QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Although it would be a rare exception, if a mother's life was in danger during the beginning of her pregnancy then I believe it should be left to the mother and father to decide with information only (not their opinion) from health providers. Complete documentation from the health providers on the circumstances, why abortion would be considered, and all available options should be required before an abortion. If towards the end of the pregnancy complications arose risking the health of the mother, labor would be induced or a C-section performed. The survival rate of premature babies is exceptional.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Never. Any circumstances which may occur as a challenge to the church members should be left for the church leaders to decide if a church needs to close. Government should never have the choice to close churches.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Homeland Security along with the United States Military should continuously monitor any threats and assess best practice approaches to keep American Citizens safe at all times. Intelligence agencies inside the U.S. Government needs to be scrutinized and problems remedied from within to ensure continued thwarts of attacks. The U.S. Military should be readily prepared at all times to use its force to prevent attacks. Members of Congress must pass a resolution to authorize military force to defeat ISIS.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available. Provisions need to be reassessed and up-dated to stop abuses of these two programs.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Never. Government, schools, nor employers should ever be able to require vaccinations or any other medications to be required for school or work. This is a personal choice and any forced vaccinations are an overreach.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Tax rates need to be fair and equitable to all, not designed to enhance the wealthy or to penalize the poor. While taxes are an important economic need to run the United States, excessive taxation should be avoided for all.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
The biggest spending cut I feel should be by reducing the size of our Federal Government. We have 435 voting members and 6 non-voting members in the House of Representatives with 100 Senators. Respectfully, I believe the Senators should stay at 100 however the House of Representatives should be reduced to no more than 250 members. Term limits should be set, as well as, a maximum age cap for all elected officials.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
Public Education should be from K-12. Attending college, university, or vocational schools are a choice the student makes and along with that comes the burden of finance. Many scholarships go unused each year to help off-set the costs of upper education. Student loans should not be forgiven fully or in-part. The costs of upper education is expensive but by bearing the burden of cost it provides incentive to students, teaches students to be accountable, and expect financial hardships in life.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Immigration laws need to be enforced and while I do not like the thought of a wall, it should be built to secure our border.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
The United States Government has always had laws on immigration and we need to follow the laws that have been set forth. These laws serve to protect the citizens in the United States but allow for immigration through set procedures. While it is a lengthy process, those who seriously have a desire to become American Citizens have been willing to go through the process and then be welcomed into the United States.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Agree
As with all policy and guidelines there are sometimes gaps that lead to misinterpretation but all officers should be afforded the innocent until proven guilty defense. Continuous training, policy updates, and guidelines helps to ensure any gaps are identified and corrected. It is also important to listen to police officers on policies that need to be updated or corrected since they are the feet on the ground.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
it is critical for police departments to have adequate funding at all times. Mental health and community programs are simply not trained to work in unsafe environments and the last thing I want to see is for someone in these programs to get hurt or killed. No to redirecting funds.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Gun ownership is and should always be a personal choice without Federal or State interference with the exception of federal criminals and those proven with mental disorders that are violent or a risks to their own health or that of other people.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
Firearm dealers and manufacturers no more cause violence than a manufacturer of automobiles, hammers, or screwdrivers. Let's have laws that make sense.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
As in the U.S. Constitution, the purpose of government is to form a more perfect union by establishing justice, ensuring domestic tranquility, providing for the common defense, promoting the general welfare, and securing the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity. I follow these visions and missions and believe all elected officials take an oath to do the same. While government is the authority of regulating, legislating, and issuing executive and court orders, it is my belief the United States Government needs to be downsized and less overreaching into private lives, businesses, and religion.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Overall, I consider myself as very conservative in my beliefs and views. With that being said, it is my belief everyone has the right to have fair representation in legislature by being heard, valued, and respected for their ideas and opinions.
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
Currently I have had one radio interview on FM 98.7 with Jim Baxa and Ally Phillips on Walk by Faith Radio. On January 6, 2022 I have a radio interview scheduled on 95.9 with Wade Wilkes, an interview with The Home Builders Association on Tuesday January 11, 2022, and a Candidate forum January 13, 2022 at Cook's Garage sponsored by Prosperity West Texas, True Texas Project, Healthcare Freedom of Lubbock, and West Texas For Life. The Texas Realtors and Lubbock Association of Realtors will be in contact to schedule a time and date for an interview.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
Never
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
My goals are to continue to promote the beautiful state of Texas as a state where citizens are free to work and play, practice their choice of religion without government oversight, keep Lubbock Pro-Life with a push for all of Texas, and to give every Texan the opportunity to succeed and flourish in work, school, family, and church. My priorities include Students Education, Elderly needs, Military Veterans and Military Spouses, working to fight for our first responders in safety, getting the targets off of their backs, new hire retention, better pay and benefits, and providing for their needs when called into action. I also am ready to work on legislation to ensure all elected Texas officials attend government sessions in person, except for personal emergencies, or receive criminal penalties and fines. Each elected official knows (or should know) before going into office what the requirements are that is expected of them and owe the voters and citizens of Texas respect, hard work, and their dedication to doing Politics Right!
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
I do not believe or have a desire to tell God he is wrong or made a mistake.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I made a profession of my faith to God as a young girl and have dedicated my life to living the life I believe God has chosen for me to live through fellowship, baptism, and the need for salvation through my belief in Jesus Christ as the son of God. I hold the scriptures, both the old and new testaments as the final authority. Christ will sit in judgement of those saved and lost upon the Great White Throne (Revelation 20:11) and in the Judgement Seat of Christ (Corinthians 5:10) of believers for the failures and accomplishments while alive.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Any U.S. citizen of voting age is able to obtain a driver's license or identification card. Congress passed HR 1268 (P.L. 109-13) as an emergency appropriations bill in 2005. All registered voter's should have a photo ID.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
To strengthen our voting practices requiring all voter's be registered by an applicable date and show proof with a photo ID both to register and to vote. Mail in ballots should only be used for Military/Spouses, those who work outside of their state or country, and people who are temporarily out of their voting state during the voting period. Temporary voting booths should be provided at hospitals and nursing facilities. All states should be required to purge voters who have moved out of state or have become deceased.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
At the present time, yes racism is a domestic security threat in the United States. Our President vowed to unite "we the people" but instead he and our legislative officials have worked to dismantle any gains we have made in accepting, understanding, and embodying diversity. To value and have insight into different cultures is a salient feature that brings people together in pronounced ways of life and bonding.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
As a Native Indian, I do not believe reparations should be given to anyone for accessorial history. Sadly, my great-grandmother left her tribe to marry, leaving behind her entire history. While my birth certificate indicates I am Caucasian, it is a sad reality that part of my true history has been lost. While the United States history has been an atrocity, it is up to us as a nation to work toward unity and provide support as individuals to each other without regard to race.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost many jobs and hurts the economy. While there are ways to reduce bad environmental effects, the implementation of trying to do too much at once hurts the economy severely.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Neutral
I am currently researching the differences of hydraulic fracturing in vertical wells that was used for over 50 years to horizontal fracking that was pioneered in the late 1980's and is continuing to evolve.
