OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

It should be allowed in cases of rape, incest, or if at risk of killing the mother, but leaving it her decision either way. There is no "right" or easy answer to abortion. If you're pro-life, you're a monster. If you're pro-choice, you're a monster. If you're like me and want exceptions, balance, then you're a monster to both sides. You can't make rational legislation with such an emotional issue that has been twisted like it has by politicians for decades as a catalyst for keeping people divided. The best option to keep balance and relative peace nationally on this issue is to revert the decision back to the individual states. If you want to rule in absolutes nationally, you're no better than a totalitarian government that we claim to hate. Let the states make their own decision between their borders and make peace with the fact that neither side will truly get their way. It's just not in the cards.

ECONOMY

Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.

Strongly Disagree

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

We have got to pass a balanced budget amendment to get deficit spending under control, then make a concerted effort to start paying down the national debt. There are a lot of redundancies in government departments/organizations and wasteful spending by others. We should consolidate departments such as the ATF and DEA or the FBI and US Marshalls or outright eliminate them altogether, such as the IRS, by passing a consumption tax.

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

I would do away with the income tax and move over to a consumption tax.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

We've already seen it in the pandemic lock downs, with pastors being arrested for trying to open the doors for his congregation to have service. There is no place and time to suspend our fundamental freedoms. Doing so rips the soul out what America is.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

The gay couples going in the Christian cake shops could have just gone to another shop, but decided to impose their demands on those shop owners. The use of your rights shouldn't impinge on the freedoms of others. If you options to go elsewhere, as these couple did, they're just being petty. Also, Christian institutions shouldn't be required to carry out abortions, nor should pastors be required to marry gay couples. There are alternatives that don't infringe another persons freedoms.

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

Government needs to stay neutral. It's great that people have their own beliefs, but there has to be balance. If we let overzealous convictions rule our decisions in legislation, then we can't be fair to all, nor can we say that we have made rational decisions for the welfare of Americans. Normally, the best policy is what makes both sides of a coin unhappy.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Many of the school aged vaccines have been around for decades and are well documented for potential side effects and are easily found and researched. In 2007, then-Texas Governor Rick Perry mandated the HPV vaccine for young girls, which had only been approved by the FDA in 2006. The vaccine was also known to cause cervical cancer, which caused a panic over it's abrupt enforcement. It was found that Rick Perry also received campaign donations from the vaccine manufacturer, Merck, and that his former chief of staff, Mike Toomey, was then a lobbyist for Merck as well. Perry was ultimately shut down by the Texas Legislature. Here we have the same problem with the Covid vaccine. There are financial strings attached, including Congress becoming millionaires off of Pfizer and Moderna stock, who cannot be held legally responsible for health complications. It is not fully tested. It does not have the longevity in study that other vaccines do. Anything against the government narrative or dissent in the vaccines validity or safety are wiped from social media. There are reports of it damaging the reproductive systems in young children, but there are no long term studies to confirm that or not. In the case of Covid, who's death toll is up for debate as to how many people died because of the virus and those who died for other reasons but had it in their system, it's here to stay and we have to learn to live with it. Although a different type of disease altogether, African nations have learned to live with Malaria without vaccines. There have been a lot of deaths related to it, but through natural immunity passed down and picked up through their own exposure growing up in a malarious environment, most experience it as a mild to severe cold. This disease, otherwise, would more likely kill an average American. I took the prophylaxis Malarone to combat it, which was very effective, and avoided contracting Malaria for my entire 9 years rotating for work in Ghana. If a Ghanaian took Malarone, then they would destroy their natural immunity and they'd be just as susceptible to dying from the disease as the average American. There are certain jobs that I can see being cause for having vaccines mandated that take place in certain geographical regions or involve highly contagious conditions, such as healthcare workers. However, they need to have long term research completed before they can be mandated.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. or B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. - if we can't reduce the costs of private plans for option C There has to be a safety net for the most vulnerable and the private plan costs have to be reduced. We need to allow for the import of prescription drugs to lower those costs. With no government intervention, you get inflated prices, as companies try to make as much profit as possible. With government intervention, it's normally heavy handed, limits treatment options, and stifles innovation. It's a delicate balance that we have to tread while trying to find ways to lower costs from origination of products to implementation of procedures.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger We need to mind our own business, preemptively shut down threats only to our country, and crater any country that would attack us. If other countries are fighting, we can sell munitions to the ones we like. Otherwise, good luck. No more nation building. We spent 20 years on cowards that rolled over like a beaten dog at the first sign of conflict. Never again.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

It's their problem. They can deal with it as they choose.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Absolutely. They are the greatest threat we face in the world. We have to keep our military in ship shape, better protect our nations secrets, which includes removing/restricting personnel, including Congressmen, that have been compromised by spies, from privileged positions and rebuild our nations infrastructure, including manufacturing, so that we China decides to pull the plug on their exports, our nation doesn't fall flat on it's face, because we've lost the ability to be self sufficient.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Killing off other governments that kept terrorism in check in the first place doesn't help. Terrorism will be wart that doesn't fully go away, no matter how many times we cut it off. Black ops in countries hosting terrorism are fine. I would not vote to invade a country, unless we took a direct hit or had a near miss. If we do have to invade a country that sponsored terrorism, I'd want it turned into a crater and then leave. Let them pick up their dead and leave us alone for a while.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Complete the border wall. If they dig under, make it deeper. If they climb over, make it taller or add anti-scaling devices. They they cut through it, add layers. Protecting our borders is cheaper than the cost of illegal immigrants that make it across and benefit from systems designed for our citizens.

State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Absolutely! If they don't care about the welfare of our CITIZENS, then they have no business taking the money from the people they choose to not protect.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Anyone that goes through the proper channels. My wife and mother-in-law were immigrants from China. My mother-in-law spent 10 years saving and going through the massive red tape of China to bring her daughter to the United States for a better life. Now my wife and I have a young daughter and my mother-in-law also lives with us as one big happy family. As long as folks go through the process and do it right, I don't have a problem, but they need to start the process from their own country. Crossing the border and demanding citizenship will not work for me. I also believe that we need to end the process of taking in anchor babies. Citizenship should not be granted through illegal acts, which includes illegally crossing our borders. Crossing the border illegally does not make anyone a citizen. It makes them a criminal.

VALUES

Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Disagree

I don't see sexual orientation and gender identity as mutually exclusive. Two consenting adults can do what they want as long as they don't try to force their will on others. I believe gender identity is a mental disease. I will not approve of men competing in women's sports or using female specific faculties. Folks can call themselves whatever they want, but I will not force anyone to have to abide by that perception. Women need to be protected. It's mind boggling that we have to explain that.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Classroom cameras will help discourage this behavior. I do believe an app for parents to access the classes, through cameras, would be a great tool, as long as they are parent specific with encrypted passwords, only entered by the school IT person, and access is blocked during any school threat event. The app should also allow IT to track anyone using the app on school grounds during a school threat event, as a safety precaution.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was raised Lutheran and to be modest. I have difficulties touting myself, but I will vehemently defend those that need it. I don't judge others for their choices, as long as it doesn't impinge on my own freedoms. I look at issues from opposite perspectives to try and understand what is going on. I do not believe in absolutes. You will gain nothing with that view and might as well embrace the communist culture we despise, if you do. I do not take money from others. I do not want to spend your money. My campaign is self funded. My showing of good faith to constituents is my own skin in the game. I feel it is an acceptable and worthy risk to invest in the future of my country and so I give my own funds gladly to that end. I will not ask anyone to trust me nor should they trust anyone in politics. Anyone in public office or vying for it should be scrutinized and held accountable for their choices. I have also not asked for any endorsements. Folks can if they want, but I will not seek them out, as I want a candidate in office that has no ties to the swamp that Washington DC has become. I have nothing to hide and will be as transparent as needed.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

We need an ID for everything else in the country. Why would we not have to show one for the most important function we as citizens serve?

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Voter ID Laws must be in place. If you can't present an ID to vote on the direction of our country, you shouldn't be allowed to vote. It has to be the bare minimum. And no more mail in ballots. Absentee ballots or exemptions for the disabled are fine, but mail ballots are too easily fraudulent. Other than that, I would rather voting practices stay state level, so I would emphasize that voter rolls should be cleansed of any voter not active in the past 10 years to cut down on the chance for fraud.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Reparations should not be given to anyone based on race. Biden recently wanted to give reparations for illegal immigrant families that were separated. It's ludicrous.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Yes, when facts are cherry picked to inflame and incite a certain demographic into believing that cops are killing them more purposefully than folks of other races, turning that demographic into powder keg, then when it explodes, due to an unfortunate event, we see cities across America burn. Domestic Terrorism needs a legal definition and consequence for people that would violently riot and burn American homes and businesses. That does include folks that broke into the US Capitol as well. People need to be held accountable for their actions and this all needs to be done on the federal level because the states and cities won't do it themselves. Now...just because people burned buildings, doesn't mean that people peacefully protesting should be lumped into that category or charged. Same goes for the US Capitol, where people were let into the building or were far from the assault and just walked in, none the wiser. Charges for dereliction of duty should also be brought for city and state officials that intentionally deny defense and protection of their people from impending violence. How many cities do we have to see burn, where mayors refuse to have police quell the violence before they are held accountable for allowing the destruction to continue?

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

I spent 14 years in the oilfield. I fully support fracking.

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

Neither fits my view. We need a balanced approach. Sensible environmental regulations that don't preclude any business from buckling under the weight of the cost from reforms. I don't want rivers turned green but I also don't want to put chemical companies out of business.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Lean Conservative

I'm not stuck to a strict set of rules. I run Republican because it most closely encapsulates my own views, but I am not bound to the letter of the conservative code. A good idea is a good idea, regardless of where it comes from.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

There are none.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I would work to impose the following or, in the case of it being outside federal purview, champion the following: 1 - Term limits: House - 6yrs Senate - 12 years 2 - Cap college tuition costs per semester hour up to a Bachelor's Degree to make public college more affordable for the public or pull funds from the schools that refuse to do so. Books should be included in the tuition cost. No more professor scams of a few changes in a book, republishing it, and forcing students to pay $200 for a book with no real material changes. Make all credits transferable between accredited universities. 3 - Promote Trade Schools 4 - No Vaccine or Drug Mandates without long term testing. 5 - Refill Social Security coffers by placing a tax on marijuana, which is already legal in half the country, then funnel that money straight into a lock-box that Congress cannot touch. Marijuana can be legalized federally and then the states are free to ban it or allow it as they see fit. It takes one person to legalize marijuana right now, so we can be pro-active or miss the boat entirely. 6 - Prison reform by allowing non-violent prisoners being paid wages for a work detail to have access to acquiring an education while incarcerated, so that they may leave with a skill that may help cut down on recidivism since they will have skin in the game. Repeat violent offenders given little bail or not held in prison to be levied a federal penalty that must be paid in full before being release from prison, kind of like a tax or federal bail to get out of jail, that keeps crooks in jail when local and state governments fail their people by dumping violent offenders back into the streets. 7 - Continue pushing American manufacturing with tariffs on any manufacturer that has left the US for another country in the past 30 years. 8 - Designate Social Media as a Public Utility, so that is treated as the public square and Americans are free to again share their views and opinions without the threat of censorship. No more banning of public officials or citizens that the sites or society disagree with. 9 - Legally define domestic terrorism as a federal crime so that we don't have to helplessly watch in horror as animals burn our cities to the ground again. 10 - Update Hate Crime definitions to include political beliefs because conservatives are under attack in plain sight and nothing is done about it. You don't see conservatives beating liberals in the streets just for being who they are, but if they do, they too should be charged. 11 - False accusations of criminal activity, such as rape, should be a felony that incurs the same term in prison for the false accuser as what the falsely accused would have served if convicted. 12 - Military and Veteran Pay and Benefits will Never be Frozen or Delayed 13 - I fully support the Second Amendment and will dutifully ensure that freedom is upheld. 14 - Protect women's sports and faculties. No biological man should be allowed to compete in women's sports. No biological woman taking steroids to become masculine should be allowed in women's sports either. If they can't or won't join the men's team, then they'll just have to do without. No biological males in the women's showers, change rooms, bathrooms or other protected environments that would expose women and young girls to the male form. 15 - School cameras for parents to ensure their children are not being taught inappropriate material, such as CRT or sexually explicit material, using an app that is password encrypted and only entered by the school's IT person. App will allow schools to update parents of any school threats. Cameras will be disabled during any school threat, except for authorities to try and pin the target of the threat, and tracking on school property will be allowed during threats as well. 16 - Border Security - Complete the wall. Resume President Trump's "stay in Mexico" policy. Boot illegal immigrants back to their home country at that country's expense, whether in payment or deduction of aid. End the acceptance of anchor babies and any further granting of citizenship to children born to parents illegally in the country. 17 - Resume energy independence. Continue fracking and drilling as needed to ensure we are no longer under OPEC's thumb. 18 - Pay down the national debt by passing a Balanced Budget Amendment, reducing/merging redundant departments and programs or eliminating them altogether like the IRS. Eliminate payments to countries that hate us. Pay a fair share to the UN and NATO. Let's finally make payments on our debt and be responsible for future generations. 19 - This is not an exhaustive list, but are some of my priorities.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I am fine with background checks to ensure felons or violent crooks are not allowed to make a purchase.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

Everyone knows what guns can be used for. It's the person that makes the choice. Faulty manufacturing that results in injury or death is a different story.
