QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Under no circumstances should taxpayer monies support abortion providers.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Agree
Ultimately these drugs should be taken off of the market because there are too many secondary complications, especially associated with hemorrhaging.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
As a practicing physician, I deal with life and death decisions every day. My oath is to protect life. I am 100% pro-life from conception to natural death. Elective abortions are still taking the life a human being.
Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?
Constitutionally, this is a states' rights issue affirmed by the Dobbs Decision.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The First Amendment's establishment clause was intended to protect the citizens from the government, not the government from the Church. The current cultural and political climate has the Christians silenced. The "separation of church and state" has become a weapon wielded by our government to silence religious citizens.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
We are a free people with protected constitutional rights to defend our moral and religious beliefs. Individuals have a right to their own expression and that expression can not be compelled in a way to violate their moral convictions.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
"C" - There are times when the United States's best interest is to be involved in foreign affairs; however, we have become too involved in others' policies in the past. Foreign involvement may become necessary when our Country's interests are served and America First principles are applied.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
The CCP is the greatest geo-political threat to America and the West as a whole, and our policy should reflect that reality.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
I value the alliance between Israel and the U.S. I will work to strengthen the relationship between the only democracy and supporter of human rights in the region, Israel, and our nation. As our strongest ally in the Middle East, our two nations share a history of being united in the principles and goals of freedom, pluralism, open society, and protection of basic rights. Israel is alone in the region, guaranteeing equal rights to all citizens, and shares our values in religious freedoms.
What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?
Weak leadership, woke agendas, and America-last policies
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
I am for medical freedom. I will work to protect citizens' freedoms to make the best decisions regarding their personal health. Vaccinations are personal decisions and should not be forced by government, school, or employer.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
"C"
ECONOMY
What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?
Tax relief, simplicity, and predictability are the cornerstones of good tax policy, which lead to economic growth and prosperity. Committed to lowering our tax burden, I proudly signed the No New Taxes pledge to protect our income and wealth.
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Strongly Agree
It is unfair for hardworking Americans who choose not to take out debt to cover the financial liability of those who do. A tradesman in Michigan should not pay for the education of a Berkley student.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Regarding the border, our country will not continue to be a sovereign nation if we continue with the Biden Administration's plan. I have a 21-point plan endorsed by Tom Homan, the former ICE Director under President Trump, which is detailed on my website (www.docsherry2024.com).
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
I am a firm supporter of legal immigration. Legal immigration must be done in such a way that immigrants must assimilate on their pathway to citizenship.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
Parents should have the freedom to educate their children as they choose. Finances can't become a barrier to the best education for a child limiting home education or private education only to those who can afford it. I'm a strong supporter of tax credits which remove some of the financial burden on educational freedom. Bureaucrats and the teachers’ unions are not the answer to supplying the next generation with a quality education. No student should be trapped in a failing scool.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
The Department of Education is a bloated bureaucracy. This power needs to be redistributed back to the states. The recent Title IX reinterpretation only proves this fact. Due to this policy alone, we should raze the Department of Education and salt the earth.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
We cannot live or prosper if our streets are not safe. I strongly support law enforcement, whether our local police or ICE officers. I will not throw law and order under the bus to score political points. We need more cops, not less.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I believe every American has a right to bear arms. I will defend our right to do so and work to repeal ALL laws restricting that right.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.
Strongly Disagree
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
My governing principle is less government, more freedom.
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
Government's fundamental role is to protect the life and rights of its citizens. Our Founding Principles outlined in the Declaration and Constitution are fundamental to freedom. As we continue to stray from these basic principles, citizens lose freedom.
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No.
VALUES
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Agree
The government has no right to redefine biblical marriage. Whatever the government chooses to call legal unions has no effect on the true definition.
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
As a physician, I know that underage minors should not be having transgender surgeries. I will work to stop this mutilation of children. I am appalled at the radicalization happening in our schools. I will work not only to get politics out of our classrooms but also to empower parents. I have the backbone to take on the teachers’ unions and the medical establishment that are consumed by implementing a dangerous left-wing agenda at the expense of our kids.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I accepted Jesus as my personal savior as a child. Early in life, He became my anchor, especially during the stormier times. I developed a biblical worldview. I went to Bible college, and I am ordained in the ministry. My values are filtered by a biblical worldview and Scripture. We are created in the image of God as triune beings. This has driven the philosophy of my medical practice as I treat the whole person, body, soul, and spirit. I also believe my calling is to use my gifts to reach people. Consequently, this has led me to go into missions and use my skill set in helping people across the world.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
The integrity of our elections is critical. Without honest, fair elections, we as a nation are destined to mob rule and tyranny.
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
Our Founders showed incredible wisdom when creating the Electoral College system. Without it, we are destined to be ruled by the coastal cities, and politicians will not attend to the heartland of America. The Electoral College forces politicians to care about the policies and values of the less populous states. It is essential to our compact that it remains.
EQUALITY
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
CRT represents a Marxist worldview that has no basis in reality.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Disagree
While environmental protection is the hallmark of responsible citizens, policies must be tailored not to destroy the Country's economy. Climate change is a challenge that must be addressed, but it is not an existential threat.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Nuclear power's ability to provide clean, reliable energy will continue to be a resource we must pursue. Natural gas is a far cleaner energy source than coal and is just as reliable.
