QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
None, except rare circumstances where both mom and baby will die otherwise.
ECONOMY
Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.
Strongly Disagree
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Strongly Agree
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
The first order of business is to spur our stalling economy by repealing Biden’s tax increases on capital gains, income, and his other taxes and fees. We also need to eliminate crony, favoritism tax breaks on unproductive “green” technologies. Beyond that, however, we need structural tax reform via a flat tax. The virtues of a flat tax are many: it is predictable, simple, fair to all Americans, and would eliminate red tape and massive zones of favoritism and cronyism.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
• I stand with the Founders, who believed a Judeo-Christian cultural base was necessary to sustain freedom. • I believe the First Amendment was written to protect the church from interference by the state, as well as to protect free exercise of religion in EVERY area of life from state interference. • I believe the First Amendment was also written to protect the church and individuals from a state-run religion. • Thomas Jefferson’s often-misused phrase “separation of church and state” (from a letter he wrote, not a law) reaffirms the protection of religious freedom from government interference in every area of life.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
The incumbent member of US Congress Texas CD 26 , my opponent, was one of a relatively small number of House Republicans that voted for a radically oppressive bill, HR 550, which would encourage vaccine mandates. It would do this by imposing a federal vaccine mandate surveillance system on local pharmacies and even community groups. By contrast, I believe that for Covid, there should be no vaccine mandates—not federal, state, local, school, or by employers. For the federal government, there are NO constitutional grounds for any such mandate. Below the federal level, data is conclusive that Covid is spread by both the vaccinated and unvaccinated and therefore any state, school, or employer mandates are unnecessary and do more harm than good. What harm? LIVES are being lost because necessary healthcare workers have been fired and diagnosis and treatments for deadly diseases are not performed. LIVELIHOODS are being lost, which causes mental, physical, and material harm to families. HEALTH is being lost, as I just enumerated. FREEDOM is being lost, as large institutions gain power over smaller ones and over individuals. Freedom, once lost, is seldom regained. America’s identity is connected to freedom and limited government. Losing freedom and limited government means we risk losing America and all the future benefits of a free, constitutional America where top-down control is held in check. Vaccine mandates also foster risky, failed policies that focus only on vaccines and lockdowns, and ignore a more holistic approach to prevention and treatments. Lives have likely been lost from such a narrow, once-size-fits-all policy. Therefore, as far as Covid is concerned, there should be no vaccine mandates.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C) , but with a serious study, perhaps with House hearings, regarding the feasibility of D.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
C) We must defend Americans, not globalist interests. American loyalty is to Americans, not the world. Americans are not “citizens of the world.” Americans are citizens of a particular nation, America. God has organized the human race into nations, with boundaries and sovereignty, for a purpose—for social order and so that people would have enough stability to contemplate higher questions and search for Him (see Acts 17: 26-27). • For too long, American national defense and foreign policy have benefited special interests rather than the broad fabric of our communities. We need a strong military. We need a robust defense. But we must prioritize the nation, not globalist entities or utopian ideas of solving the problems of nations that do not want our solutions. To that end I will introduce or support laws to: • Audit every new foreign policy with an “AMERICANS FIRST IMPACT STATEMENT.” • Make every national security action and expense show a direct benefit to the American people, not crony elites or foreign entities. • Be aware of the self-interested motives of adversaries like China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Jihadists, and others—and build a national security that makes them fear violating our national interest. • Trade policies must be fair to American citizens, workers, and families. • We must secure the border and stop the illegal invasion. • U.S. diplomats, foreign affairs, and high-ranking military officers should be prohibited from working for non-American entities that do business with America for 10 years after retirement. • Withdraw from the United Nations.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
I’m not sure the threat can be “eradicated.” One of the deficits of US foreign policy has been assuming we can transform deeply Islamic nations and jihadist organizations and convince the Muslim world to totally abandon all radicalism. There is a hard core ideology of jihadism that has been present in Islam for literally over 1,300 years. The power of ideas and conversion to Western thinking is real and should be celebrated, but it’s not something to base a national foreign policy on. We must be realistic: jihadism is here to stay, and likely cannot be eradicated. So what can we do? A lot. We can effectively counter Islamic terrorism to better secure the nation and protect the lives of our citizens. Steps include: 1) Close the southern border, including making sure we complete the Border Wall. 2) Intensify heavy intelligence to know how many Islamists are coming through the southern and northern borders. 3) Harden all ports of entry where Islamists could get into the country legally or illegally. 4) Devote more human and technological intelligence and espionage of Islamist networks in the Middle East, across the world, and in the United States. This would include knowing the relationship of Islamists like the Muslim Brotherhood and Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) with nations like China. 5) Cooperate with other nations facing Islamic terrorism, and encourage European nations not to open themselves to massive migration of Muslims into the western world. 6) Restore energy independence, so we are not economic hostages to Muslim nations. 7) Pursue a robust and strategic military that makes Islamists fear us. Ultimately, we must understand how they think, and convince them that acting out on their ideology is too high a price to pay. 8) Encourage Christian missionary evangelism efforts overseas and in the United States, especially aimed at Islam. Christianity is the best “westernization” and pacification tool the West has. Our government should make every legal effort to allow and encourage it. 9) Scrutinize legal immigrants to make sure Islamists are not sneaking in; we need to filter out cloaked terrorists.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
I agree with the principle articulated by State’s Trust/Right on Immigration, a coalition of conservative leaders led by the Texas Public Policy Foundation. Their plank on legal immigration states: “Immigrants must be admitted to the United States based on the overall best interests and needs of American citizens and communities.” American interests must be first. That means legal immigration should have a high bar, and those seeking to immigrate should undergo adequate scrutiny to see if they will assimilate into our society, are compatible with founding American principles, and will contribute to the advancement of those principles. Today, we often take in massive numbers of refugees from tragic parts of the world, but they don’t necessarily share our values, are not necessarily going to be loyal to our interests or security, and can cloak Islamic radicals or are themselves open to radicalization. Further, we extend academic and professional opportunities to Chinese who turn out to be working to advance Chinese espionage or to weaken America some other way. I would advocate tightening the criteria for legal immigration, and even for legal work visas, to be something close to the standards we set for citizenship: a loyalty statement to America and American principles as the host nation; formal classes on American history and values; and a legal oath to uphold American principles and values. In other words, we need to make assimilation a requirement for immigration, not just for citizenship.
VALUES
Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am an evangelical Christian who believes that Jesus Christ is God, the second person of the triune Godhead, who was incarnated—fully human yet fully God—lived a sinless life, and was crucified as an atoning sacrifice for sin, and rose physically on the third day. He ascended into heaven, and will return to judge the living and the dead. Forgiveness of sins is applied to anyone who puts their full trust in Christ, acknowledging who He is, their own sin and need of His forgiveness, and the sufficiency of His atoning work and resurrection. After salvation, we are called to spiritually grow and disciple others, and bless others in the body of Christ. I believe in conservative theology regarding the nature and attributes of God, His creation of the world, and His inerrant revelation in the 66 books of the Bible. As a candidate, I believe in the sanctity of what God has created, including: Human life. Genders (Male and Female only). Marriage. Family. Human government. The Church. The nation of Israel, for which God still has a role though they at present deny Jesus as Messiah. Regarding government, God has given it authority to protect life, religious freedom and the propagation of the Gospel, protect marriage and family, and protect national boundaries and sovereignty. Personally, my wife Marlo and our family serve at Rockpointe Church in Flower Mound Texas. We also serve the Refuge for Women in Denton (helping trafficked women escape that life), the Men of Nehemiah in south Dallas (helping addicted men walk away from that life and into productive lives), serve the least of these in Cornerstone Ministries in S. Dallas that feed and clothe those that have lost their ability to provide for themselves, and host missionaries to American youth in our homes during their yearlong missions.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Our current congressman in US House of Representative Texas CD 26, my opponent, is the ONLY House Republican to support lowering the voting age to 16. He vigorously defended it on Tucker Carlson’s show, when Carlson rightly called the idea “insane.” Lowering the voting age to 16 plays into the Democrat plan to undermine election integrity by changing the rules to expand the voters (or the number of fabricated votes) that will ensure their agenda. To counter a threat, you must understand it. Our congressman doesn’t fully grasp the threat to election integrity. By contrast, I would vote to stop Nancy Pelosi’s attempt to nationalize elections and reverse state election integrity laws through her proposed HR1 bill or other camouflage legislation. I would vote to protect state voter ID and other laws to ensure that every legal vote counts, and nothing more. I would oppose vote-by-mail schemes, ballot harvesting, drive-up voting, unreasonably long voting periods, illegal immigrant voting, and lowering the voting age; many of these are state affairs, but many affect the federal government. Further, I want to counter Big Tech and “Woke Corporate” hijacking of elections and censorship as we saw the media and Mark Zuckerberg do in 2020. I also will file a bill to make the first Tuesday of November a national holiday and conduct our elections in one day, like we used to, and ensuring we have plenty of polling locations to allow every eligible voter an opportunity to exercise their right to vote.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
First, I disagree with the Biden administration’s allegation that “domestic terrorism” based on “white supremacism” is our top priority internal threat, or even close. White supremacists are anathema, but they are a fringe. The administration is misusing this terminology as a way to demonize wide-ranging dissent from its failed policies. Marxist, racist groups like Blacks Lives Matter are a greater national security threat. Generally, unfortunately racism has always existed due to the sinful nature of human beings. I am against racism and discrimination of any kind. That being said, discrimination takes many forms. We must continually work to help people see others not by their skin color but rather their character. We also cannot solve any racial issues that exist by pushing other forms of discrimination. This includes the teaching and implementation of Critical Theory and its derivative, Critical Race Theory (CRT), which is itself racist, judging people by race and not as individuals. This violates the scriptural view that there is only one "human race" (Acts 17:26-27) and that we are to avoid favoritism and partiality in systems of justice and in how we treat others as individuals. We must seek out and remove any forms of racism and indoctrination in our government at every level, and guard against discrimination by big tech against conservatives and also the separating of Americans by race, class, gender or even vaccine status.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
As an energy sector professional I have been a direct witness to responsible use of hydraulic fracking that has been one of the most innovative technologies that supports an America First platform for ourselves and our children. We must not surrender our security to OPEC that collude with each other on outputs and pricing to our detriment. The United States is not an energy poor country just a poorly organized one. I bring direct experience to secure our National Security of Energy Independence
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A)
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
I come from a multi-generational North Texas family that can trace its first ancestors to 1849 after participating in Peters Colony land grants. I have lived in the North Texas area since 1972. We moved to Flower Mound, Texas in 1993 after which we subsequently moved to Bartonville, Texas in 1999 where we currently reside. I am 55 years old and have been married to my wife of 28 years. We have three children, twin boys that are 24 years old and a younger son that is 20. In addition to our three biological children, we have hosted six German Pais apprentices in our home, that have become our extended family. They each served for a year through our local Church Rockpointe. Pais is a discipleship-led organization that offers a human catalyst to create partnerships between local schools, community initiatives, businesses, and churches for positive change in Denton County. Faith has been the cornerstone of our lives. We have been active in two church plants in Flower Mound, the second of which we are still very active in being Rockpointe Church. My wife and I have been active in Denton and North Texas initiatives for change including volunteering in Denton, TX. at a group home for sex trafficked women seeking a way out, in South Dallas at a Food Kitchen that serves the homeless and those that have lack of food for their families several times a month, and the Men of Nehemiah (a drug and alcohol recovery ministry in South Dallas.) I enjoy long distance running and have completed 5 marathons and continue a very active life style. We believe in GOD and faith informs all decisions of integrity and moral aspects that I consider. As a passionate highly-motivated business leader, with an outstanding record of successful leadership. I bring an innovative high energy leadership style with a long entrepreneurial history of participating in business startups and turnarounds across several differing markets. I have a history of being a creative proactive problem solver adept at leading multiple complex projects in dynamic fast-paced environments, while maintaining a solid reputation of professionalism and integrity. I participated in several business energy startups, and was a National Speaker through the Society of Petroleum Engineers in Alaska, California, Wyoming, Colorado, and Texas on secondary and tertiary oil field recovery techniques. I was invited to be Speaker at University of Kansas TORP (tertiary oil recovery project symposium) as well as speaker at the Petroleum Technology Transfer Council on improved oil recovery techniques in Jackson, MS. I as well applied these techniques in practical field projects across the U.S.A. Through our life experiences we bring a very personal understanding of what it is like to live in our community. We faced every manner of struggles and sought balance as we raised all of our children in Denton County, brought them up through the public school system, and sought to serve in our community. The United States is in a pivotal position in all of our lives. Competing narratives abound in our vast Country today. We have to put dynamic vocal leaders in positions of service in office. Our congressional district is one of the fastest growing districts in the State of Texas. We have to nominate and elect those that have a servant-leader heart and dedication. I bring a passion to serve and lead that will not be extinguished by the enormous challenges we presently face at the local and national level
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I wrote down my policy positions when I decided to run for this office. Then I consulted with many counselors, as the Bible instructs, to critique and flesh it out. The result was my OATH TO THE PEOPLE, which is 12 policy and ethical promises to the citizens of CD26 and America. My website contains the entire oath, but the topline promises are these: #1 - Stop the Invasion. Secure the Border. #2 - Repeal Medical Tyranny. Reopen America. #3 - Stop Critical Race Theory (CRT) and Indoctrination. #4 - Restore Jobs. Cut Inflation. #5 - Protect Innocent Human Life from Conception to Natural Death. #6 - Promote the Family. Protect Our Children. #7 - Defend Religious Freedom. #8 - Restore Our Laws, Including Fair Elections. #9 - Defend Americans, Not Globalism. #10 - End the Practice of Insider Trading in Congress. #11 - Increase Transparency – All House Bills Online for 72 Hours Before the House Votes. #12 - Serve God and the People, Not the Swamp
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The 2ND AMENDMENT is clear. Backdoor policies that let you keep a firearm but destroy your ability to lawfully use it are unacceptable. I will fight in Congress to expose any federal power grab legislatively. I will support the NRA and take the lead in filing amicus briefs with the Supreme Court for any case that promotes Federal power usurpations
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
