QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I belive there should be no circumstances to allow abortion.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
I personally would not support this. I see the validity in asking, becasue no one wants to see a family member suffer, however, who are we to play God? It is not something we should even consider in government.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
We need solutions to grow our economy and support small businesses as they are the backbone of the free market. I feel that local government should have more tax dollars alloted to them and less should go to the federal government. I also feel that the federal income tax rate should be equal across the board. There should be no penalties for business owners and entrepreneurs just because they took a risk and are living out the American Dream.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Welfare. I know it is a taboo thing to stay, but I feel that we are breeding complacency and not a class of people that understand the vlaue of hard work or the value of a dollar. We need a way to stimulate opportunities, not handouts. It is the only sure way to have a lasting and THRIVING economy.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
College is a choice and it should be the individuals responsibility to fund it.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
It is my choice as a business owner to set my standards and rules of conduct. It is also the consumers choice to do business with me. (As a business owner, I have the right to refuse service to anyone)
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
There are no circumstances.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.- It is the one I most relate to however, de-funding will be a process as we have all been paying into it for our entire working lives. This is a litte more complex than the answer I chose, but I do think we should be responsible for our own health insurance. If we want to help people as God called us, we are free to do that, but a governemnt enforcement is overstepping their role.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
As far as the COVID-19 vaccine mandate goes, it has no grounds to be required. That would be equivilant to making the flu or pneumonia vaccine mandated. I believe that we are individually responsible for our bodies and our health and free to treat them how we see fit. No entity can take away those freedoms.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
We have the obligation to protect our citizens by whatever means necessary.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
The boycotts seek to destroy Israel.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
There is a lot of talk but no real action going on.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
I believe we ARE a country founded from immigrants. But I also feel that we have some serious issues regarding our immigration policies currently. We have to have strong regulations and an even stronger vetting process to allow people into our country to stay. We should allow hardworking people that want to add value to our country, not use the already broken system. The goal is to improve the economy, not send it further down the drain.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
Our forefathers were clear when they wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
There are 2 genders.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
We don’t need to diversify people further than they already are. Race does not have anything to do with success or lack there of. It goes back to work ethic.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian. I grew up in church off and on furring my childhood. As an adult I feel it’s important to plant the love of God deep in our children’s souls , so we read our Bible every year as well as attend church and Bible study weekly.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
This isn’t a politically correct statement, but this is the stupidest thing legislate arguing over these days. It’s clear and simple to just show your ID. We need to end this discussion and require it.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I would reinstate the stricter punishments for voter fraud. I am disappointed they watered them down, especially since we are seeing so many cases of fraud.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No. With the welfare system as it stands, we are allowing laziness and complacency. This is the reason we have arguments such as this. People look for handouts instead of opportunities.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Agree
Fracking along with other oil industry tasks are miscommunicated. The never ending regulations imposed on the O&G industry requires them to be as efficient and climate conscious as possible. I beg to say they have stricter regulations than any other industry, healthcare included.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To protect our liberties.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
The Texan Horn The High Plains Pundit
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I am an everyday hardworking Texan seeking to serve everyday hardworking Texans. I have a strong moral compass and the grit the stand up. I genuinely feel that officials are not fighting for us as diligently as we deserve.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
None. Being a responsible gun owner myself, I do not need to be told what is safe or not. If someone is wanting to break the law, they will do it without rules or not. Don’t restrict or punish the many for the errors of the few.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
This is one of those idiotic arguments like voter ID when voting. We need more common sense in politics.
