in Afghanistan. Now, not only do our enemies have these assets but they can recreate the top secret material and redistriubte it around the world or sale to the highest bidder this knowledge and exponentially grow its infrastructure. Biden needs to be impeached for this act along with several others.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Every nation has not only the right but the responsibility to secure its borders. We have more issues than illegal immigrants crossing over. An open border invites human trafficking and continues to be a major problem in the Houston area. We can greatly reduce the horrors of human trafficking by simply finishing the wall. Additionally, open borders invite terrorists to cross over and operate in our country.

State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

It is no surprise sanctuary cities continue to have a much higher crime rate. National security is a higher priority than the failed ideologies of these democratic ran cities. The democratic leadership has ruined many of our great cities and put the citizens of these cities in heightened danger as well as the security of the people of the US. Funding sanctuary cities is funding domestic terrorists and the we the people should not continue to fund cities whose leadership puts us all in danger.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

We are an immigrant nation. What makes this nation so great is we are a melting pot of the entire world. The US represents what is best in the world through its people. We also have a system to allow immigrants to become citizens. My wife was an immigrant from Mexico. When I did her paperwork to come here, we had almost no money to do so and yet we went about it the correct way. She went through a lengthy vetting process and now is a citizen who retains the full rights of this country and votes in our elections. We also have a lottery system in which many people each year gain citizenship. There are laws and programs to adhere to if one desires to become a citizen.

VALUES

Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

No, a man is born a man and a woman is born a woman. Despite how much one desires to be the other gender and even if that person undergoes the hormone treatments and process, that person is still physically the same. For instance, a man wishing to change into a woman still has one less rib and a much more dense muscle system. That doesn't change. Though I don't understand it, I feel to each his own. However, there are numerous public safety concerns with this fad.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

I am a proud American from the US. When I wake up, I am grateful for this fact. I do not lament on the injustices and struggles of my Native American ancestors and what they endured in this country nor do I meditate on prejudices my Irish ancestors faced early in this country. The truth is we all come from a very diverse background. If we decided to relive the horrors our ancestors faced and decided to dwell on a past, many generations removed from ourselves we would not be able to move forward.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Cancel Culture seeks to erase the struggles of our ancestors as well as the bonds all races in this country have worked very hard to maintain. I am a Christian. Although I have very strong views, I feel we have a higher calling as the body of Christ to not allow these values and beliefs to interfere with our mission to strengthen the body of Christ. There are many things in which I do not agree, but I am not here to so easily judge people for as Jesus stated in Matthew 7, "Judge not that ye be not judged..." I am here to love people and try my best to be a good example of the love of Jesus. Too many times we lose people because many Christians so easily and willingly judge. As Christians, we have a much higher calling to save people, and this is not accomplished by passing judgement. Only God has that right.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I have yet to have someone explain to me how it is racist to require an id to vote when that same id is needed for vaccines, to cash checks, to buy alcohol and cigarettes, etc. We've seen this time and time again-when all else fails, the democratic party blames something on race. In another attempt to legalize its election fraud, the democratic party cries racism to get its way. It is imperative we don't elect cowards to office to fight this and other nonsense.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

It's common sense the person for whom the ballot is intended should actually be that person casting the vote. An id card is a sure way to correctly identity this in indeed the person. Texas swipes the driver's license or id card and instantly informs the poll worker if this is the correct person. I think that is a practice every state should be required to perform, If we do not get a handle on the election fraud which occurs in local elections, state elections, and national elections, the voters will lose confidence. What is worse, if we do not get a handle on this process, those who did not actually win can represent the office for which the people chose someone else. Election integrity is the most serious threat we are currently facing. We are currently living the nightmares of the lack of election integrity and as a result are paying higher gas prices, higher food prices, inflation has hit the highest it has been in 40 years, there is not enough food on the shelves, etc. I can continue on this for a long time and not even scratch the surface. We must get a handle on election integrity.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The idea of slavery disgusts me. I don't understand what impulses gave or now gives a person to even think of treating a human as property and dehumanizing that person to the point of total submission and yet what race of man has not been enslaved? Also, people seem to forget the British empire chose to bring slaves to this land and also eradicated many Native American tribes. Reparations cannot replace the horrors which happened. This kind of talk brings us backward and not forward

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I would say one would be hard-pressed to find one who did not have more than one race within his blood. Mankind has been nomadic since the beginning and as people wandered, family ties spread. I feel if people were more educated about their ancestry heritage, many of the race problems we are facing would go away as people would realize we probably have common ancestors not too far removed from our present day. Racism will continue to be a problem as long as people allow those who drum up these deep feelings to control their thoughts and actions. Yes, racism can be a domestic threat to national security if people continue to see themselves in a segregated light rather than as a citizen of the US.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

This has been the process of getting oil for quite some time now. At some point, and I don't have the answer to when this will be, there will be no more oil. I support fracking and I also support more efficient methods of energy use, The technological advancements we continue to make for energy consumption and generation are moving us forward.

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

I do believe in protecting the environment but we must remember, Mother Earth could care less what creatures inhabit it and will make adjustments to protect itself A. Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

There are a lot of voters guides for this race and a lot of information if one googles cd7 Texas. Here is one such guide https://cchc-pac.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/03-2022-HC-US-CD-07-Lance-Stewart.pdf

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

We need to hold members of Congress responsible. I also feel we have a do nothing party in the Republican party. They have allowed elected officials like Marjorie Taylor-Greene to be taken off house committees simply because she is a supporter of President Trump and yet Maxine Waters continues to incite violence and encourage rioters to get more physical and violent and nothing is done to this woman? The double standard the Republican party has allowed itself to be victim to is appalling. We need to hold Maxine Waters and others like her accountable. We need to also hold accountable those members of Congress profiteering through insider trading as well as awarding family and friends multi million dollar contracts-Bernie Sanders, Nanci Pelosi, etc. We need to impeach Kamala Harris for helping to fund the release of the criminal rioters that terrorized California, we need to impeach Biden regarding his lack of response to the border, funding Al Qaeda, gross incompetence, etc. I would also like to pass a bill that treats driving while holding a phone as harshly as a DUI. More than 25% of all car wrecks are due to people driving with a phone in one hand, or both, either texting, talking, or doing who knows what else. Many lives can be spared if we take these offenders off the road as we do those who drive under the influence. I would propose the same punishments.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Disagree

We are all responsible for our actions. I strongly back the blue, but no one is above denying someone the constitutional rights we should all hold dear.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

The movement to defund the police is the most asinine issue we currently discuss. The violence in such cities as Portland that no longer has a police department is staggering. The very same people who so proudly support the movement to defund the police will be the very same people who want to call on the police when vigilantes who will have no due process and no mercy take over.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Gun restrictions only hurt responsible gun owners. Do we really think criminals will care what gun laws are passed? Unfortunately, criminals will find a way to get a gun even if it is illegal.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

The gun dealers and manufacturers are not responsible for the actions of others. This would be like saying we should be able to sue the car manufacturer if someone is hurt with a car.
