QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
If the mothers life is in immediate danger.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
None assuming the church isn't violating any federal laws by harming people or inappropriate acts against children etc.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Stop bringing every person we can from all over the world into our country. Finish our border wall. Have a real DOJ that's more worried about things like Islamic terrorism than they are parents who speak out at school boards. So many of those committing crimes are also on FBI watch lists as well. We can't continue to have people who make it onto watch lists committing heinous crimes and not being stopped before hand. The DOJ, FBI, and CIA are not doing their jobs.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Neutral
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C is my current view with D being what it would be in a more ideal scenario. Hopefully we can get our government spending on track and it will trickle down into our economy, eventually allowing us to not have to have programs like medicaid and medicare and everyone is self-sufficient.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Never. Especially in the case of the Covid "vaccinations" that offer no protection from infection or transmission. In order for something to be considered a vaccination, it used to have to prevent the taker from getting infected with the disease, with our new definition of vaccine now excluding it having to prevent infection or transmission, a mandate will never make sense.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
If we had a flat tax it would help with the issue that our current tax code has of multiple taxes on savings and investment. Flat taxes also eliminate special preferences and penalties that inevitably lead to companies making decisions based on tax considerations vs economic growth.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
What we spend overseas. What we've spent on Ukraine recently is a great example of wasteful government spending, the United States is sending billions and billions of dollars to Ukraine with absolutely no accountability. We also continue to do things like funding both sides of the conflict when two middle-eastern counties will attack each other. I also think the amount of money people receive that retire from our Congress and government in general needs to be fixed.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
The United States needs an immigration moratorium. We don't know how many people are illegally in our country right now, we've had an unprecedented invasion from our southern border for more than a year now. Until we've got a grasp on how many are here illegally and get things sorted, we need to pause immigration. After that, immigration should be a supply and demand issue, when we need workers to fill jobs and rolls, that's when we should bring in people.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
I also support having cameras in classrooms on the teachers for parents to be able to sign in and check on what their kids are being taught.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
We have good laws now, like prohibiting felons etc. We should have more training programs available so that people are more comfortable owning and carrying guns to protect themselves and others.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To protect and serve it's people.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
There's a multitude of interviews I've done available by searching my name. I also have a podcast on Podbean that talks about values that's available. I have a huge social media following and am very active on Twitter, best place to see my conservative views/posts would be there @swainforsenate on twitter.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I plan on passing conservative legislation. I want to protect our states values. I want to make sure to keep men out of women's sports, I want to make sure no one has to take a vaccine they don't want to keep their job, and I want to work on improving our schools and wages. Opening school choice, implementing E-verify, some real simple changes will go a long way towards improving South Carolina
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Agree
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Agree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Christian.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Outlaw no excuse mail-in ballots. Paper ballots instead of machines. One day voting and make it a federal holiday.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No. I grew up in the 80's and racism wasn't an issue then. The racism that's happening now is mostly manufactured. I've been called a racist by democrats for simply being a supporter or President Trump. The term is over used now. It's also why it's vital to keep CRT and similar teachings out of our schools, they teach division and racism and they fuel the fire.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
I don't believe there is an existential threat to the globe over "climate change." That said, we should always be mindful of mother nature and show respect when building new construction and be as mindful as we can about preservation.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
