OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

I belief life starts at conception, because it does.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Strongly Agree

I do believe when the moral intent behind the artificial method is to bring life into the world, the question requires further details and discussion to understand.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

I am a Catholic, I believe in the sanctity of life from conception to natural death. An abortion to save the life of the mother is a medical decision. That is the "should" answer. My political answer considers existing law. I will do everything I can as a United States Senator to minimize the number of abortions in the United States. Approximately 1 million abortions a year in the United States is a tragedy. Pragmatic steps like ultra sounds, parental consent requirements.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Disagree

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Agree

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

People who can afford to pay more taxes should do so in order to provide relief for working families.

Neutral

Taxes should be used to pay for essential government services. Tough to detail exactly what those services are in 500 characters, but the Constitution of the United States is a great start, "in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity"

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

Yes, and pass my No Budget, No Fundraising Bill. No fundraising, pay, or travel for Senators and House Members for 1 quarter if budget is not passed. More details at tomweiler2026.com

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

1. Force the government to budget. That is the verb budget, to determine how much money you have to spend, what you need, and what you can not afford. 2. The government is entirely too big to work, and we are (as a country) too rich to fail. The ANSWER to cut down on government waste is less government, not more. 3, 4, 5 - Do 1 and 2 again.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

It means exactly what it says, separation of church and state. I am an originalist. It does NOT mean no religion in public space. We have freedom of religion in America, not freedon from religion.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C. With a touch of B in reference to military members health care and Veterans Health Care.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Disagree

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

C and some B. I have done national security for 25 years. While deployed on multiple Submarines and an aircraft carrier, I operated in the immediate vicinity of, and underneath military forces of China, Russia, Iran, North Korea and many others. National security looks different though a periscope. I would love to discuss in much more detail than allowed here. Please reference my website at tomweiler2026.com and reach out with questions.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

For a few years, my home of record for tax purposes was the South China Sea because of submarine deployments - kidding, but I have had a lot of experience with the Chinese and their threats to our National Security. I operated in the immediate vicinity of, and underneath military forces of China, Russia, Iran, North Korea and many others. National security looks different though a periscope. I would love to discuss in much more detail than allowed here.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes. They are a strong, reliable military partner and our nations' national security needs often align.

Islamic terrorism is a threat to the United States' national security.

Strongly Agree

IMMIGRATION

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

The who and under what circumstances regarding immigration must be in accordance with the laws of our nation. With that, our immigration laws must be updated. My priorities: Complete Border Security Infrastructure Codify into law policies to secure the border Immigration based on the needs of America & skills of immigrants Illegal Immigrants in US -Self Deport, Self-Report - options to stay if good record. If you decide not to report, you will be deported More at tomweiler2026.com

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Disagree

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Agree

Do not completely eliminate, but greatly reduce.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Agree

Just like the principle that should drive America's overall foreign policy - what is in the best interest of Americans - this should drive our policy towards foreign students attending our Universities.

VALUES

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

I do strongy agree, I believe marriage is a God-ordained sacrament between a man, a woman, and God. Society has clearly used the word marriage in a non-religious manner for an extended period of time. Marriage means what it means to me, and it is also used to mean a civil union without religious meaning in society today.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am Catholic. I try to live by that standard everyday of my life.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

EQUALITY

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Nuclear Power. I operated Nuclear Reactors for 20 years in the U.N. and I also deployed to Japan and help lead Operation TOMODACHI, the United States response to the Nuclear Disaster at Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant. I understand nuclear power.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

And parents do as well.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Having served in the U.S. Submarine Force for 20 years, I understand there is a continuum of weapons or "Arms" from a Revolutionary musket to weapons of today. I strongly support "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed" and also understand I cannot mount a torpedo on my pontoon. This is a great example of why we need United States Senators with experience, knowledge, leadership, and character to legislate, and less charactes with resumes based on fame or fortune
