QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
To save the life of the mother.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Planned Parenthood should receive zero tax dollars.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
I believe in the sanctity of life.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Texas Tax law should provide some leniency to the person or small business that made an honest mistake by affording them an opportunity to make good on their debt without incurring penalties and interest. Most people try to do the right thing and government should be there to serve, not penalize. As a note, I'm speaking to the perpetual offender.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
An initial assessment of agency spending should be conducted to determine when in the Fiscal Year that agency is using their budget. From my limited experience, a sizeable chunk of budgets are spent within the last two months (Aug-Sep) of the FY. If this is the case, then that agency's budget should be reduced. Fiscal responsibility within government should be encouraged. As such, if a department has funds left over at the end of the year, they should not be penalized on next years budget.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
If you want to take advantage of taxpayer funded education join ROTC. Fully funded scholarships are already a reality and will provide you, the citizen, an opportunity to pay a little back to this country.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
I believe in the rights of people and businesses to operate according to their own moral code as long as the rights of others are not negatively impacted. If you don't like the policy of a specific business, then you, as the customer, has the right to take your business elsewhere. You do not have the right to force your morals upon others.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
There are no circumstances under which government would have the right to forcibly close a church. Part of our rights as American citizens is our right to peacefully assemble and worship.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
Medicaid and Medicare should remain available as many have come to rely on these programs. However, healthcare for the most part, is an individual responsibility and government should not provide this service; this is one reason people work. Healthy competition for insurance plans reduces overall costs and ensures people access to doctors and quality healthcare. Anything government is involved in typically ends up failing; at a minimum, government health services will be nowhere near today's quality. Think ObamaCare and the increased costs we have seen the past few years.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
No individual should be mandated to take the COVID vaccination.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Terrorists which have been identified as posing a direct threat against the United States and/or American citizens should be eradicated when the opportunity presents itself.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
We need to return to past policies which proved very effective.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Any person who wants to be a productive member of society should be allowed the opportunity to immigrate to the U.S. Upon arrival, they should receive a medical examination to ensure they are disease free, have their background checked to ensure they do not harbor terroristic tendencies nor are criminals in their home country and show their financial ability to financially support themselves for a minimum of one year while they search for a job. If any of the above are not met, they should be returned to their country of residence. It is not the responsibility of American citizens to financially support anyone who wants to become an American citizen. Becoming a citizen of this country is an honor and no one should be allowed to seek citizenship if they will become a burden on society. Citizenship is a privilege, not a right.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
Our legal system is based upon the Judeo-Christian values of our progenitors. I believe our turning away from these values and beliefs is what is currently leading to the immorality and societal degradation that we see around us now. The increase in crimes of all types is a direct result of Judges and other "leaders" who have chosen to turn a blind eye to crime and not punish perpetrators for their poor choices.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
I support treating all with respect and dignity. That being said, there are only two genders.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
I believe Critical Race Theory (CRT) is being used to teach racism to our children. I know racism exists, and it is wrong no matter how you look at it; but I do not believe this country was founded on racism nor do I believe racism is predominate in our society. We can look at our past president and numerous CEOs, doctors, etc to see that anyone, regardless of race or societal upbringing, can succeed with hard work and due diligence.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Baptist and believe in one God who created all mankind in His image. Human life should be respected and people should treat others the way they would like to be treated in return.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
We need photo identification at the DMV and any other government office; why would we not be expected to provide identification to vote? All votes need to be counted, but to ensure the integrity of the system, you must provide photo identification to be allowed to vote.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
When able, everyone should have to vote in person. I believe in stiffening penalties for voters found guilty of willful voter fraud as well as any person who assisted them in committing voter fraud.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
While racism does exist in the US and is not specific to any particular race, I do not believe it is as prevalent as the news media would have you believe. It should not be tolerated in any form regardless of race, but is mostly being pushed by an agenda driven media and self serving politicians.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. Some government oversight is necessary, but we currently have more than enough laws on the books to ensure the environment is protected.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
When done responsibly, fracking allows us to extract the maximum amount of oil possible. This country’s goal should be energy independence. During President Trump’s years in office we saw the effect this had on fuel prices at the pump and the increase in high paying jobs that were provided to hard working Americans.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
Governments' role should be limited to providing basic services for its citizens. This would include providing a police force to ensure public safety, services to collect garbage, and border patrol to protect the sovereign territory of the country as some examples.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
None availble, first time office seeker.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
Illegal immigration has become a huge problem over the past year of Democratic leadership. I would like to address this problem and in turn help stop the trafficking of women and children for sex slavery as well as stem the flow of illegal substances into Texas. Every Texas citizen has the right to an education and parents have a right, and a responsibility, to know what their child is learning. We must keep Critical Race Theory out of Texas schools. Property taxes have been increasing the past few years which puts a burden on Texas citizens. I believe a certain amount of taxation is required, but government has a responsibility and duty to ensure the funds they collect are used effectively and responsibly. Citizens have the right to choose whether or not they are vaccinated for COVID; this is not a decision that can be dictated by the Federal Government or any other entity.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
To see what happens when you defund the police, look no further than liberal states such as New York and Illinois. Police are necessary to ensure criminals are kept off the streets and when they are defunded, the poor neighborhoods are the ones that suffer the most.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
We currently have enough laws in place restricting gun ownership. What government needs to do is to enforce the laws it currently has on the books and prosecute those who are found to be in violation of those laws. The addition of new laws does nothing more than attack the law abiding citizens rights to keep and bear arms.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
No. Weapons are sold responsibly to law abiding citizens and dealers/manufacturers are regulated by Federal laws, which if violated, will result in loss of their licenses and stiff prison sentences. Dealers and manufacturers are not responsible for stolen guns that end up in the hands of criminals or failed government operations such as Operation Fast and Furious.
