What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
In our K-12 system, public education is crucial to our state. That being said, there are obvious incentive problems created in the current system. I’m a believer in free market principles and I’m a competitor. Competition raises the bar for everyone and I support that 100%.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
The Ten Commandments should not be displayed in public school buildings or court houses.

No, I believe that the Ten Commandments should be displayed in our public school buildings because our curriculum and the environment we create for our students must align with our values. In fact, I have encouraged local communities to chip in monetarily to display the Ten Commandments in their local schools, as current law leaves it up to local communities to fund on their own dime (separate from any state funds).
At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.

Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Texas Education Code Chapter 26 gives parents protections to ensure their religious or moral beliefs are not trampled upon. Those are protections for parents, not teachers. I have played a pivotal role in shaping policy to ensure state-endorsed curriculum will align with Texas values. We cannot forget that we need to build up a knowledge base of Western Civilization within the next generation and are dependent upon teachers for the delivery of that crucial knowledge.
NATIONAL SECURITY
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes, I believe that our relationship with Israel is important. Israel is one of our biggest allies and we must ensure that, that bond remains strong. The current trend of anti-semitism is despicable and we need to call it out for what it is.
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

As an Air Force C-130 pilot who was deployed twice and flew 120 combat mission in Iraq and Afghanistan, I believe that a strong military is essential to maintain peace. Peace through strength. Full stop.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

I have played a pivotal role in implementing policy to ensure Texas’ curriculum aligns with traditional American values and that parents have full access to educational material. We would have fewer problems in our education system if the DOE was eliminated. I find it interesting that DOE supporters also claim to support local control. Those are irreconcilable in my mind as they are fundamentally opposite on their face.
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

I believe that photo identification should be required to vote. ID is required to purchase items from spray paint to alcohol. Participation in our electoral process should have a far higher standard than both of those.

I support equal opportunities for all Texans. In order to do so, we must ensure that our curriculums align with our values and beliefs. DEI is not equal opportunity. It’s a subtle introduction of communism into the American society and we should reject is outright.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
