QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Every person, from conception to natural death, possesses inherent dignity and inestimable worth and should be treated with respect—including pre-born children, elderly individuals, those with special needs, and others marginalized by society, regardless of their beliefs.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

I oppose euthanasia and assisted suicide, as they are the ultimate form of discrimination against persons with disabilities, including newborns, the elderly, and infirmed.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I do not support legalized abortion.

ECONOMY

Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.

Strongly Disagree

The free enterprise system is the most effective and just economic system in the world because it creates opportunity, rewards self-reliance and hard work, and unleashes productivity. Free enterprise is an engine of charity that has made America the most philanthropic nation on earth.

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

The government, at all levels, should not spend money it does not have and avoid passing on debts to future generations. I run my small business this way, and it’s the way government should run, too.

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Our tax system should be simple, transparent, and fair, but the current tax code is complex, unjust, and threatens growth and prosperity. Taxes that are too high or poorly designed can destroy wealth, discourage investment, and stifle economic opportunity. Government should tax only to raise money for its constitutional functions.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

As a pastor, I taught that all people possess the God-given right to live, speak, worship, and act according to their religious beliefs peacefully and publicly without fear of reprisal from government and without compulsion to oppose their religion or conform to culture or government. Americans’ First-Amendment right to religious freedom remains fundamental, indispensable, and inviolable.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

I also oppose allowing punitive or discriminatory action to be taken against a person or business based on their religious belief or moral conviction.

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

Liberty is founded upon a belief in the inherent dignity of the human person and recognition that individuals possess God-given rights including, but not limited to, the right to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness. The fundamental role of government is to protect those God-given rights as recognized in our Declaration of Independence, and the US Constitution, including its Bill of Rights.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

I oppose vaccine mandates.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. Individual citizens and their doctors, not the government, should choose the type and amount of health care and health insurance they need. I believe that America’s healthcare system requires an overhaul and that more competition and more healthcare choices should be foundational to any reforms. Healthcare providers and insurance companies should compete for customers.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. America is a noble country that should remain the world’s foremost economic and military superpower by pursuing America-first fiscal policies and peace through military strength. We should trust, but verify commitments made to America by other countries. America should actively promote freedom, justice and equality around the world but not serve as the world’s police force. America should not enter into unnecessary foreign wars. America must remain the world’s most generous country with respect to helping the poor, the marginalized, and the disenfranchised.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

As a Christ-follower and as a pastor, I'm horrified by the rise of anti-Semitic acts on our city streets and around the world. These events should never be excused by politicians. I support efforts to combat the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel, including supporting legislation like the Combating BDS Act. I believe that the BDS movement promotes veiled anti-Semitism and seeks to undermine Israel’s economic prosperity.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

The fact that the U.S. and China have closely linked economies must not obscure the differences between our free economy and China’s state-controlled system. The current economic relationship must be managed to prevent damage to U.S. security interests and the privacy of our citizens. We should be clearsighted about when our interests coincide with those of China and when they do not. We should always be prepared to protect our rights and interest when they are threatened by China.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

We should finish the job against ISIS while encouraging regional allies to step up. The U.S. needs to crush ISIS while avoiding the temptation to nation-build in Syria. While a military presence is still required for counter-terrorism and intelligence gathering, the U.S. should push for regional Arab allies to assume greater responsibility for stabilizing eastern Syria with troops and economic support. We should renew our commitment to preventing terrorist groups from controlling territory because it allows them space from which to plan attacks: The 9/11 attacks were planned from Afghanistan, and more recent attacks in Europe were planned from Syria. We should harden defenses for the next wave of foreign fighters who seek to infiltrate our homeland. This would involve monitoring the travel patterns of terrorists and cajoling allies and partners into hardening their own security measures, while working to bolster intelligence sharing about developing threats to the U.S. and its allies. We should allocate resources to contain future threats from newly released terrorists—at home and abroad. We should determine which of these detainees have a legal right to enter the U.S., assess whether they have committed federal crimes, and consider prosecuting them. It is possible that convicted terrorists who have not renounced Islamist ideology could attempt to carry out attacks upon release. The U.S. must ensure it can safely monitor these newly released convicts.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

I believe in an immigration system built on a secure border, an orderly, well-defined process by which immigrants can become naturalized citizens and requires all immigrants to obey American laws and pledge their allegiance to our Constitution and our flag. I oppose blanket amnesty.

State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

I oppose open borders and sanctuary cities.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Immigration should be merit-based. Bipartisan, fair, responsible, humane, and prudent solutions are possible if we address immigration issues one at a time. What is best for America and all Americans should be our primary focus.

VALUES

Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

I oppose laws that prohibit exemptions on the grounds of conscience or religious beliefs and/or coerce uniformity of thought and speech on beliefs about marriage, sex, and what it means to be male and female, undermining both fairness and freedom. While individual citizens may choose how and where to live their lives, no one should be forced to endorse or celebrate another’s choices if those choices violate a person’s deeply held religious beliefs.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

I believe individuals should be evaluated by their actions and the content of their character, not the color of their skin or socioeconomic status.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My Statement of Faith as a Christ-follower and as a Pastor: I believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. I believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe in the deity and humanity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His present rule as Head of the Church, and in His personal return in power and glory. My Statement of Values and Principles: - I believe families are the building blocks of a strong nation because they serve as the training grounds of love, loyalty, personal responsibility, discipline, and citizenship. - I support the God-ordained institutions of marriage and family. I also recognize and honor the courageous efforts of those who parent alone. - I believe every person, from conception to natural death, possesses inherent dignity and inestimable worth and should be treated with respect—including pre-born children, elderly individuals, those with special needs, and others marginalized by society, regardless of their beliefs. - I believe we are free because of those who have answered the call to serve. America’s veterans have been our nation’s strength and remain a national treasure. America has a sacred trust with our veterans, and I am committed to ensuring care and dignity for them and their families. - I believe we must have election integrity. We must ensure that the American people, regardless of party, have confidence in the fairness and security of the election process - our republic depends on it. We must enact policies that ensure honesty, accuracy, and transparency in all elections, beginning with mandatory photo ID to vote. - I champion conservative principles rooted in free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, and a strong national defense. - I espouse traditional American values that align with the Bible. - I seek to uphold all Americans’ First Amendment rights of free speech and the free exercise of religion. - I disavow the ideas that only certain views are acceptable in the public square and that people can or should be cancelled, shamed, or bullied because of their views. - I support lower taxes so people can keep an increasing amount of their hard-earned money. - I support eliminating unnecessary and onerous regulations so that commerce can flourish and an ever-increasing number of good-paying jobs can be created. - I honor and respect police officers and all first-responders who lay their lives on the line for their fellow Americans. I will not defund the police. - I support the rule of law, and ensuring law and order by the vigorous enforcement of all Constitutional laws. - I support Americans’ Seventh Amendment rights to the due process of law and equal protection under the law. - I support Americans’ right to educate their children in the school of their own choosing so that all children can have the opportunity to receive a pro-America, world-class education in a safe setting with excellent teachers. - I will work to empower families and reward schools that demonstrate success. - I will vote for and appoint judges and justices that interpret and apply the law and the Constitution as written. - I oppose judicial activism and the notion that judges and justices should pursue their personal policy preferences or goals. Only elected representatives should pursue specific policy goals. - I support American’s Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms. - I believe that, as a matter of national security, America should be energy independent and that America should produce its own medical supplies, military equipment, and critical technology infrastructure. I support a “Made in America” agenda. - I believe that we must learn from our past, not erase it. I believe we must learn from our mistakes, not delete them. I believe that all Americans together must strive for a more perfect Union.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

We must have election integrity. We must ensure that the American people, regardless of party, have confidence in the fairness and security of the election process - our republic depends on it. We must enact policies that ensure honesty, accuracy, and transparency in all elections, beginning with mandatory photo ID to vote.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

I support the following steps to secure our elections: - Fully implement mandatory photo ID to vote – the people of North Carolina amended their Constitution to require it. Every day that passes undermines the legitimacy of self-governance. - No ballot harvesting. - No paying for vote collection or registration. - Regular voter roll maintenance so there aren’t thousands of dead people registered to vote. - Allow close inspection of the vote-counting process. - Return absentee balloting to its original purpose: A method to vote for people who won’t be in town on Election Day or during early voting.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

It’s undeniable that an entire people were subjugated in this country based on the color of their skin for many, many years. I’m a Christ-follower and a pastor, and the Bible tells us that we are all image-bearers of God, equal in his eyes. For government to take money from people today who had nothing to do with that awful period in our history is not the right policy. The right path is to embrace policies that provide all people an equal opportunity to create their own success.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

As a pastor, I counseled families of every color and background. They have the same dreams for themselves and their families. The answer from the left to every problem that exists is “white supremacy.” Everybody they disagree with is somehow a racist. It’s a divisive, almost cult-like ideology. Teaching every person, even babies, that they must see themselves and their neighbors first and foremost on the basis of race is a divisive, perverse worldview that’s not in keeping with scripture. And it’s a view that people of color increasingly reject – support for Republicans among nonwhite voters is growing, not shrinking, and it’s in part because of the Democratic Party’s racialization of everything.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

Hydraulic fracturing is safe. Studies from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Geological Survey, and other academic institutions have concluded that fracking poses no threat to groundwater supplies. Banning fracking is bad news—for the economy, the environment, and for national security. It harms American business and enriches Russia.

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. I affirm the moral obligation to be good stewards of the God-given natural beauty and resources of our state and country. I believe that people are our most valuable resource and that human health and safety are the proper measurements of a policy’s success. Environmental problems are best solved by giving incentives for human ingenuity and the development of new technologies, not through top-down, command-and-control regulations that stifle economic growth and cost thousands of jobs.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

I am a Christian conservative outsider, not a politician. I serve my wife and children and I lead our family's small business as its CEO. For years, I pastored many wonderful people in the church we planted in Wake County. As my campaign progresses, many opportunities will arise for me to articulate my values to the media.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I am running for Congress to Realign America with the Judeo-Christian values, constitutional conservative principles, and America-first policies that have made America great. Five Priorities: 1) Stand for Life - Protect All Life as Sacred - Defund Planned Parenthood - Streamline the Adoption Process 2) Stop Big-Government Socialism            - Restore American Energy Independence - Balance the Federal Budget - Reduce Taxes and Regulations 3) Secure our Streets and Borders - Support Law Enforcement - Keep Families Safe - Enforce the Rule of Law 4) Support Parents’ Rights in Education - Return Control to Local Leaders - Expand School Choice - Fund Opportunity Scholarships 5) Safeguard our Speech - Defend Religious Liberty - Cancel the Cancel-Culture - Big Tech Censorship

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

I honor and support state and local law enforcement as well as our first responders for their public service to our citizens.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

One of the main duties of government is to maintain law and order, while securing for its citizens the freedom to pursue the blessings of liberty and the fruits of their labor. I will not defund the police.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The federal government exists to preserve life, liberty and property, and it is instituted to protect the rights of individuals according to natural law. Among these rights are the sanctity of life; the freedom of speech, religion, the press, and assembly; the right to bear arms; the right of individuals to be treated equally and justly under the law; and to enjoy the fruits of one's labor.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree
