QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

I do not believe taxpayer dollars should directly fund abortion services. We should focus public resources on women’s healthcare, prenatal care, maternal health, and support for mothers, fathers, and families, while respecting conscience rights and the deeply personal nature of these issues.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Did not answer

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Agree

I believe human life has inherent value and deserves legal protection. At the same time, these issues involve difficult and deeply personal circumstances, and we should approach them with compassion, support for mothers, fathers, and families, and respect for life at every stage.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Did not answer

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

It means government should not establish a religion or interfere with personal faith. It should protect religious freedom for all and respect the rights of individuals to live according to their beliefs.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

I believe religious liberty should be protected, and government should be careful about forcing people to violate sincerely held beliefs. We should seek common-sense solutions that respect both freedom and fairness.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious threats to our national security, economy, supply chains, technology, and intellectual property. The United States should remain strong, protect American interests, reduce dependence on China, and defend our economic and national security.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes. Israel is one of America’s strongest allies in the Middle East and an important democratic partner in a dangerous region. A strong U.S.-Israel relationship supports national security, intelligence cooperation, regional stability, and our shared commitment to freedom and self-defense.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

I support preserving Medicaid and Medicare as important safety nets, but I do not support government-run healthcare. My focus is on improving access by reducing barriers to care, supporting providers, speeding up credentialing, lowering costs, and strengthening care in rural and underserved communities.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Disagree

I support using anonymous, aggregated health data to improve policy decisions, but government should be very cautious about maintaining databases tied to individuals’ personal medical conditions. Protecting privacy and limiting government overreach must remain a priority.

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

I support a balanced approach that helps workers earn more without hurting small businesses. Long-term wage growth comes from a stronger economy, workforce training, and creating better-paying jobs.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Free enterprise and private property rights are the foundation of economic growth, job creation, and personal freedom. Small businesses and families do best when government protects those rights instead of getting in the way.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

1. Audit state agencies regularly 2. Cut duplicative programs 3. Reduce bureaucracy 4. Focus spending on public safety, roads, water, and education 5. Improve transparency and accountability

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Disagree

I do not support sanctuary city policies. We should enforce the law, cooperate with federal authorities when public safety is involved, and support legal immigration. We can be compassionate without ignoring the rule of law.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Agree

I support giving more control over education back to states, local communities, parents, and teachers. Decisions are better when made closer to students, not by Washington. We should reduce federal overreach, strengthen accountability, and protect funding that directly benefits kids.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Strongly Agree

Foreign governments should not have influence over American education through funding or partnerships that can shape curriculum, research, or policy. Our schools and universities should answer to American families, taxpayers, and our national interests.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

The goal of the criminal justice system should be to protect the public, uphold the rule of law, hold offenders accountable, support victims, and reduce repeat crime. Public safety must come first, while also giving people a real path to rehabilitation when appropriate.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

Government has a clear responsibility to protect children from predators, trafficking, exploitation, and harmful content online. We should strengthen enforcement, support parents, and make sure technology companies are not allowed to ignore abuse happening on their platforms.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

American courts should be governed by the U.S. Constitution, federal law, and state law—not any foreign or religious legal system. Our legal framework must remain rooted in American law, equal protection, and the constitutional rights of every citizen.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The Second Amendment protects a fundamental constitutional right. We should enforce existing laws, prosecute violent offenders, and keep firearms away from dangerous criminals, but we should not punish law-abiding citizens with unnecessary new restrictions.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

I would describe myself as a conservative. I believe in limited government, personal responsibility, free enterprise, strong public safety, and protecting individual rights. At the same time, I try to approach issues with common sense, focus on practical solutions, and represent my district in a way that reflects both conservative principles and the real needs of New Mexico families.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

Parents have the fundamental right and responsibility to direct their child’s health, education, and overall well-being. Government and schools should work with parents, not around them, and parents should never be shut out of major decisions affecting their children.

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Agree

Children deserve protection, not life-altering decisions pushed on them before they are mature enough to fully understand the consequences. Parents should be involved, and we should approach these issues with care, compassion, and common sense.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Choose not to answer

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Disagree

I do not support broad expansion of gambling. If any expansion is considered, it should be limited, carefully regulated, and focused on areas like sports betting, not an open-ended expansion that creates unintended consequences for families and communities.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My faith is personal to me, and I have my own relationship with God that helps guide my values and decisions. While my family is not in church every week, I believe in prayer, personal responsibility, treating people with respect, and serving others. My faith is reflected in how I try to lead my life, as a partner, father, and public servant, with integrity, humility, gratitude, and a commitment to doing what is right.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Photo ID is a common-sense safeguard that helps protect election integrity and maintain public confidence in our elections. Voting should be secure, fair, and accessible, and requiring identification is a reasonable part of that process.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

I do not support reparations based on race. We should focus on expanding opportunity for all New Mexicans by improving education, growing jobs, strengthening families, and making sure government treats people equally under the law.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Agree

I believe women and girls deserve fairness, privacy, and safety in sports and in spaces meant for women and girls. We should protect those spaces while approaching these issues with respect and common sense.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Disagree

I believe we should be good stewards of our environment, but I do not support alarm-driven policies that raise costs and hurt families. New Mexico should focus on practical, affordable energy solutions that strengthen reliability, innovation, and American energy independence.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Small modular nuclear is the most reliable long-term option, but New Mexico should lead with all-of-the-above energy: oil and gas, solar, wind, geothermal, nuclear, and fusion. We should be an advanced energy leader.
