In an age when District Attorneys are not even enforcing murder, how do they get prosecuted. Will searches of mail be required to insure someone is not mailing in another envelope? Without the ability or willingness to enforce a law it is almost worse than no law.

Eliminate Corporate Welfare like Hollywood subsidies. Like many corporations have done, invoke a 10% reduction in agency spending. This takes an efficiency minded Governor who respects the hard earned tax dollars people pay. This should emanate from the Governor on down to all levels of the legislature. The discussion of slavery in regards to America is warped from the facts. The Constitution defined the outlaw of slavery in 20 years. This was long before England outlawed it. America did not quite meet that, but in 1808 outlawed the importation of slaves. A discussion of slavery, ignoring the role of Spain and Portugal bringing the most slaves from Africa to the Western Hemisphere is a biased discussion. No discussion is complete, without including that Africans brought them to the shore.

To enforce the laws as they are written. To insure that the rights of the victim are regarded. The Constitution grants the right to a speedy trial. This is not just meant for the criminal. The victim too has a right to a speedy trial to see justice administered for their grievances. Justice delayed is truly justice denied. To drag out a case, to make someone have to retell what could be an horrific ordeal for the loved one, over and over is truly an injustice.

Really this is the parent's duty. Yes the government might have tools and certain restrictions in place. Minors can not legally buy alcohol. But a parent may well allow their child to have it in the home. Was this not a question earlier "Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being." Fundamental rights have fundamental responsibilities.
