QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

As a pro-life candidate, I value the lives of born and unborn alike. I do not condone aboriton but I also respect the decision to be made between a woman and her healthcare provider. I do believe that the majority of abortions should be illegal, but there are a few areas that I can explicitly think of where an abortion should be allowed and those are rape, incest, and anywhere if the life of the mother or child is in danger for pregnancy to continue. It is important to know that this argument is very similar to that of gun control that even placing restrictions on abortion, they will still be committed, maybe not in Wyoming, but if there is a will to perform them, they will be done.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Under no circumstance should tax payers foot the bill for abortion providers. I have the only exception being those mentioned above without insurance coverage.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Neutral

I view this as a very libertarian answer - it should not be the government's control or dictate in something like this issue. This is a deeply personal issue and should be held in confidence with the individual and the medical provider.

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

In particular, Wyoming's tax code needs to be completely revamped. We need a reduction in the amount of exemptions on sales tax and a more broad base for our tax revenue. A more pronounced base would provide a more level playing field for all involved and would also reduce volatility in our funding formulas.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Wyoming's government spending has been reduced to the lowest level in more than 20 years. I am sure there are some areas that could see reductions but as a general principle, we have cut enough from our state budget that we see reductions in the services that some people require. One of our largest investments is our roads and we are actually shy of our budget for road maintenance by nearly $400M annually.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

Wyoming provides a very unique and strong foundation to help with college education but it is not government's responsibility to continue education beyond high school. Our system allows students to make different quests in life including trade, military, and no more education, there is no equitable way to ensure those funds are spent fairly.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Neutral

I believe a business should have the opporutnity to stand on its own decisions. If they choose to not support a particular group of people for moral or religious purposes, they should be ready for potential consequences either way.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

They should not have access to close churches, of any kind, unless they are breaking laws that are contradictory to the safety and security of the populations being served or surrounding the area.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C - We need to take care of the most vulnerable populations and the two programs mentioned do that. We cannot expect all populations to be served and I do not believe it is the government's responsibility to provide health insurance or health care. We need a different view on how we take care of these populations and what the costs associated look like, but we must be careful to stay away from government intrusion in the private sector.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Government should have a very limited scope to require vaccines for employees and should have nearly 0 (zero) scope to require anything in a private person's life. School's if publicly funded require a different take and should have a balanced approach to vaccines and efficacy as well as vaccines and the health and safety of the larger population. An employer should have full authority to require anything they choose as a hiring practice and government should not be involved in the hiring practices of vaccinated vs. unvaccinated. Our businesses should be ready to accept the consequences in any direction if they choose to require or not require vaccines.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

The United States is not the world police and we should be careful how we handle our approach to the threat of islamic terrorism. We must stand strong with our allies and we must stand strong in not allowing the islamic terrorism threat development in countries that we have destabilized (i.e. Afghanistan). We should continue to work on this issue, but we also need to pull back from being the world police and work with a larger coalition to reduce the threat instead of taking the lead at all times.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

Israel is our ally and we must stand in defense of our allies. period.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Our national security is at risk and we must secure our border. Our security is at risk in the form of physical threats as well as monetary threats and we must work to secure our border.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

We have a secure and robust immigration policy already. We should continue with the immigration policy we have and we should increase the amount of people who help in this process so immigration processes do not take multiple years and thousands of dollars to become a citizen.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

Wyoming is unique but as a whole I strongly support school choice.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Neutral

We were established on Judeo-Christian beliefs and values but we wrote a constitution based on the FREEDOM of religion. Placing any religion as the basis for a moral standpoint is a slippery slope and we must be judiciuos in our approach to how we want to view this action. We can have limited government without any reference to religion.

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

We need ot break away from protected classes and understand that classes create more issues when they become protected. We don't need protection for many of these classes and we can reduce these issues without government protection and intrusion into our lives.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Neutral

Government should have zero say in the validity of a marriage. As far as I am concerend we should eliminate government recognition and allow religions to handle this on their own and we should reduce the impact these items have on income taxes.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

This is a completely disgraceful question. The United States was not based on racism. We certainly had our issues, but we are no different than many other populations in world history that enslaved people and had an uprising that brought freedom to those that were oppressed. To say that we are fundamentally racist is complete garbage.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian and believe in one God. My values and beliefs are based on the Christian faith and I do believe the New Testament provides us with the way we should treat our neighbors, friends, and families.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

We must show an ID for far less in our society, the one thing that we should have to show our ID for would be that for our right to vote to ensure that we have as fair of an election as possible.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Ballot harvesting and absentee (mail in) voting should be reduced. We should also look at a national voting law that would have protections from State's laws that affect national implications such as President and House/Senate.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Yes. Racism is alive and well in multiple forms and we must combat this heinous crime in all forms. It is not safe for anyone who is threatened because of their race and we must do more to impose harsh penalties to those who are convicted of racially motivated crimes.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

No one is alive today who had anything to do with the values that were imposed during slavery. There is no need for us to make reparations to anyone today who has no impact from something that happened 200+ years ago.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A - We can do our best here in America but it is important to remember that we live in a global market. If we are harming our country and our population by imposing strict regulations meanwhile other countries are growing and providing more jobs and benefits to their citizens, we should be reducing our burdens and competing with those countries.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

We have seen what being independent in energy production can do. We have seen what being dependent on energy production can do. It's clear we need to become energy independent.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

To protect the God given rights listed in the Constitution of the United States. Nothing more, nothing less.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Lean Conservative

I would actually lean more toward libertarian on many issues as well but this is not listed.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

You can simply Google my name and look for the majority of these answers.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I have a strong belief in education but I believe it needs to be balanced. I also want to reduce government burdens to business development and reduce the overall tax burden on individuals.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Agree

This is a very tough discussion and I would be more than willing to have a discussion and learn more.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

community programs and mental health funds wont save you if there is a massive car crash or mass shooter scenario. We need our police officer and I stand strong in support of our good police officers.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None - the 2nd amendment of our State and National constitution are clear about our rights.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

It isn't the gun's fault therefore it isn't the company's fault if it's used in a crime. The individual is responsibile, period.
