QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Never. When an embryo is formed, that is a baby that is made in the image of God. Whether the baby is inside the mother's womb or outside the mother's womb, it is murder to abort that life.

ECONOMY

Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.

Strongly Disagree

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

I think federal taxes should be decreased across the board. I want to decrease regulation on small businesses and individual innovation. The federal government should have very little influence on our day to day life. They should prioritize national security, and they should leave taxation and specific policy and regulations to the states.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Private businesses should not be regulated in how they run their business.

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

The "state" should not be establishing a public/national/state religion. Every person should be able to practice their religion of choice in freedom. I also believe all of those people should be able to participate in government with the convictions they hold. If elected, I will be basing my voting/decision making on biblical principle. I also believe churches should be able to talk about politics without repercussions. Freedom of speech is infringed by making rules about what churches and pastors can or cannot say. The US is a government by the people for the people, and that includes people who have certain beliefs. The church should have a voice in government (not control), but the government should not have a voice in church.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Never. No one should be forced to take a medication they do not want. I would argue for the military that there should be no required vaccination for anything that is not required to enter into another country for military purposes. In that case, a soldier should be able to opt out and have a different assignment. I will never support required vaccination. Healthcare should be a discussion between and individual and their private doctor.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C. We still need reform in medicaid/medicare. No one (other than children under 18) should be able to stay on medicaid long term. There needs to be strict requirements to qualify for medicaid. We need to prioritize healthcare coverage for all. That may mean higher taxes on those who do not have coverage to encourage people to get to work. I would want medicaid to be available to those who are working a certain number of hours a week with jobs that do not include healthcare coverage. No one should be able to stay on medicaid and unemployment (at the same time) for longer than one month. It is very different if someone is working full time, but does not have employer paid benefits. Ultimately we need to encourage a working society. It harms the healthcare system for everyone when there are patients who do not have insurance. Medicare should continue for those over a certain age.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

C. For instances like concentration camps in WWII, and mass genocide, I think it is prudent to intervene. I think China is doing some of this inhumane behavior, but it is interesting how the US has not gotten involved in that. Overall, we need to allow countries to fight their own battles. The reason the US is so strong, is the People of OUR country had to step up and fight for those freedoms. We should be encouraging this valiant efforts in other countries, not stepping in and doing it for them; it is unsustainable. We should always be working with other countries to prevent war on our land. The security of the US needs to be the priority for the US government. I would support funding for nonprofits who want to help other countries in times of crisis, but the US military should be focused on American safety and security.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

The word "threat" is the key word in this question. ANY threat of terrorism to Americans needs to be taken seriously and eradicated in whatever way necessary. "Islamic" terrorism is a threat, but there are a lot of forms of terrorism threatening our country, and they all need to be taken seriously. We need to bring back the significance of "treason." America is full of people that hate America, hate the flag, and hate leadership. Any PHYSICAL act against the flag or leadership should have prison time. I don't appreciate verbal attacks against the flag or leadership either, but it is important to preserve the right to freedom of speech for all people. The biggest threat to America, unfortunately, is within our own country right now.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

American citizens and Immigrants with paperwork/visas to enter the US are the only people who should be allowed in the country. I believe it is the mission of the Church and nonprofits to aid in relief for those in crisis outside our country. We must preserve law and order to protect our country and its people. Immigration is how this country is founded, so we need to reform policy to allow for legal and safe immigration. If any undocumented person is found to break the law, they need to be immediately arrested and deported. If there are undocumented immigrants that have employers who are willing to sponsor them, we should have policies to legalize immigrants who do not pose danger and add to the economy of our country. If elected, I want to prioritize securing the border, eradicating drug and sex trafficking, and prioritizing law and order for all people who are within our country.

VALUES

Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Agree

I don't think discrimination should be tolerated for any reason. As a Christian I am called to speak truth while giving grace. The problem we are seeing today is all grace and no truth. Biological men should not be able to play women's sports, and vice versa. None of the sexual and gender discussion of our time should be addressed in the classroom.

Staff Note: The candidate misread / misunderstood the question at first. She marked agreed, when she really disagrees.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I went to Bob Jones University for college, and I think the creed is a beautiful succinct statement of my faith, "I believe in the inspiration of the Bible (both the Old and the New Testaments); the creation of man by the direct act of God; the incarnation and virgin birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ; His identification as the Son of God; His vicarious atonement for the sins of mankind by the shedding of His blood on the cross; the resurrection of His body from the tomb; His power to save men from sin; the new birth through the regeneration by the Holy Spirit; and the gift of eternal life by the grace of God." I will base all decision making on what the Bible says. I know I am sinful, as all fall short of the glory of God. I will do my best to hold up what God wants in law. I also know I cannot, and will not, force my beliefs on someone else. I also don't believe they should be able to force their beliefs on me. In policy, I will keep in mind that not all have the same worldview and beliefs that I hold, so I will uphold liberty and freedom for all until it affects another person or our children.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

As a federal candidate, I can be a voice for election integrity and transparent audits of elections. From a federal level, I will always advocate for the power of the states to run their own elections. We need to make sure power stays at the lowest level of government. I will always strive to give power to the individual person, and take power away from the federal government.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Disagree

It is important to know our history. After slaves were freed under Abraham Lincoln, Republican General Sherman ordered for reparations to be given in the form of land to the freed slaves. This order was revoked by the new Democrat President Andrew Johnson. The reparations in this time period were entirely just, and it was an act of injustice on the democrat party in 1865. Unfortunately I do not believe a classic reparation would be just in 2022, as none of the slaves are alive today.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

From the previous question on reparations, it is important to know the history of our country. We have to see that the decision made by Democrat, Andrew Johnson, has affected the generations of those slaves who were freed without the reparations. I want to make sure that all children in 2022 are given equal opportunities in education and promote innovation and economic growth of all races. Racism is a sin, and it should be treated as such. As a Christian, I will never stand for racism. I believe all people are made in the image of God, and they should be treated that way. I think the current movement with Critical race theory in schools and the tolerance for rioting and damaging property should not be tolerated. I have grown up in the South, and I have seen across the country where this recent movement from the BLM organization has increased the incidents of racism. We need to acknowledge the beauty in the differences that all Americans bring to the table, and develop the gifts and talents of all individuals to grow and succeed in their greatest potential. We need to encourage one another no matter what the color of our skin. We need to create unity, not segregation, in the United States of America.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

https://www.newsoforange.com/community/article_c4e6e984-79e2-11ec-8ffe-d739af6b7d6e.html https://rsbnetwork.com/shows/diamond-silk-chit-chat-with-courtney-geels-2-16-22/

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I am a Christian, conservative nurse running for US Congress NC-4. I grew up in Hillsborough, NC, and I now live in Durham. As a nurse, I have seen where hospital administrations have been trending toward prioritizing profits over quality patient care, and now I see where the federal government is reaching for money and power, rather than defending our constitutional rights and freedoms. I want to advocate for our freedom with the same passion I do for my patients. The censorship in our society is infringing our right to freedom of speech, and I want to promote truth. Without truth, we cannot have biblical justice. Parents should have the choice on their children's education and a voice in the content they are being taught. Every person should be able to make their own decision in medical care, and no government mandate should dictate their employment. The lack of truth and biblical justice in America is driving disunity, so we must always start with truth to strengthen the United States of America.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Agree

I always support officers having a clear ability to enforce law. If there is a law that is unjust, I would want to target legislative change, not penalizing the officer for following policy. I support the oath, "As a law enforcement officer, my fundamental duty is to serve mankind, to safeguard lives and property, and to protect the innocent against deception, the weak against oppression or intimidation, and the peaceful against violence or disorder, and to respect the Constitutional rights..."

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

As an ER nurse, I know this will not work in the majority of cases. Most mental health patients, who are part of a 911 call, need some type of restraint as most have drugs on board or are irrational and will not cooperate to have care that is needed for them and others around them. We need reform and assistance for mental health, but that is a whole other added problem. Crime requires law enforcement. I would support adding mental health professionals, but with additional funds.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None. I support constitutional carry. The second amendment is to prevent a tyrannical government, and that is a big concern in 2022.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

You can only sue the person who used the gun inappropriately. The gun is not the problem. The person carrying the gun is the problem. The court system is the only avenue to identify if that person carrying the gun who used it inappropriately should be punished. Ultimately we have a "sin" problem in our country, and in the world, and you are not going to remove evil by removing guns from Americans.
