Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
I do not support elective abortion. Idaho law should protect unborn life while allowing physicians to provide necessary medical care when a mother's life is at risk. Delivery and elective abortion are not the same thing.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

What is your position on the minimum wage?
Wages are best determined by the free market, not by government mandates. Artificially increasing the minimum wage can especially hurt small businesses, entry-level workers, and rural communities.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Eliminate duplicative programs and unnecessary government positions. Require greater transparency and accountability in government spending. What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Separation of Church and State is not in our founding documents. Government should not establish or control religion, but neither should it exclude faith from the public square. The First Amendment protects the free exercise of religion from government interference.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
Of the choices given, C is the closest: Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but government should not continually expand taxpayer-funded healthcare programs. It should be available to those who truly need it.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Government should not create broad databases of citizens based on private medical conditions merely to calculate their economic cost. Medical privacy should be strongly protected.

Yes. Israel is an important strategic ally in a volatile region, and cooperation between our countries is important for national security, intelligence, trade, and regional stability. However, I do have some concerns with their government and motives.

We need a diverse and reliable energy portfolio, including natural gas, hydroelectric power, and nuclear energy. I am particularly interested in expanding reliable nuclear generation as electricity demand continues to grow.

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?
The goal should be to protect the public, provide justice for victims, hold offenders accountable, respect constitutional due process, and encourage rehabilitation where appropriate.
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Agree
Protecting children from online predators, trafficking, exploitation, and pornography is a legitimate and important public-safety responsibility.
Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

American courts must operate exclusively under the U.S. Constitution and the laws enacted pursuant to it. No foreign or religious legal system should supersede constitutional law or individual constitutional rights.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I strongly support the Second Amendment and do not believe additional restrictions on law-abiding gun owners are the answer to crime. Government should focus on enforcing laws against violent criminals and individuals who misuse firearms rather than restricting the constitutional rights of responsible citizens.
