RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Pregnancy termination should be reserved for cases of rape and incest and when the mother's life is in danger as determined by a qualified medical professional. I do not "support" abortion at any stage during pregnancy, and do not believe that it should be legal for any reason beyond imminent threat to the mother's life after the first trimester.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Do you support the proposed Yes for Life amendment to the Kentucky Constitution, which makes clear that there is no state constitutional right to abortion?
Yes
I have already signed the pledge to support this amendment.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Neutral
I believe that a consenting and competent adult has the right to make that decision about their own life and it is up to God to deliver any consequences. I do not believe that this is a Constitutional exercise of government. Liberty means allowing others to make decisions for themselves with which we may not agree or understand.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Abolish federal income tax and the IRS; raise small business expensing allowance; repeal LLET; further reduce or eliminate income tax; consider modernizing the sales tax base; allow local sales tax; repeal inventory tax/increase tax credit; eliminate TPP tax; repeal inheritance tax; drastically reduce or eliminate property tax; eliminate FICA and Medicare tax.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Abolish the IRS, TSA, FDA, and Department of Education; privatize social security; end the failed War on Drugs; cancel contracts for unnecessary military equipment; end programs that supply military grade equipment to local law enforcement; defund and repeal ACA. In summary, ask "Is this a Constitutional expenditure?" and adjust accordingly.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
A private business should never be forced to provide services to anyone against their will.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
The government should never be allowed to close churches under any circumstances.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
D. Taxpayer funded healthcare should be abolished in all forms, including Medicare and Medicaid. Government interference and subsidies are wholly responsible for the inflation in healthcare costs that has led to it being unaffordable. Healthcare should be exposed to a truly free market and those in need should be served through private charities.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Never.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Eradicating the threat of Islamic terrorism is fruitless without patronizing terrorist groups. The US should be diligent in attempting to identify and mitigate legitimate and imminent threats against our nation without compromise.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
I do not support any interventions that are not a response to an imminent threat to Americans. Disputes between Palestinians and Israel are between Palestinians and Israel.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Agree
Visitors to our nation should be here legally. Being here legally should not be so difficult.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
I believe that any non-violent, self-sufficient person who wants to move to the US and contribute according to their ability should be able to do so.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
Philosophically, it is not the duty of the taxpayers or of federal or state government to provide education. In reality, I believe that because education is unlikely to be referred to local oversight, educational decisions should be left to the family and the funding that would otherwise be given to a public school should follow the child.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Neutral
I do not believe that government should be based on any theory of morality beyond protecting the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness of individual Americans. That said, many Judeo-Christian values, I believe, are in line with what most people, even those of other faiths and spiritualities, would consider consistent with their own morals.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
I do not believe that any class of individuals should be extended special protections.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian who has been saved by the grace of Jesus Christ, who gave us all the freedom to choose Him or not.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Neutral
Government should not be involved in marriage at all. Any consenting adults who want to be married from a legal standpoint should be able to do so. God can decide Himself whether or not that marriage is valid and pleasing to Him. My personal and spiritual beliefs about marriage do not give me the authority to impose them upon someone else who want to be united. Limited government means that we are not going to use it to enforce our morals upon other people when there is no legitimate victim.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Proper identification to register to vote or to cast votes should be required; mail-in ballots should be eliminated or minimized; ballot harvesting should be prohibited; deceased voters and voters who have moved out of a given jurisdiction should be removed from voter rolls.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I believe that racism, discrimination on the basis of race, and racially-motivated violence are valid concerns. The degree to which they are a legitimate domestic security threat is not a subject I have studied. Therefore, I can't make an educated response.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
There is nothing stopping individuals who support reparations from funding them privately and charitably other than a genuine desire to make them.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Neutral
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The general purpose of government is to protect individual rights. Government should be otherwise restricted.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
I describe myself as very conservative because my belief is that the role of government was intended to be minimal, and therefore, very conservative.
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
https://ky22.hereisliberty.com/
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I am a political outsider who is dedicated to restoring integrity to Kentucky's legislature, as well as power and freedom to Kentuckians. I support term limits, regard taxation as a form of theft which is a necessary evil, and school choice. I believe that the smallest and most frequently disregarded minority is the individual, which is the only party that the Constitution gives authority to the government to protect. I do not believe it is appropriate to use the government to enforce my morals upon others when there is no victim.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Disagree
Any departmental policy that violates an individual's Constitutional rights is void and any party that violates those rights should be held accountable.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Agree
In most situations, if there is no victim other than the accused, no crime has been committed. The legal system is not an appropriate entity to address legitimate mental health concerns. An exception to this general rule includes driving under the influence of any substance that places innocent people at risk of harm or death. There is no inherent right to willfully alter your faculties with a substance and then operate a vehicle.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
None. All gun laws are unconstitutional.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
Do you support the expansion of gambling in Kentucky?
Yes
It is outside of the Constitutional authority of government to limit consensual interactions between adults.
The LGBTQ+ agenda’s advocacy for puberty blockers, biological males competing on girls’ sports teams, and allowing biological males into girls’ restrooms, locker rooms, and showers threatens the wellbeing of our children.
Strongly Agree
