QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Pre-eclampsia, Ectopic, or other lethal conditions which are infrequent and unusual.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Government must ensure everyone is treated equally and has the same opportunity.

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

It works well in some places - and in the places where it does not work we need to find other ways to best educate our kids and prepare them for the future. They are only in school once - we need to deliver for each and every one.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Choose not to answer

The Ten Commandments should not be displayed in public school buildings or court houses.

Choose not to answer

At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.

Strongly Agree

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

Weakness abroad equals a more dangerous world.

EDUCATION

Every state should mandate K-12 standardized tests and the use of teaching software which aligns with Common Core standards.

Strongly Disagree

One-size-fits-all requirements will never be the best option. Whether it is Common Core or other such standards, such power will be used by the government to their own desires and not what is best for our kids.

Parents are the ultimate authority in their child’s education and should be able to freely pursue whatever educational options they deem best for their child.

Strongly Agree

While Texas must be sure each child is learning, pursuing the best option for the child in their own situation is key to success.

Before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE) or Social Emotional Learning (SEL), they must opt-in with written parental permission.

Strongly Agree

Parents need informed consent - not finding out about the content of such things after the fact.

I support the teaching of curricula (such as the 1619 Project, No Place for Hate, Second Step, etc.) that emphasizes slavery and racism as the foundation of American history.

Strongly Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

Our rights are granted by God, not by the government.

I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.

Strongly Disagree

While my heart goes out to anyone struggling with gender identity, compassion for them can not override the basic fairness to our girls who work hard to achieve their athletic goals.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian.

No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent.

Strongly Agree

The only exception is when there is reason to believe the parent is abusing the child or is enabling such abuse.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No. I am the one who puts people in jail.

What books have had the most profound impact on your view of life?

The Bible; Happiness is a Serious Problem by Dennis Prager; My Grandfather's Son by Justice Clarence Thomas; Basic Economics By Thomas Sowell; The Prize by Daniel Yergin; Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow; 1776 by David McCullough; Musicophilla by Oliver Sacks; Deep Work by Cal Newport; One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Alexander Solzhenitsyn; Bellevue by David Oshinksy; The Guns of August by Barbara Tuchman

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I have a long, proven records of examining problems closely and finding practical solutions. Whether it was my work in the US Senate, the White House, or the Pentagon I have always been blessed with the skills to bring people together to solve challenges.

2ND AMENDMENT

Teachers who are licensed to carry should be allowed to carry guns at school.

Strongly Agree

As a police officer, I can say this positively: When seconds count, cops are minutes away. I wish we lived in a world where predators didn't choose "soft" targets like our children in school, but we do not live in that world. Our kids almost never need seat belts or car seats - but we strap them in just in case. Adults in the schools with a License to Carry probably won't need it either - but better safe than sorry.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Do you support mandatory vaccinations for children attending public school?

I am a strong believer in proven inoculations. I am not in favor of mandating experimental vaccines for anyone. Parents need to make these decisions, including the decision to make a choice others disagree with. My children get every proven inoculation available. Vaccines are a miracle. I encourage everyone to get them.

I support mask mandates.

Strongly Disagree

I wish masks were as effective as the media says they are, but they clearly are not. Any mask mandate for the general public has become simple theatre. Even those claiming masks are vital don't believe it - when the cameras are off so are their masks. We are also hurting children - recognizing faces is a key part of development.
