QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Never.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Strongly Agree

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Agree

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

I oppose a federal minimum wage. Wages should be determined by the free market, reflecting local economies and cost of living. States should set their own policies while government protects workers from wage theft and exploitation.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

My top priorities are to eliminate duplicative and unnecessary programs; conduct regular, independent audits; end wasteful subsidies and “nice-to-have” spending; require measurable results and accountability; and implement Open Government by Design, making spending transparent and easy for taxpayers to monitor. Tax dollars should fund what government MUST do - not what it merely wants to do.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Separation of church and state means government cannot establish or control a religion, nor can it prohibit the free exercise of faith. It does not mean faith must be excluded from public life or that people of faith must surrender their convictions when serving in government. Government should protect religious liberty for all while remaining neutral toward denominations and beliefs.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

None of the above - My position is: Government should ensure Texans who genuinely cannot afford essential healthcare have access to it, but I believe this should be a state responsibility - not a federal one. I don't believe that requires a traditional government insurance program. Texas should pursue efficient, accountable, market-based solutions that provide essential care while preserving private healthcare, individual choice and competition.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

I agree that the CCP presents serious threats to U.S. national security and economic interests, while recognizing that policy decisions should be based on verified intelligence and a careful assessment of both risks and consequences.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes, the relationship with Israel is important, but being an ally should not mean unconditional U.S. support. I believe U.S. foreign aid should be dramatically limited and guided by American interests. We should maintain strong relationships with our allies while holding every government - including Israel - accountable for its actions and ensuring American taxpayer dollars are not used to support conduct contrary to our values or interests.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Disagree

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Strongly Agree

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Disagree

I do not support expanding gambling in Texas. I believe adults should be responsible for their own choices, and reasonable, existing forms of gambling should be approached with personal responsibility and accountability. However, government should not promote or expand gambling as a source of revenue. I question whether the state should operate a lottery at all and would prioritize policies that strengthen families and communities rather than encourage gambling.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My faith in God and the teachings of Jesus Christ are the foundation of my life, my values, and my understanding of service to others. I believe we are called to love our neighbors, care for those who are vulnerable, act with honesty and humility, and be good stewards of what God has entrusted to us. I believe in the inherent dignity and worth of every person, personal responsibility, forgiveness, and the freedom to live according to one’s conscience. My faith guides how I approach leadership: with courage, compassion, integrity, and a commitment to serve rather than to rule.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Strongly Disagree

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

I believe nuclear energy is the most reliable source for meeting growing electricity demand. Texas should pursue nuclear alongside other sources, prioritizing reliability, affordability, water stewardship and energy independence.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

The goal of the criminal justice system should be to protect the innocent, maintain public safety, uphold the rule of law, and administer equal justice. Those who commit crimes should be held accountable and victims should be treated with dignity. Rehabilitation should be pursued when appropriate and when it serves public safety, but accountability and the protection of law-abiding citizens must come first. Justice should be fair, consistent, transparent and free from political influence.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation online and hold predators and exploiters accountable. That responsibility should be balanced with the privacy and liberty of adults. Child-safety measures should be narrowly tailored to protect children without creating unnecessary identification, surveillance or government control of lawful adult activity.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

The United States Constitution and laws must remain the sole legal framework governing our nation. Individuals are free to practice their religion and follow religious principles voluntarily, but no religious law, including Sharia, should supersede, replace or be incorporated into American civil or criminal law. Religious liberty protects belief and voluntary practice; it does not create a separate legal system.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The Second Amendment says “shall not be infringed,” and I believe it should be treated accordingly. Law-abiding citizens should not face additional restrictions on their right to own firearms. Public safety is best protected by enforcing existing laws, holding criminals accountable, addressing violent offenders and keeping firearms out of the hands of those legally prohibited from possessing them, not by restricting the rights of responsible citizens.
